We wanted to stay somewhere less commercial so we could really relax. You definitely need a car to stay here, but that was part of the fun. No one stayed at the other suite when we were there and the person who lives upstairs was on holiday. So we had the entire house to ourselves. Lus (the housekeeper) was very friendly and helpful, brought extra clean towels and changed the linens mid week. The beach was steps from the front porch. The studio was large and had everything we needed. NO TV which was great. we walked on the beach each day and didn't see any people for two days. Heaven. We went into Placencia every day for lunch. Brenda's BBQ is a must. Maricia was extremely responsive when I sent her emails asking questions before we left on the trip. If I go back to Belize, I would definitely stay there. Very clean. The pictures very accurately reflected the property. We even got to use the pool next door for a couple of days :). Highly recommend.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

For my wife's fiftieth birthday, we had decided on vacationing somewhere tropical. This vacation was long overdue for us and after some on-line searching came across Beach Front Suites near Maya Beach, Belize. We had never been to Belize, knew nothing about Beach Front Suites and essentially took a leap of faith. The suites were very clean and very comfortable. The price was right an everyone connected to the enterprise was extremely helpful and accommodating. The location was perfect for a vacation get a way yet convenient for the "action" of town (Placencia) as well as inland excursions. My wife and I became quite smitten with the whole place and I randomly met three or four local homeowner's who said, "oh, yeah, the first time we came to Belize, we stayed at Beachfront Suites." Currently, we are researching another the possibility of another visit next year and would certainly love to stay at Bob and Maricia's place again. Owner response: Beachfront Suites is in a quiet neighborhood, four miles from Maya Beach where there are great restaurants, a grocery store, and even a bowling alley.

We had a wonderful trip to Belize and the accomodations far exceeded our expectations. Randy was a superb host, with great suggestions on local restaurants and fun things to do. Santos cut us fresh coconut and taught us how to make coconut rice with the juice which my husband cooked and we ate just about every day for lunch (YUM!). He taught us how to choose just the right coconut for the sweetest juice. When picked young, the meat of the nut has a completely different texture which we froze and blended into pinneapple coconut smoothies which were also delicious. Las who helps tend the suites provided us with fresh towels and changed our bedding mid week which was a welcome surprise. You can tell that Las, Santos and Randy all take great pride in keeping the Beachfront suites in tip top shape. Although seldom seen, thier presence is felt in that the grounds always look, smell and feel very clean and inviting. We could not have asked for a better stay and the hospitality that we received was warm and welcoming without being intrusive. Although the two downstairs units are close in proximity, we had as much privacy as we needed. We have two college age daughters and although they did not accompany us on this trip, my husband and I could not help but think how perfect this set up would for a family with older children because the two units would have been a perfect spot for our two daughters to enjoy their own space while still giving their parents the desired privacy that we have come to enjoy during our empty nesting phase. The previous post to mine is spot on in her description of the Beachfront and I agree with all of her comments. My only regret (aside from not bringing along our college age daughters) is that we were only able to book one week. We would loved to have stayed much longer! The water off the beachfront is warm and easily accessible from the sandy shore. We are avid kayakers and the paddling in Belize is second to none! There is a ton of marine life to see and there is a coral reef that lies just south of the Beachfront by a few miles that is easy to miss if you aren't keeping an eye out for it. If you rent kayaks during your stay, bring along your snorkel gear because you don't want to miss the marine life that florishes near and around the reef. We paddled from the Beachfront, all the way down to Placencia and cut across the open ocean to a false key where again we saw lots of wild life. What a trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Simply perfect property! Definitely staying at this property again. Beautifully set on the beach with several lush tropical plants. The Palapa off the private pier was our favorite spot to enjoy the ocean breeze, relax, and enjoying the natural surroundings. Enjoyed reading in the hammock and enjoying the serenity. Very peaceful and secluded from everything yet a short drive to the local markets. Perfect spot for those looking to find peace and connect with their inner self. The ocean was like glass most mornings and resembled that of a lake. It was like nothing we had seen before but enjoyed the calm for swimming off the dock, beach, and just enjoying the time pass in such amazing surroundings. The apartment itself was great with a full equipped kitchen for cooking meals with local ingredients, nice tiled shower with excellent pressure, and very comfortable bed. Placencia Village is close by where we found the local farmers markets with a large variety of fruits/vegetables and grocery stores for other items. Great places to eat out there as well and do a little shopping. The locals are very nice, friendly, talkative, caring, and loving. Felt like we were at home. This was surprising as normally when we travel the Yucatan the locals try to hassle tourists. The area is very safe! We drove from the Belize City airport and did't have any trouble. The drive down is really nice. Plenty of hiking spots, jungle adventures, and caves to visit along the way to explore on your own. No need for tourist trips here. Maya Beach is close by Placencia as well with some excellent restaurants to offer. They have excellent daily fresh fish options that are simply amazing! We watched the restaurant owner buy fish from the local fisherman off the dock at the restaurant. You definitely don't see this everyday! Definitely a personable area and even nicer than we expected! Enjoyed every minute at this Beachfront Suite and plan to come back again for longer next time. Who knows we may not leave..once you stay here it will steal your heart and you will never want to leave!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My Husband and I stayed at Beachfront for one week, we enjoyed every second of it. The suite is well appointed with everything you need and all is well maintained. The beach and the dock are every bit as beautiful as they look in the pictures. The owners are more than willing to answer any questions regarding your trip and are very helpful with recommendations. There is information regarding restaurants, grocery stores, attractions etc in the suite. The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is a must see, lots of excellent hikes. The Mayan ruins are beyond beautiful, you really cannot go to Belize without seeing at least one or two ruins. The people of Belize are all friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful home to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Beachfront in Belize from Jan 30th thru Feb 13th and enjoyed every minute. We found the property spic and span clean, very very comfortable, we loved the location away from the resort areas, so it was peacefull and quiet and very well -maintained. The owners and caretaker were very help full in advising where to go, what to see, We would absolutely recommend the property to friends or relatives. We did the Monkey river tour, ate at several very nice restaurants. The Maya beach hotel/bistro we thought was the best.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

