The condo was better than advertised. We loved our stay. We had six people and the living area was great. The location was perfect. Right across from a beautiful beach (7 Seas) with an easy walk to some absolutely gorgeous and deserted beaches ( take the trail at the west end of 7 Seas beach). The nature preserve that is within walking distance is also great as well. We really enjoyed the bioluminescent lagoon that was in the nature preserve. El Yunque rain forest is also a must. We also chartered a boat to Iocacos island from Captain Mingo in Las Croabas. Beautiful beach and great snorkeling. We also enjoyed nearby El Estacion restaurant. After each day we had a wonderful place to relax. Myrta was an attentive owner and covered every detail. Thee were beach towels, chairs, an umbrella and a washer/dryer. It was really a home away from home. We would recommend this condominium very highly.

What more can I say, than has already been said. I agree 100% with all of the good things previous patrons have said. The condo was PERFECT for my family and 3 of our grandchildren (our group was 4 adults and 3 children). The Location couldn’t be better… access to a wonderful beach, next to a beautiful and historic nature reserve (Las Cabezas de San Juan) and a very secure compound with excellent amenities. The grandkids would have been happy just to spend the week in the swimming pool ;-) This is a great place to stay, in a great location. You could not find a better accommodation to see the wonderful places on the east end of Puerto Rico !!!!!!! Be sure to visit El Yunque rain forest and take a day trip to Culebras Island. We also took day trips to see El Moro in Old San Juan and to see the radio telescope at Arecibo. BTW, do NOT take the Kayak tour of the luminescent bio bay… the evening tour of the Nature Reserve at Las Cabezas de San Juan is half the cost and five times more interesting and informative (be sure make a reservation online BEFORE your trip). Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Muchas gracias Myrta and José !

We stayed a week at Myrta's condo. 4 teenagers and 2 adults and thee was plenty of space. The pictures does not do justice to this beautiful place, the pool and the beach right across the street- Things we did; if you walk down to the far end of the beach there is a path that will take you to some beautiful secluded beaches - watch out for the currents! Go to the rain forest and hike to the falls to swim- we also spend a day on Culebra, great beaches and good snorkeling, make sure you are early to get tickets for the ferry. Both restaurant down the street are great. Altogether a great vacation- the teenagers loved it and we will be back:-D

The condo itself is very spacious and was more than adequate for our family of 6 adults. We especially enjoyed the large balcony. The place is bright and cheerful. We were pleased to enjoy the Christmas decorations as well.We have rented many condos before yet have never found so many amenities, including a full kitchen and even beach toys. The unit has a pool which we didn,t use as the beach is right there. Although you need a car, grocery stores are not far away. We also found a beautiful beach( more populated but lovely) a short drive away. We found Myrta to be very helpful in recommending restaurants and offering support at any time. We have no hesitation in recommending this place.

This was our second stay at Myrta and Tony's place. Once again, it was perfect. The apartment was clean and well furnished with everything you could need. The location is ideal close to restaurants and stores with beaches and snorkeling right across the street. The complex is safe and private. Myrta and Tony made us feel like family. We've been to Fajardo dozens of times and this is definitely the best place to stay on the northeast side of the island. We can't wait to go back next year.

This condo was perfect. Very spacious and comfortable. If you stay here definitely go to Culebra for the day. Flamenco beach ranks in the top 10 in the world and you can snorkel with sea turtles! If you want to go out to eat while in Fajardo, El Pasion is really nice and has amazing sea food, La Estacion also has great food and an awesome outdoor atmosphere, and finally El Racar has fun karaoke right on the street. The Hidden Beach is gorgeous and definitely worth hiking to. Overall, we had a great time while staying in the condo!

