Located in Lenox, just a block outside of the town center on a quiet dead-end street. Recently restored Colonial home offers all new, top of the line appliances (Thermador stove, Flos lighting, Kitchen Aide mixer, All-clad pots/pans, baking pans, Vietri tableware, but no microwave, maple floors, marble counter tops, updated bathrooms and professionally decorated living spaces. Living room, separate dining room, as well as den/TV room. (basic cable). Sleeps six comfortably with extra pull-out couch in den for guests.
(Note: The house is 2800 sq ft. and can sleep 8-9 people in the 3 bedrooms and one den. However, we prefer to limit that number to no more than 6.)
St. Anns Ave is a quiet dead end street which has not changed much in the past 100 years. In our full renovation in 2003, we tried to maintain the character of our old house by leaving all the long plank hardwood floors and the old wooden windows and repaired rather than replaced plaster walls and vintage plumbing fixtures. We selected antique sconces and whenever possible the furnishing are in keeping with the period when the house was built. However, comfort is key; you'll love to curl up on the new down stuffed living room couch or doze on the Shifman mattress.
Relax and enjoy the grill or a cool drink on the wrap around porch and in our perennial garden. Although the center Lenox is a three minutes walk. There you will find fine dining, shops, playgrounds, tennis-courts, spa services and more.
Tanglewood is less than five minutes by car, Shakespeare and Company, a mile down the road. Hiking trails are a short walk up the hill and Laurel lake two miles away. Get into the rhythm of a peaceful country life never too far from all Berkshire attractions and the amenities Lenox provides.

Why the Owner Chose Lenox
We bought the home as a full time residence. Lenox is a great place to be all year round. It's quiet and safe, but provides cultural attractions that rival many big cities. Now that our three boys are grown, we spend less time in Lenox and more time travelling. But Lenox is an easy place to come back to. Everybody knows your name.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We travel all over the world spending time above all in New York, Portugal, Italy. When we return from these hectic places, our time in Lenox is spent out in nature as much as possible. Our neighborhood is quiet even during summer months when town is full to the brim. Our house is great for outdoor dining and is a short walk to the center of Lenox as well as hiking and biking trails. Of course we enjoy Jacob's Pillow and Tanglewood as well!

I found this house for my family to stay in on our wedding weekend, and it worked out perfect! Right in town the location was perfect and it was so comfortable everyone felt right at home! We arrived later than anticipated but had no problems finding the house and getting right in so everyone could rest from their travels. Andrea, the owner, left lots of great information so they could get around with ease. It could not have worked out better and my family really enjoyed the charm of the history and antiques in the house itself. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy the Berkshires and be in the heart of Lenox (our favorite town!) with easy access to all it has to offer and the surrounding towns just down the road!

My husband and I spent an extremely enjoyable week in this beautiful Lenox home which was a few short blocks from the center of town. The owner was so helpful and recommended wonderful restaurants and places for us to visit. She also helped us decide that Lenox was the perfect location for our vacation as we had never been to the Berkshires before and we were unsure what area to stay. The home was immaculate with beautiful woodwork and lovely furnishings and artwork/photography. It looked just like in the pictures. We would recommend this home to our friends and family and plan on coming back next year.

The owner's description of the house and its proximity to town and nearby attractions is accurate and extremely helpful. We were 6 adults who found the home charming, comfortable and accommodating to our needs, especially the culinary ones. We loved the large, very functional kitchen in which we chatted while the chefs du jour did their thing. And we spent much time eating, then lingering, around the long dining room table or the table on the porch or the one in the landscaped-for-privacy, beautiful back yard. Often we strolled into Lenox to browse the shops, have coffee and croissants, and/or dinner. But also within walking distance are hiking trails in a forested park, not to mention proximity to Tanglewood and the other well-known attractions. (Be sure to drive to the Norman Rockwell Museum--it's a gem). We are grateful to the owners of this home. Everyone in our family loved it.

We stayed in Lenox for 2 weeks the summer of 2008. We had the best time. There is so much to do so close by. The kids got to enjoy this quiet, beautiful, old house with lovely garden which contrasts with our ultra modern noisy, New York apartment. Even the dog was sad to leave. Andrea provides great insights and tips and is always available. The house has everything we needed and is extremely comfortable.
