We checked in April 8th for our 1week honeymoon in paradise. The condo was perfect! We were able to check in early and found the condo to be more than we had expected! It was truly a great deal and a great honeymoon! It was so nice to sit on the couch and watch the beautiful blue ocean waves. This was our 2nd trip to St. Thomas and definitely the best trip EVER!!! the condo was perfect accommodation for 2 people. The bed was very comfortable, the patio was a nice plus and the view was amazing! I was a little upset about the negative review posted before mine. You have to be very miserable person not to enjoy your days there. Please anyone considering this condo as a vacation, ignore the negative comments left by unhappy people and experience paradise for yourself!! Thank you to everyone at Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina for making our honeymoon unforgettable! I am counting down the days until I have the great opportunity to stay at this lovely condo in beautiful paradise!!!

Just returned from 12 days in glorious St Thomas, stayed at THIS very rundown condo, where it doesnt look like the owner has done anything in 20 years to maintain it. IT IS A STUDIO! there are only sheers on the window and no privacy unless you can get the old plantation shutters to work and close off the bed area. The owner came and when asked how to do this, went to get help and never saw her again for 12 days. The toilet seat is a disgusting old soft one with tears in it, The sofa bed is NOT NEW , it is from the original condo, they have the same one in the "office" and one cannot even sit on it comfortably. The NEW king mattress rests on 20 yr old twin boxsprings and hangs over the end by 14 inches. This condo over looks a lovely part of the beach which fills up everyday with people from the 1-7 cruise boat arrivals. The kitchen is functional for making lunch and breakfast but not for cooking. BTW we had to turn off the noisy refridgerator every nite so we could sleep. MY ADVICE??SKIP THIS ONE AND KEEP LOOKING ON THE SITE! YOU WILL FIND A LOVELY PLACE WORTHY OF YOUR MONEY AND THAT WILL ENHANCE YOUR HOLIDAY NOT AGGRAVATE AND TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR ENJOYMENT!

What a Beautiful, Picturesque location... You can not beat the sandy beach view overlooking St Johns, and the British Virgin Islands..The water was crystal blue with enough reefs to snorkel and see the abundance of beautiful fish...in fact, you don't need to snorkel..the fish come up to you just standing in the water....As mentioned in previous reviews, the complex is going through some renovations and is need of some repair , but this did not hinder our stay. We met Shirley and her daughter who were very accommodating.. The unit is very large and clean with all the amenities you need.. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and were sorry to leave.........:(

Beutiful location/Run down complex

My wife and I just got back last Sunday from her surprise 40th birthday trip. This complex is on a perfect location, and has great snorkeling right outside the door. But the interior of this condo is need of updating. The exterior of the complex is in major need of repair. There is wood between and above the patio decks all around the complex that is rotting and falling apart. The bed was mushy and uncomfortable. This would be an ok place for a spring break weekend for college kids. Not nice enough for a 40th birthday surprise. When in the office getting the third set of swim fins that didn't fit, there was a couple complaining that their jewelry was stolen by the maid service. They were calling the police and I got a lock for the safe in the room. The office is boarded up and located in an upstairs room. The bar at the pool is boarded up. The gift shop and dive shop was closed. You need to rent a car to get around. Red hook is fun, great restaurants everywhere. Kmart is good for cheap rum and supplies five miles the other way. The bar/grill at Sapphire beach is tucked out of the way and not very nice. It's a shame the owners of this complex don't update the exterior. The owners of the unit need to do their part too. I agree with a different review, when they said it's like staying at a cheap hotel. My recommendation would be to stay on St. Johns if you want nice beaches. We spent three of our days out there and will never stay on St. Thomas again.

Owner response:Unfortunately, these guests were looking for 5-star quality Resort at a $99 per night price September Special. Our unit is beautiful, clean and has island decor including many brand new, comfortable furnishings. We have never had a complaint about our beds or furniture. In fact, the sofa bed is brand new. There have been no reports of crime. There are safes in each room to lock up your jewelry and expensive belongings. There is excellent security and the maid service have always had an impeccable record. We have guests who return year after year and stay for weeks and for months at a time and they have always loved their stay, referred their freinds and families. Check our calendar, it is always booked. The Bar and Restaurants have changed hands and are simply in a state of transition and are soon to re-open. The buildings are being repaired in stages with new railings and new lattice work over the decks and will be completed soon. All is great at Sapphire Beach A-207. Unfortunately it takes 10 positives to overcome a negative so don't let a negative review sway your decision to come here. St John's hotels are two to three times more expensive and don't have beach fronts. WE ARE RIGHT ON THE BEACH and it's the nicest beach on St. Thomas. That is why we bought here and why so many of our guests return.

best vacation ever. just got back 3 days ago. Can't even express in words what a wonderful time we had at Sapphire Beach. The room is huge, went w/ another couple. Lots of room, we switched w/ them between the king bed and queen pull out couch. The owners have ply wood behind the couch so when you pull the bed out to sleep on it, you put the wood under the mattress, great sleep, no saggy bed, going to do this in my own home. The beach is the best on St. Thomas, Magens Bay is nice from up above to look at, but no wind, snorkeling, or view. rented a car for 1 day, went to other beaches, sapphire is the best. red hook is 1 mile away, has restaurants, grocery store, everything ferry to st. john, go there for the day, we liked cinnamon bay. Book early on this site go to calendar, it is great. Already booked for next year.

stayed here in June w/ my husband. We have found our little piece of paradise. I have been to 7 islands, and this is the best beach I have ever seen. The condo is about 15 ft from the water. wow. The condo is big, clean and nicely decorated, full kitchen, everything you need from blender to spaghetti fork, nice dishes, pots, cups. I don't know what the people who put the bad post are talking about, maybe they are used to the Ritz-Carlton. We LOVED the condo!!!! We will be back every year, Can't wait....