We found Myrta and José’s condo while looking for an alternative to staying at El Conquistador Resort during a conference. El Conquistador is nice and all, but it is far removed from the realities of that which exists around it. Having no particular desire to be hidden from anything on this trip, we emailed Myrta and enquired about her condo. I’m glad we did. We reached Luis Muñoz Marín at 7:30 pm and got to the condo gate around 9:30. Myrta and José greeted us upon arrival and gave a cheerful tour of the place, along with an accompanying set of instructions, keys, and some helpful tips about things to do around the area. They were very nice. The condo has an open, social floor plan and, most importantly, a great kitchen. The ability to entertain friends and experience the intimacies of buying and cooking with local ingredients figured highly into our plans to enjoy Puerto Rico, so this worked out well. (Also, Puerto Rican ants are no less pleasant company than the Iowan ants we’re acquainted with, so they were never much of an imposition; I certainly wouldn’t describe them as a problem.) The condo has everything you could possibly need, and far more than what the majority of your neighbors around you will have. Fajardo is fairly compact, so most places there are close to popular (and good) restaurants like La Estación and Pasión por el Fogón, as well as other destinations such as the bioluminescent bay, etc. Indeed, many of these places would theoretically fall within easy walking distance if either sidewalks or ordered traffic existed there. But as a rule neither does, so walking around town is an exhilarating option best exercised only by those with a great appreciation for adventure. As such, one thing that makes this condo special is that it sits directly across the street from Seven Seas, making it easy to enjoy the beach without having to drive to it -- or better yet, from it. Overall impression: The safest plan for escaping the realities of everyday life in Puerto Rico is to stay at a resort like El Conquistador, where windows stay closed, the A/C stays on, and the grounds stay preened and sprayed to fantastical effect. (The resort does own Palomino Island, which would make a night’s stay there worthwhile. On the other hand, the food nearly cancels out that benefit.) However, we agreed that staying at the condo provided a much more meaningful experience. I recommend it. Favorite activities: El Yunque, Seven Seas, home cooking.

We stayed at this condo the end of May, 2012. Upon booking this unit we assumed there was A/C for the entire unit. When we arrived, we discovered the unitsin the bedrooms were in working order but were told by the owners that the A/C for the main rooms - living and kitchen area - did not work. The unit needs to be treated for a terrible ant problem in the kitchen area. The unit also needs a major cleaning and decluttering in the closets and kitchen cabinets. I would ask if these issues have been taken care of before booking this unit. Would also make sure you let owners know exactly how many people will be in your party as you are charged for extra person(s) that may be traveling with you. I did not expect this surprise since the unit says it sleeps 6 people. We had 4 in our party. Would not recommend this unit.

Owner response: Hi to all my future renters! I love to share my future home with all of you, you will get exceptional care from us, friendly and at your service during your stay. Any personal problems or problems with the apartment will be taken care of promptly, we are only 10 min. away! Just let us know. What I offer in my ad at VRBO and HOME AWAY is exactly what you will get: 3 individually air conditioning units working properly,as a matter of fact one of them brand new due to a guest's misuse, ceiling fans in the living and kitchen areas. The apt. is very breezy, cross ventilation, so you will have tropical atmosphere all day long. I'm considering installing a unit for this part of the apt., so I will let you know, just ask don't "assume" anything. My kitchen cabinets are well stocked, my husband has now developed a knack for cooking, he is CHEF ANTONETTI now, so you can buy your groceries knowing that you'll find what you need to cook a great meal and save a lot, not having to go to restaurants everyday. The closets in every bedroom are empty for you to hang your clothes, in one of the bedroom closets I have two fold away beds (as advertised) for those guests who need them. I welcome six to eight persons in the apartment, there are 3 bedrooms ea. with a queen sized bed, plus the beds stated above. I will quote your rental fee based on length of stay and persons in party. According to this I will send you a contract where you specify names and ages of persons in party, you sign and send it back. If after signing you want to add more persons please notify the additions before arriving and I will let you know if I approve and if there will be extra charge. The apt. accommodates six to eight persons but you must declare them in the contract. Fair? My apt. is located in one of the best condos this side of the island, only 30 units just across the beach, very spacious and very well appointed. Fumigated monthly, if you find the little bitsy summer ants, don't be afraid of them, call me, and I will come with the ANT BUSTERS, but this li'l ants are not residents, they come from outside if you leave food on the counters........... Finally to all my past renters; thanks for your splendid reviews I appreciate every one of them, I learn from what you have to say and they all give insight on the persons you are. MYRTA

