This is a bit late but wanted to share how wonderful this home is. It is in a perfect location in Capital Hill, easy access to restaurants, downtown and Pikes Market, with a wonderful view of the water. The living room is bigger than it appears in the photos, the kitchen has everything you could need and more. The bed is comfortable. Angela is a perfect host with recommendations for restaurants and even a dentist when I broke a tooth. The view from the living room and side porch is spectacular, we watched the sun set most every night. I plan to stay here again when I return. Although we drove a car the bus stop is just up the street. The gardens are also lovely.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: It was great having you here! Please come again!

This is truly a remarkable property. The views are exquisite. I loved the the wrap around front windows and the decor throughout. I actually found myself wanting to go back so i could enjoy the apartment and take a nap. It was inviting and peaceful. The location is great if you're driving as it's close to the highways and the hip venues on Broadway. Parking might be a bit challenging but we lucked out for most of our stay. If you're on foot it might take you a bit to get downtown but it's doable. Management was thorough, helpful and professional. I highly recommens.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you! I'm so glad it all worked out! It sounds like you had a lot of fun! Come back anytime.

Angela was available and above & beyond helpful from the moment we booked in February until the end of our stay which was in April. Check in was seamless as Angela had opened the unit for us and the following evening Angela was again immediately available to assist after we had managed to lose the key. The unit was perfect and just as expected from the VRBO photos. The freeway does run below and was a concern upon arrival but once inside and settled was not a noticeable distraction. We did not opt to rent a car and found the bus system convenient and easily accessible within a short walk. The apartment is perfectly situated as we spent daytimes exploring all the other Seattle districts and could end the day with a bite to eat and cocktails close to home in the local Capitol Hill area. Not having to deal with driving, traffic and parking was a big plus for us! Another “good to know” is that there is a ZoomCare nearby for any urgent care needs that may arise. The views of the lake and space needle are amazing especially on a clear night!! We enjoyed watching the rowers and seaplanes while having morning coffee. Checkout was just as easy as check in and we had the benefit of storing our luggage while we explored Seattle one last day prior to an evening flight. We were able to chat with Angela a little more prior to leaving and must say if there is a regret it would be that our schedule did not allow for more time at “home” and the opportunity to perhaps visit with Angela a bit more. To finish the experience the deposit refund basically made it home the day after we did!! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone travelling to Seattle.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank-you so much for your detailed review! I was sorry it rained so much but it certainly did not deter from filling your days with a multitude of activities! I was very impressed that you just bundled up and took off on foot with your list of things to do and appreciated how neat and tidy you left everything(:) Please come back for another visit soon!

What a beautiful apartment! It takes up the entire floor of the three-story building and it's gorgeously decorated. It has a great view of the water and it's near everything. It felt like an exclusive private home with wonderful artwork. Everything was very comfortable, especially the bed, and I felt very safe. Some things to know: * The parking is in an open garage and is generally available after 6 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. It worked well for me as a business traveler, and there was also on-street parking. It's over a one-person beauty salon, but I only heard one patron in three days. * It's okay to arrive late at night. There's a code box with a key in it. Put the flashlight app on your smart phone or bring a pen light: it's hard to see. It was also hard to close: the owner might want to change it. * The only other thing I would change is to label the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower; otherwise, I thought the place was tremendous. The remote controls are for the fans: the temperature control is in the dining room. * It's a quiet street and it feels safe. There are steps to the apartment: to stay here you need to be able to walk up a flight of steps. There are also stairs inside from the entry way to the living space. * The wi-fi went out but was fixed within a few hours. The owner knew before I did and was responsive about it. * My refund for the security deposit processed in 12 days. * The kitchen is fully furnished and the dining room has a large table. I would love to come back and stay here again. I would be proud to invite friends over to meet me here. I would definitely stay here instead of a luxury hotel as it offers so much more. The listing is accurate and the pictures barely do justice to the view and the furnishings.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Oh my goodness....thanks so much for all of your detailed descriptions of everything from furnishings, artwork to check-in/check-out. I think this is so helpful for travelers who are trying to decide on a property. I thought installing the lock box would be a convenient way for travelers to check-in without having to be here at a specific time but every once in a while someone does have trouble so I have decided to install keyless entry systems for all of the doors as soon as I am able. All of the wi-fi issues were finally resolved when Comcast realized it was a bad router but it did take several appointments and I am a neophyte when it comes to all of that technology(:O I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and I look forward to your return!

We were so happy to return to this beautiful property after our visit two years ago. We found the property just as delightful this time, meeting our needs perfectly again. The panoramic view of Seattle drew us home each evening to see the sun set as we enjoyed a glass of wine. The amenities that Angela offers were all we needed to make our stay perfect. It was clean and well-maintained plus well appointed. We love all the art pieces scattered throughout the condo. Angela has prepared an informative sheet which answers questions we encountered during our stay. The location is central to everything in Seattle. We hope to return again and would definitely recommend to friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Oh thank you, that is so nice to hear! I love having repeat guests! I hope to see you again soon! Thanks for being such considerate guests(:)