This place is just okay

If you are looking for a so so place to stay then this place is for you. The condo is run down and is like staying in a cheap hotel. The entire place is supplied with cheap items. The condo needs updating. Would not stay again as the resort is beginning to look run down. The people at the desk were rude and when the maid took our blankets after cleaning one day, we asked for them back and never got them.

Owner response:If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, by all means, please do so. If your'e looking for a wonderful, beachfront location, this is the best beach on St. Thomas. Our Condominium has Caribbean decor: Rettan Furniture in keeping with the traditional Island theme. The Restaurant and Bar, Pool Bar & Grill and lobby have all changed management and were in a state of transition and are soon to be totally updated and reopened. The Caribbean People are very respectful, polite and well-mannered. Courtesy is Contagious: Some guests demand, rather than ask for things politely.

My family and I stayed here for our son's wedding in April. We had a great time. The condo is right on the beach. We didn't use the kitchen too much as we ate out in Red Hook a lot, but we did make some meals. We liked the place very much. We went to St. John for a day. Make sure you go to the beach there.All of the staff was great to us. Goldeen, the maid was really nice and works very hard. We loved the pool, and the snorkeling is great at Sapphire. Heard through the message boards that the bar and restaurants are opening within the month, so we will be back. Trying to book it again for this Dec., Hope the Sunday Beach party is going on. :)

Piece of paradise

We stayed here the week of October 10, 2010, and it was wonderful. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the beach and water (which is wonderful for snorkeling), and the condo is perfect. There was a bit of a problem with construction noise as October is the month owners are allowed to renovate, but it wasn't too terrible. I mean, really, how terrible can it be with such gorgeous surroundings? The location and proximity to Red Hook are perfect, and the Marina Market in Red Hook has everything you need for the week. Who knew spaghetti could taste so good? :-) There is a little snack stand at the resort with great burgers and sandwiches and wicked strong drinks. If you stay here, take advantage of the day sail to St. John that leaves from the marina; it is so much fun and the captain is great! Shirley and Jason are fantastic folks. This was our fifth trip to St Thomas and our first at this resort. We definitely plan to return (hopefully this September).

We stay in the condo unit A207 for 10 days and had a wonderful time. This is the best part of the entire place, nice view, convenience and close to everything ( The Dive shop, Concierge desk, office, car rental etc...), best part of the beach and clean condo. The pool with a beautifull view of St. John, Our kids hanging out at the pool and swim back and forth between beach and pool all day. The pictures do not do the place justice...Jason the ownwer is very nice, understandable and easy to deal with. He is making sure that you are happy on your entire stay...We are very please to stay here and definitely will come back soon. Thanks again for your hospitality. It was a great vacation...Highly recommend to all, A+++ A happy vacationer.

Just got back from 8 days in paradise. We were a little worried because this was our first experience using vrbo, but we were very pleased when we walked into the condo. It was in great shape, clean, and the views, wow!! Will definitely stay here when we come back, and we will be back! Location is perfect, right next to the lobby were we got towels every day and close to the dive shop. We snorkeled almost every day and kayaked the morning before we came home. Visited many beaches and the best one was in our backyard! Swam with sea turtles, rays, and numerous fish. Definitely would recommend staying here, hope to be back soon!!!

Had a wonderfull time! The unit is in the perfect place on the beach and close to everything you need. Great unit and comfortable for 4 people. Would reccomend highly! Shirley and Laurie were so helpful and have beautiful art for sale. Jason was great to talk to and took care of any question we had. Want to come back for sure!! Perfect beach and great people to rent from.

This was the best vacation ever for all of our family. The room was perfect, close to the local market, & the views, WOW!!!!!! The prettiest place I have ever seen. My two daughters 17 & 7 loved the ducks, snorkeling, & the iguannas. We will be back every yr. & I wish I could buy a unit there & stay forever. We didn't want to come home. Till next yr.

I have to say that I am not one to leave feedback at restaurants, or on forms but in this case, it is justified and I feel due to the small number of comments left by guests, I want to make sure those seeking out a QUALITY vacation experience, that they RUSH to secure this knock-out location. The condo is exactly as described: The PERFECT location in Building A. ALL OTHER BUILDINGS have CORAL REEF in front of them and everyone has to walk all the way down to the beach in front of Building A where it is clear and perfectly soft and sandy deep into the water. It is right next to the lobby which is ultra convenient. It is a second floor unit so you feel safer and secure than being directly on the beach and it is not noisy as it would be on the first floor. Shirley is an sweetheart of an owner and an outstanding tour guide with recommendations on where to go, what to avoid and where the best beaches are on not only St. Thomas but also St. John. And, what a beautiful artist she is. We purchased 12 of her original watercolor prints in paper frames and she even signed them for us too. The condo is immaculate, with stunning views just as the photos describe. We will return next year without a doubt. Thank you, Shirley. It was a great vacation. Haley

What a wonderful stay! The unit I rented was just as described and was all that I had hoped for. Shirley, the owner was pleasant to deal with and she took care of all of my questions.