This is the best apartment in the east area! We used to stay at El Conquistador Hotel, but not anymore after staying in this exclusive place! The owners Myrta and Jose are a beautiful couple that makes you feel right at home. The apartment is very comfortable and well decorated, plus it is very romantic. The beach (walking distance) is the best and the pool is great. We have stayed twice and plan to repeat as many times as possible before Myrta and Jose decide to live there permanently (we will still beg them to allow us to rent at least once per year...)

Excellent condo with all amenities needed. Beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, little coolers....the condo is located right across from Seven Seas. You just cross the street! On the weekends it can be loud and noisy, we were there over Easter holiday so it may have been busier than usual. During the week it was quiet and calm with night noises of only the lovely coqui frog and cricket sounds ( loved it!). Even when it was crowded we enjoyed the liveliness and the flavor of the culture. The condo is very spacious and big enough for a family of six to seven. Make sure you walk to the hidden beaches behind seven seas....absolute gorgeousness, but only to see and not swim! The condo also is nicely located for all other activities, such as the rain forest, luquillo beach ( very beautiful) and day trips. We loved the various restaurants, definitely try oleliolel, estacion and metropol. Metropol although not great for ambience was great for food. The others have both ambience and food. If you go to the kiosks at Luquillo try # 12 and #29. The burger shack (12) has great limon ginger mojitos!! We really loved puerto Rico, and hope to return for more fun. We would definitely stay at Myrtas place again!!

Owner response: Awesome review, even I will take your recommendations as to that mojito! Thanks for an all inclusive review, Myrta

Your home was perfect for the 7 of us (3 adults and 4 children). It is a perfect home base for relaxing and exploring the surrounding areas: El Yunque Rainforest, Bio Bay Kayaking, a trip to Old San Juan and so on. We were very impressed by the condo, very well equipped with everything you need and more, including beach towels, etc. As previous guests noted, book ahead for the tour of Las Cabezas which is right next door and book early for the kayak bio-luminescence tours (both were full when we were there). We drove to Arecibo on the west side of the island to visit the Rio Camuy caves and the radio-telescope: it was about a 2 hour drive on good roads. The kids had fun at the pool, and we had a relaxing time at the condo and on the beach! Thanks, we will surely use VRBO in the future again.

We (family with 2 teenagers) spent 8 very pleasant days exploring Fajardo with this condo as our base. The area is safe and the pool and grounds very pleasant and never crowded during our stay. Two restaurants, Costa Mia and Calizo (a little farther; you'll see it as you drive to the condo) are within walking distance and we enjoyed them both. A nicely maintained park/beach, Seven Seas, is right across the street and from the west side of the beach you can hike for 10-15 minutes (go right at first fork) to several pristine beaches, where you will be stunned to be alone with such beauty. We kayaked with Pure Adventure for a day and they took us right to these same beaches, paddling beyond the reef and back, and returning through mangroves via the lagoon -- a great adventure. To appreciate El Yunque we hired John Druitt of Island Walkers and he tailored the hike for us and was a wealth of information; well worth his fee. If you stay here you must book ahead to take the tour of San Juan de las Cabezas – google it and go on their webpage the Sunday before your trip and book it on line -- it's the only sure way to get into the only weekly English tour at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday You can walk on their beautiful, long beach from the condo, but the tour is a must to become aware of the flora and fauna of this amazing area and to see the views from the lighthouse. While on the tour we saw a demonstration of the Laguna Grande's bioluminescence at the light house that was better than the evening kayaking to the lagoon because it was a full moon and we couldn't see it well at all. If you want a day sail, Erin Go Bragh (info in Myrta's book in the condo) can't be beat -- great food, highly competent sailors, excellent snorkeling gear and we were all alone snorkeling beautiful reefs for a good part of the day. Thanks, Myrta, for making your condo available for an excellent vacation spot with lots to do and a great place to stay and relax in, too.

