We stayed at this awesome house from June 20-27th. From the moment we saw it from the road to the drive to the house we were awe struck. What a beautiful house and setting. We cooked out almost everynight and sat around outside just relaxing after a long day of activities listening to the "night life" come alive in the surrounding woods. Jackie was an awesome person to work with - from offering advice from where to shop to where the nearest grocery store was - which was all very helpful in allowing us to enjoy our time without worrying about the little details of the surrounding area. It was also great to have a washer and dryer on site - plus all the other amenites of home which, allowed us to relax and enjoy! We will definatly be back in the future!

Second year in a row that we have chimed in the new year at this property; top shelf accommodations and fantastic logistics from Marianne! Our family has a penchant for discovering new places each year, but this property drew us back AND we discovered new things. Don't forget to hike Tent Rock National Monument (between ABQ and Sante Fe)...absolutely amazing hike in the midst of a snow storm!

This house provided a wonderful setting for our family Christmas get together. The open floor plan is perfect for a large gathering. Decor is beautiful - actually better than shown in the listing photos. Kitchen is very well appointed and conveniently laid out. Appreciated having WiFi and broadband internet connection and thanks for being pet friendly.

My family recently stayed at this beautiful house and it fit us perfectly. There were 11 of us and we shared wonderful memorable meals together at the large table. We experienced exciting afternoon thunderstorms and quiet mornings with hot coffee on the large patio and listening to the birds. We also enjoyed a fire at night in the chimera and toasted marshmallows on the cool nights. We enjoyed the casual hike nearby and the more strenuous hike up to the top of the hill that overlooks Albuquerque and surrounding areas. One thing that could have enhanced our cooking options would have been a full size barbeque rather than the large tabletop one. However the double ovens were a suitable alternative. Lastly, the proximity to Albuquerque was superb. All arrangements/communications were professional and consistent with our expectations. A fabulous experience!!

This was a wonderful home and Casita for our families from IN, IL, CA and FL to meet and have a great week. The house was awesome with room for everyone. The FL family had not seen snow in 3 years. They made a nice snowman. All of us enjoyed the light snow a couple of mornings. We had snow up at the house and 50 degree weather in ALQ for all the fun things like ballooning and Segways. We all love to cook which we did every day. We try to find a house out of the ordinary for our vacations. This house fit the bill and had everything we needed and wanted. Marianne was a great hostess. We were very pleased. The dining table accommodated all for food and games. Could not have asked for a better place with wonderful scenery and all the conveniences we needed.

Our first experience with a VRBO rental and we think we picked the best. The home and location were beautiful. We loved the master bedroom with the high windows, watching the full moon and stars move across the sky at night and listening to the coyotes howl. Even though the weather was a little colder then we would have liked after coming from Wisconsin and expecting 70's, as soon as the sun came out it was still very comfortable sitting on the patio with a hot drink. The home had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Marianne our host, was so helpful in letting us know the closest or best shopping and restaurants, not to mention all the sights to see in the area. We would love to do a family reunion here and there's certainly more than enough room especially with the casita. We look forward to returning, maybe in fall this time. If you want a great getaway location but still close enough to activities and attractions, this is it!

We were so LUCKY... When we arrived we had just gotten 12+ inches of snow which made the trip even better! The house was incredible and the scenery beautiful! We are definitely going back in the summer, where we can hike the trails and enjoy the outdoors more! We rented the house and the casita, which was awesome within itself! Thanks Marianne for everything!

We stayed two separate times in this lovely home within the last two months. We were relocating to Albuquerque from the UK and the first time we stayed was while house hunting. The house was a fabulous retreat for us at the end of busy days. The location is so beautiful with a host of wildlife and the most incredible views from the living area. The kitchen has everything you would need and we would often just stay in and cook because everything was so comfortable Marianne is a great source for information such as the best places to visit and the most scenic routes to take. She is just an email or phone call away for any advise needed and having an office complete with printer was so convenient to us while we were in the process of buying our house. We loved the property so much we came back in November for another 10 days while closing and just to rest from the exhaustive relocation. Having rented several properties through VRBO this has been by far our best experience and I have recommended this house to friends who would like a mountain home experience with the convenience of being only 20 mins from Albuquerque.

My family just returned home from our week long Christmas vacation in this home. We decided to spend Christmas away this year, with my family of four, my husband's brother's family of four and their mother and sister, a total of 10. We had a wonderful time! The house was set up beautifully and had everything we needed. We love to cook and we cooked most of our meals and really had everything we needed in the kitchen! We had plenty of room for sleeping and the house was very comfortable for us. It even snowed, to give us a white Christmas! Thanks to Marianne for all the great communication and please! Go and enjoy this wonderful vacation house!!

