At 850 ft elevation, the villa abuts a conserved palm forest to the north, with beautiful views of Mt. Nevis to the east.
Island Time has a terrace level pool, beautiful landscaped gardens, and 4 spacious air-conditioned bedroom, 3 with ensuite bathrooms. From the Sunset Terrace, four islands appear in your view. From the screened Dining Pavilion you can watch the sun rise over the mountain and the sun set over the tropical blue Caribbean Sea, while monkeys cavort in nearby trees. From the Garden Terrace, you're surrounded by tropical flowers and hummingbirds.
A short drive from the villa meanders through the world class Four Seasons golf course and local villages, bringing you to unspoiled beaches, wonderful restaurants, luxurious spas, shopping districts, historic sites, museums and beautiful, unspoiled beaches.

Why the Owner Chose Fern Hill
When Carol lived in Nevis over 30 years ago, she used to hike in Tower Hill Estate, a huge palm forest next door to our property. She always wanted to live here, and when the site came available, we bought it and built our home. The views are unbelievable, looking northwest across the Nevis Narrows (body of water between Nevis and St. Kitts). It's a great place to see the "greenflash", by the way. And Nevis is a special jewel of an island; unspoiled and very careful of its historic and natural treasures, of which there are many. We especially love the people of Nevis; open, warm, friendly.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We enjoy every time of the day. The view from the sunset terrace changes all day long; we never tire of it. The morning sun rises above Mt. Nevis behind us, shining on St. Kitts across the Narrows, and bringing morning sun to the dining pavilion. When the sun is high overhead, the sea becomes turquoise and it seems like we can touch the islands in our view. At sunset, we watch the sun go down with a drink on the terrace. The pool is spectacular all day (and for late night swims!). We love to hike in the rainforest right from our doorstep and watch the monkeys play in the trees. Sleeping is wonderful here because it is so quiet. And no "moseys" -- except in the rainy season in September and October, and then only a few.

We've been coming to Nevis for more than 30 years. Carol used to run one of the Island's hotels and brought Peter here when they married. When we decided to build on this very special Island, we were lucky to find the very spot Carol had always dreamed about.We think we've got the most beautiful site and home on the island. We are avid sailors and sail on our 42' sailboat to Nevis every year from New England where we enjoy our summers sailing mostly in Maine. We have 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, and lots of neices and nephews.

Our second renters just left, a family of 3 (including an eight year old boy). They wrote: "The home you have is unbelievable. For us, the privacy, views, breezes, uncompromising amenities all added up to a relaxing, recharging experience. We want to come back for sure. A week is way too short." Our third renters are there now. When I called to see how everything was going one of them said: "I've rented houses all over the world and have never found a place like this. You've thought of everything." Pretty cool!

Our first guest wrote this comment: "The pictures don't begin to show how beautiful this house is. The view is really spectacular. It's a comfortable house to be in, everything fresh and tasteful, with lots of room, but also very private. I was really impressed. More than I ever expected. And we loved Nevis. We spent a lot of time on the beach at Nisbet Plantation because there is a nice restaurant there. The people in Nevis are so nice too. Even though Nevis is small, we found lots to do and see. Great restaurants -- we did the 'pig roast' at Hermitage which is not to be missed; every Wednesday night. Dancing at Nisbet and Oualie. Killer Bees at Sunshine's, teeshirt shopping in Charlestown with a cool one at the Cafe des Artes after. And a float in Island Time's pool at the end of the day. We will definitely come back."
