We are 2 couples who recently rented this property to spend a few days on SoBo after a cruise. After reading some of the previous reviews of this property I was a bit concerned about it being dated. DO NOT in any way be concerned about that. the property was perfect for our stay. The kitchen appliances are state of the art and I would happily cook there every day (although we did eat out at dinner time). We requested an early check in and were readily accomodated. We didn't have to lug our bags around SoBe after the cruise and instead settled into the condo straight away and enjoyed the whole day on the beach. Our flight home was unexpectedly cancelled due to weather and we had to spend an extra day in Miami (so sad....lol). We opted to stay near the airport but requested a later check out so that we could spend the day on the beach....once again our request was readily fulfilled. The bedrooms are huge and the entire unit is very clean. There were PLENTY of towels for 4 people. The only thing that was a bit tight was closet space in the 2nd bedroom....but not a huge problem. The location is outstanding....very close to Lincoln road and Ocean Drive. Walk out the back of the resort and you are on the beach. This place is excellent value and we will most definitely stay here again if we return to SoBe.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is the place to stay in South Beach! We have been coming to South Beach every year for over 10 years. We have stayed at many different locations, but never quite satisfied with the accommodations. This townhouse is very clean, and has all the amenities of home. The appliances have been updated since the pictures, and are top quality. The view from the balcony over looks the pool, and gives you a view of the ocean. The Shelbourne has under gone a complete overhaul. The pool, and grounds leading to the ocean are beautiful. The location is in walking distance to Lincoln Road, and Ocean Drive. Angelo was an absolute joy to work with, and so helpful. We will only stay here from now on.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Shelborne property is a very nice stay, and working with the owner; Peter was a pleasure. The condo is older, but very comfortable and couldnt say enough nice things about Peter. He always called back when I had a question. Thanks again Peter for a great vacation. When we were leaving, they were filming an episode of Burn Notic in the loby. Really cool.

First the bad stuff: Local contact, although very nice, was unaware we were arriving so we woke her to meet us at 10pm. Poor communication with owner. Fully stocked kitchen but NO BOWLS! I ate my cereal out of a coffee mug the first morning. And no spoons besides large serving spoons. Not stocked with basics, i.e., enough toilet paper, no paper towels, dish soap or kleenex. Bring your own bath soap. It wasn't the cleanest, wasn't the dirtiest I've seen but still not as great as i expected. Didn't "feel" clean. Crappy furniture, extremely dirty rug. Broken light in the master bedroom (maybe the lightbulb was out and no one could reach the cathedral ceiling). Empty booze bottles in one closet. Master bedroom stays bright as day ALL NIGHT because of the pool lights and light fabric curtains. Now the good: Great location. Although you can tell it's an OLD property, it's great for walking to Lincoln Road. 17 blocks to Ocean & 1st. Walgreens/CVS 2 blocks away. Beds were comfy but the 2nd bedroom bed frame was broken! Wouldnt stay in this unit again . . .but would stay in the other privately owned condos at this hotel. they looked AWESOME on the inside.

06/23/09 Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in South Beach. The townhome was great for our family of 5. The location was perfect. I want to thank you for working out the rental. I will be sure to recommend it to anyone visiting Miami!

Hi! Yes, everything worked out really well and we had a great time. The location was fabulous and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed ourselves so much :) I mentioned to the house/gate keeper that she should have more rolls of paper towels and a few garbage bags in the apartment for our convenience.

10/11/09 Hello, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time. checking in with Stacy was great, a very pleasant woman who took her time to explain everything. The apartment is beautiful and met all are needs, the kids had a great time even on Sat when it rained all day . My only complaint was the parking situation which was a couple blocks away or at a meter which you had to make sure you were there at the minute or be ticketed(my Mom), we were not allowed to park at the hote, due to limited parking space they stated. We will definitely come back.

4/14/09 The unit was nicely laid out and generously stocked with towels, kitchen cutlery and glasses. The pots and pans were also great and allowed us to do some good cooking. We had to run the dishwasher after every meal, even for four of us, because there weren't enough plates for two meals. The new appliances were a lot of fun-- very high tech and I've never had appliances play music to me to tell me the cycle was finished! A few suggestions would be to supply more trash bags, a broom, and better reception for the second bedroom television. Internet access would have been great in the townhome too.

The unit was just fair. The carpet looked like it hadn't been changed in several years. Very dirty. The location was OK, but the overall unit was not worth the money. This unit needs a major overhaul before it is even rented out again. The furniture is terribly outdated and dingy. It makes the entire complex look bad. In addition, I never received my deposit back from the owner although the condo was left in the same condition. The owner never returned my emails & dodged my phone calls. Don't waste your money. Worst experience I've ever had renting from a private owner & I won't do it again.

This townhouse is so beautiful. All new appliances, spacious living room & bedrooms. Good location & a decent view of the beach. I will definitely stay here again. Peter & Gail are very polite and answer all of your questions.

Overall the townhome was wonderful. The location is fantastic, the beach is right out the door and Lincoln road is one block away. The townhome is well maintained with excellent amenities. The property managers were very accomodating and helpful. The negatives are minor but include the following: The pool at the Shelbourne was not heated. The townhome overlooks the pool and fountain and it was a little noisy during the day. The WiFi was not functional, although we were warned in advance to bring an ethernet cord. There were minimal cleaning supplies - a broom would have been helpful.