We had such a wonderful vacation while staying in this great house. Thanks Marianne for your easy to follow directions. The house is very comfortable and so child friendly that another time we may bring our grandchild. I think most children would enjoy star gazing, bird watching, and talking to the resident bunny who scampers across the front yard...lots of space to run and for outdoor games too. No children along this time though - we four adults explored Tijeras, Albuquerque, and up to Santa Fe during the days and played dominos at the spacious dining table in the evening. We were so busy we didn't leave enough time for nature walks - shame on us. Good food, lattes, and Italian sodas nearby in Tijeras, and the Sandia Tram Ride in Albuquerque is a must do. We all agreed that this wonderful property was so much better than staying in a hotel. Also, we appreciated the recycling bins. Thanks for everything Marianne.

We had a wonderful stay at the beautiful home. We had a mini-reunion of sorts with some friends and this was the perfect setting. The patio was great for enjoying the afternoon and evening weather. We loved to see the birds and wildlife just outside the door. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals in and the lovely, large dining table was quite accommodating. We walked from the house to great hiking trails. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience! We all would like to return again, but perhaps for a longer stay.

We had a family reunion and this was a great location. My family stayed in the casita, nice for 1 adult and 3 kids. It was a nice place to relax after a day in town. It gets pretty dark at night since you are away from town but the star gazing was great! Evenings we also spent around the chimenea catching up with family and the large dining table was good for family dinner. We visited Old Town, Atomic Museum, Sandia Peak and Santa Fe on our visit. We did some hiking nearby. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and dinnerware. Good for a family reunion!

The house and the location were lovely! The sound of the breeze blowing through the forest made us think that we were by the ocean. The highlight was making a fire on the patio at night at gazing at the stars. We were very appreciative to find such a pleasant place in which to stay.

We had a great time at this lovely home. The setting was so quiet and serene, exactly what my city kids needed for a nice vacation/family reunion. We loved that the house was so open and we could enjoy each other even when we were in the kitchen preparing meals. The large TV was great for the kids (the little one and the big ones) as they played our Wii. We got some great family pictures on the beautiful patio. The forest around the house added just the right background. Marianne was great. Thanks so much for the perfect driving directions. You have no idea how much they were appreciated as we got in after dark and were exhausted from a grueling drive. Thanks too for all the extra information and advice; it all came in handy. The last day, my California grandkids got to see snow fall for the first time and they loved that! They even built a very small snowman on the Chimera:-) Thanks for everything. It was a wonderful trip for everyone. Loved the house, loved the location, pine trees all around, secluded, totally restful. Enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and HUGE! HDTV! The house provided a perfect setting for our family to meet over our daughters' college spring break. While it was convenient to many hikes and tourist activities, we mainly enjoyed using the house and all its amenities to relax and catch up with each others lives. Marianne was a wonderful and accommodating host. Many thanks!

We enjoyed our family reunion over New Years week. Our traveling kin arrived from Pittsburgh, PA and Columbia, MO. As local Albuquerquenos, we knew the Cedro Peak area is a beautiful place; we like to hike and mountain bike on the nearby trails whenever we can. All of our family equally enjoyed the house nestled in the pinon pines and the brightness of the stars at night. The house had all the modern comforts and was large enough for our clan to share the space and good company. Marianne, the property manager, thoughtfully helped with all the little things and was kind enough to shuttle the gals to Albuquerque while the boys were at the El Paso Sun Bowl with the ALL of the car keys. Looking forward to the next visit. Joe and Beth Laird

My family (and extended family) stayed at this fabulous house and casita over Christmas, 2008 and had a wonderful experience! The house and casita are beautiful - modern, yet comfortable and well-equipped. We loved the wood-burning stoves, comfy beds, and all the sights and smells of the beautiful pinion forest. The owners thought of everything, even providing firewood and sleds for our winter adventures! An unforgetable, marvelous vacation! We can't wait to come back!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this beautiful place and everyone absolutely loved it. The tucked away home nestled in the trees was so peaceful. The house is so nice, the pictures just do not show how absolutely beautiful it is. We had plenty of room for our family to stay with us and the guest house was comfortable and very roomy. We had an amazing time on the front patio with the nice chiminea. We danced and enjoyed the nice star lite night. We were able to make a great big breakfast in the wonderfully modern kitchen and sat around the large table and enjoyed each others company. All in all it was an amazing time and we look forward to enjoying a nice, comfortable winter weekend there soon. Thanks for all your help Marianne you were so pleasant to deal with, you made everything happen with ease and we definitely appreciated this on such an important day for us. You have such a great place there.

My family stayed here with my cousin from Texas back in early October. What a wonderful house! It was big enough to accommodate both families (with little children). It is a gorgeous home set back from the road and surrounded by woods. The appliances are all modern and the open floor plan is very spacious. I love this place and we had a great time. I am looking forward to staying here again next year! I highly recommend this home. And it was a pleasure working the owner/agent! Tom

We had a wonderful time. The seclusion was wonderful along with the wild life. We went from short sleeves to snow. We were able to relax in comfort and class. I would recommend this property to anyone I know that is planning a trip to the area. Both of us would return in a heart beat! The family in charge of this property are very special people and made our trip complete.