Alas, I am belatedly submitting my review as I was unaware of the importance of the review process since I had found Angela’s retreat through craigslist. I suspect neither of us had anticipated that my 2 month stay would eventually turn into 2 years! As we approached the summer months she assured me that I would be able to continue my stay even though she could have garnered much higher rents. It was a transitional time in my life and for me the comfort, security and peace of mind of staying there provided me with such a feeling of stability that it enabled me to deal with everything else at hand. The views......are astounding! I sat mesmerized each night peacefully answering emails, cooking meals, watching the traffic....who knew traffic could be so entertaining? On the rare occasion I needed something, Angela quickly responded. Incredibly we only saw each other a dozen times but I felt a kindred spirit between us. To some it might seem odd for someone to describe living on the freeway as “peaceful”, but if you’ve ever stayed at a Riverside or Oceanside resort, you know it is all “white noise”. Please take her up on her restaurant recommendations!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: The fact that I let you stay here for 2 years really speaks volumes of your character! You were a dream tenant. I miss you but I'm also glad that you are moving forward in your life(:) Thanks again for making it so easy to live/work next-door.

This is the second time I stay at this property, but the first one I write a review for it. I do this because I think its worth keeping this place as is, selfishly hoping to come back whenever I need to. In my opinion, it is an unbeatable deal. The connectivity is just the tip of the iceberg. Connections to 520 and I5 could not be better. For a contract employee working downtown, or at Microsoft, Boeing, or Amazon, this is the place to be, centrally located but above it all; the real Seattle experience, but with the comforts of a home away from home. Also, the views are just unreal. I come from a city with a constant city rumble, so I find the slight freeway hum the equivalent of an urban river. It you are all about bucolic landscapes this might not the place for you. But if you are an urbanite who wants to have your cake and eat it, it may just be the right choice. And if you seek the real Seattle experience seek no more. One of the unique aspects of this place is that Angela -the owner- lives in one of the units of the multifamily. Having her greet you upon arrival, offer her recommendations and insider tips of the area, and respond to any issues that may arise -anywhere I have been they always arise- is just priceless. She is also eloquent and very well educated so talking to her was a charm. On the practical side of things, the building is very well maintained as is the landscaping. The one bedroom unit - which is the one I enjoy- doesn't boast the latest finishes, but I am more about substance and I seek a good layout, light, views, and overall feeling. I have stayed in other properties in the area but this one is my favorite by far. Keep it up!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I look forward to seeing you again and again! Thank you for accurately describing the unit, surroundings and location. And for being such a delightful guest(:)

I don't think you can beat this home for a great location and amazing views of Seattle. The house is very comfortable and well appointed with everything you need to feel right at home. The grill on the deck is a great addition. It has a very comfortable bed and furniture. Angela is a wonderful host and made sure we had anything we needed. She also gave us some great restaurant tips and info on the area, so be sure to take her up on that! We had a wonderful time and plan on returning next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Saying that our stay exceeded our expectations is an understatement. Not knowing why we couldn't find an available or reasonably priced hotel in or around downtown Seattle over Labor day weekend, we turned to VRBO. After narrowing down to a few choices, we phoned and emailed each one. The hostess was prompt and extremely friendly. Good sign so far. We weren't sure if 1 bedroom would be sufficient, but we took our chances, given that the views seemed excellent. As we approached the day of our trip, our hostess was extremely friendly and accommodating, both via email and text messaging. Made us feel very taken care of. On trip day, we messaged her and she was onsite and ready. She greeted us at the door, and gave us a wonderful, personalized tour of the property, and recommendations to nearby attractions/restaurants/watering holes. The property was well appointed, and had everything we needed. Though probably not updated as recently as her penthouse, it was perfect for a casual weekend. We ended up using an air mattress that we brought along with us for a 2nd bed. She has blankets/supplies if you need upon request. And let me tell you about the views. The views were just awesome. Large windows gave unobstructed views of the waterfront, and you could see all the water planes landing and taking off, in amongst all the boats, kayakers, etc. I would highly recommend bringing binoculars or large zoom camera. Though probably not formally approved, we were able to go outside and sit on the ledge of the flat garage roof below, to get even more amazing views, where we could take in more views. What's even more impressive is how quick it is to get to downtown and back. A fast hop onto the interstate and before you know it, you are there. The property is less than a $10 cab ride to all the restaurants and bars in the Capitol Hill area, especially on Pike and Pine. We had no idea what the area was like, but we quickly became acquainted, and we avoided downtown altogether and spent all our time in the local district. What's even better, a late night walk back home was surprisingly fast and easy, even easier if you've had a few drinks!! What looks like it might take an hour+ to walk back was easily accomplished faster than that. We've never been to Seattle before, so we didn't know what to expect. We ended up loving the city, and we are 110% positive that this property played most of the role in that. HIGHLY recommended stay, you will not regret it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wow-that is the most expansive, accurate and complimentary review I have ever gotten! Thanks Ryan! Please come back and bring your wife and hopefully by then, a baby(;-)

Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Capitol Hill:
In 2000 I sold my downtown salon and bought this building in order built a one chair salon that I work in Sunday-Tuesday and rent out to another hairdresser Wednesday-Saturday. I live in one unit and have another 3-BD unit that I also rent furnished short term. Although this unit has been rented short term for 11 years, I've had 3 guests extend their stays for up to 2 years each! If you need 4 bedrooms you can rent both units.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
One of the things I love about this property is it's proximity to everything. We are minutes away from I-5, 520, I-90 and downtown, yet we are surrounded by lush landscaping that is maintained year round and can enjoy beautiful sunsets beyond Lake Union, Downtown and Olympic mountain views.