If you ever have dreamed of having a quiet stretch of tropical beach almost entirely to yourself, then this is the place to stay. Imagine having all of this directly outside your door of your fully updated VRBO rental, including a front porch facing the sea. We spent a marvelous 6 days here, and the memories of all of that beauty and relaxing vistas stayed with us. Stay here if you want a truly relaxing vacation on a tropical beach. But bring a car. Dining and entertainment in Placencia (tours to Monkey River or Laughing Bird Cay are available in Placenia; we did both) or exploring the jungle trails of Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Refuge are each only 30 minute drives, making this vacation rental an ideal home base to explore more of Belize. We definitely plan on staying here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Beachfront Suites is a rare and special find. It has the comfort and tranquility of a bed and breakfast inn with the privacy and personal comfort of a hotel. The location in southern Belize is perfect for enjoying the best of both the beach and the jungle. With a very short drive one will find all water sports and the beauty of the jungle. The suites are large, well appointed, comfortable and very, very clean. Snorkel directly off the private sand beach or catch a dive boat up the street for some world class diving. The suites have great kitchens to keep your food costs down. Laundry is available if needed. This is the best of the best.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Beachfront Suite while visiting the Placencia peninsula on business. Maricia and Bob were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook some of your meals. The beach here is very quiet and serene- a great place to relax, read or just enjoy the ocean view. As the description says, it is a fair distance from the village, so you definitely need a car.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

My husband and I loved this place. Very clean, very private and they had every creature comfort we were used to. We loved being able to cook our own meals and if we wanted to venture out to a nearby restaurant, that was within reach as well. Very good meals in town! The owners have 2 beautiful dogs that are very nice and helped keep us feeling safe. We loved the quiet nature of the area, although we did go in the off season. The only not so great part were the bugs, but really nothing to troublesome. Favorite part was sitting on the pier just staring out into the ocean.Recommended for: Sightseeing

Our vacation was march 17 through April 2. Beachfront suites was exactly what we were looking for - peace, tranquility, seclusion. We loved not having tv or phones. We can't say enough good things about Palcencia. Our day tours included: snorkeling (4xs),snorkeling on a private island and once to a public island. Mark scuba dived with Avadon Divers at Glovers reef. We toured the Monkey River and Sittee River. We hiked to 2 waterfalls (Antelope Trail and the Tiger Fern Trail. both were worth the hike. If you go, take plenty of water and snacks and don't forget your swimsuits. We went horseback riding and toured a banana farm. We visited the ruins, went horseback riding, visited a banana farm, cave tubing, and river tubing and spent a day at Hopkins. The sunrise from the suites is the best I have ever seen. We walked on the shore, swam and snorkeled at the suites, and even had time to relaxed in the hammock on the pier. We did alot, but have not done all the things we wanted to. The Palcencia Village is great, unique shops and very friendly people. The food is very basic and delicious. We booked several of our tours with Caribbean Tours in the village. If you plan to dive, Avadon divers is who you want to book with. They were great! If you want to snorkel on the private island, go to the gas station across from the police station or Hokey Pokey and ask for Rene. We met him through word of mouth from another tourist. Our visit to Belize and especially Palencia is one we will never forget. Oh, I almost forget to mention the coral reefs are out of this world. No two areas are the same. And yes, we saw manatees, sea turtles, howling monkeys, iguanas, geckos, squash, jaguar footprints. If you are a bird watchers, Belize will be paradise to you.Did you find this review helpful? We had a great time at Beachfront Suites! What a beautiful room and just the right size. We loved waking up and walking right out on to the beach. The dock is so peaceful - one day we saw Manatees swimming by! There are many great places to eat and shop nearby - make sure to try Wendy's Restaurant and Tutti Fruiti ice cream. There are also plenty of things to do - we definitely suggest snorkeling and you just MUST visit Xunantunich. I would highly recommend Beachfront Suites as a beautiful and affordable place to stay when visiting Belize. We look forward to coming back!Did you find this review helpful?