Owner response: Nancy, I appreciate your review and thank you for your stay. Your comments are like a guide to future renters, letting all know that our condo is really just across the beach, walking distance, no car needed to enjoy the beach. Our condo, as you say, is very private and a wonderful home base for all there is to see in our area, Myrta

We stayed here for a week and the condo is very very nice, it has everything a person could want full kitchen, bug spray, sun lotion, laundry stocked bathrooms, towels and even toys and snorkeling equipment in the condo. Stores are close as well as food, great food just a block to the right as you come out the gate. For a nice hike to the left on the beach and trail and you get to two secluded beaches that are like you only see in the movies or you can go to the right on the beach and go to the other point and snorkel at the wave brake and see all kinds of sealife on the reef. You are minutes away from the marinas for sailing, fishing, snorkel trips and mini boats if you are want an adventure. The place is very clean and kept up to the most exact standards. Myrta is a delight to deal with and full of knowledge of the surrounding areas and things to do. The beach is wonderful and the place is very safe, much more so than some of the other beaches like Laquillo. Had an issue there with car being broke into but that has nothing to do with this area or this condo complex. Palma Vista everyone there is so nice, the grounds are groomed daily and you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner condo or complex anywhere in the world. Hats off to you Myrta you have a great place to call home and we enjoyed it to the utmost. We will be back. The Bakers

We stayed at Palma Vista for our honeymoon and loved the condo. The condo was exactly as described/pictured. It was clean, well-maintained, beautifully decorated and had everything needed (linens, complete kitchen setup, beach chairs/towels, snorkeling gear, etc.). Myrta was great! She communicated with us (email and telephone) promptly prior to the trip and sent detailed directions for the drive from the airport to the condo. Upon arrival, she and her husband Jose met us at the condo to provide keys and show us around the condo. The ocean can be seen from the balcony (just across the parking lot). Seven Seas beach is just steps away (across the street) and is long enough to go for a nice walk or find a secluded spot farther down the beach near the nature preserve. Our favorite beaches were Playa Escondido and Playa Colora, which are accessed via a trail through the mangroves on the western side of Seven Seas beach. (From the condo, cross the street, turn left, and walk to the end of the beach. Follow the signs to the trailhead.) These beaches were secluded and very quiet. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots/pans, and utensils. Throughout the week, we both cooked in and ate out. (There are several modern grocery stores and a Wal-mart on PR 3 near the turnoff to the condo.) We also bought some wonderful local fruit from a roadside stand. In terms of dining out, we really enjoyed both La Estacion and OleLelolai. Both had good vegetarian options (the mofongo and rice and beans are excellent!) and both gave very large portions -- enough for us to eat leftovers for another meal. OleLelolai was very elegant with wonderful ambiance and great balcony views of the ocean at night.

Owner response: Our best wishes for a happy life together, it was our pleasure to have you on the start of your marriage. Hope to have you back in one of your anniversaries!!! Best Regards, Myrta and Jose

We've travelled to Fajardo many times and decided that this was the best place we've ever stayed. The apartment was very clean, modern and comfortable with everything you need. The complex is not too large and very quiet. It's also very well maintained and secure (thanks Don Samuel!). The location is terrific. Directly across from the beach, close to great local food, shopping, and all the vacation activities you might want (biobay, kayaking, snorkeling, rainforest, etc). Myrta was a perfect host. She even called during our visit to make sure everything was satifactory. We will definitely be back.
