We made a great choice this year in renting this home. We have been renting Adirondack homes for about 30 years. The home is beautiful inside and out. The rooms are large and very clean. The great room is huge and the view is breath taking. The picture of the lakefront home speakes for itself. The bathrooms are all large and the showers are huge. The front deck is huge and the view is gorgeous. Swimming is great with a sandy bottom. The huge tv was a plus and having internet access was very handy. Can't ask for anything more here with this home, We liked it so much, we rented it agin in 2011.

We stayed in mid October 2009, very chilly nights, but the huge fireplace kept us all toasty. Really a great place for couples or families, we did the couple thing, but we would love to bring the kids. Fantastic waterfront, very close to town. We looking to returning sometime!

Just returned from a fun filled weekend at this gorgeous lakehouse! As promised, the property has all the amenities, is in close proximity to town and the caretaker was just a phone call away. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rental. We hope to visit again soon!

I was doing my best to arrive at the house before dark. I'm glad I did. From the top of the driveway I could see the lake through the windows of the house. What a view!!! The house is beautiful. Nice and open inside. The walk-in showers were my favorite, along with the large outside deck. The leaves were at their peak. Despite some wet conditions, we had a great time. We purchased some wood in town and had a fire lit inside and outside during our stay. I plan on returning again but probably going to try a different time of year. This is a dream home for anyone who loves lakeside living.

Our group stayed the week of September 13-20, 2009. There were 12 of us; the camp is well laid out and there was lots of room for everyone to have their own space. We enjoyed cocktails on the roof of the boathouse each night. The water was nice and warm; there were plenty of lawn chairs for all to enjoy the excellent views. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the fridge large enough to accommodate our needs. The camp is well appointed with true Adirondack decor. We all appreciated the proximity to town and the road was great for the walkers in our group. I would definitely recommend this rental!

We just got back from a week at this house and had a great time. The house is in wonderful shape. We have rented several houses throughout the country and so, are very sensitive to what we see on the web vs. what is there when we arrive. In this case, what you see and read on this site is spot on with what you will experience. The owner is restoring the garage and, I assume the boat house eventually (neither is included in the rental...or needed), but the house is basically complete (one more bath in the basement has a little more work to be done). As noted above, everything is as advertised. The newly finished basement has a small pool table which occuppied our two 15 year olds on many nights. The view is spectacular as the house is situated on the southeast side of 1st lake at the widest point. Very quiet and private with minimal boat traffic. We enjoyed fires outside several nights as well as sunsets throughout the week. We rented a ski boat at Rivets Marine in Old Forge and docked it out front without an issue. The people at Rivets are very nice and it is convenient. The water park in town is fun on a warm day and we also enjoyed the ride up McCauley Mt. where the view is very special. If you are into the nature aspects of the Adirondacks, take a trip up Rts. 28 and 30 to Tupper Lake (1.5 hours) where you will find the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks (The Wild Center). It is relatively new and quite well done. The ride there is fun as well. We thoroughly recommend this place and are going back in '10. Write us with questions. PGM

Our stay overall was great. The house is located on the first lake and is conveniently located close to Old Forge. The view of the lake from the house is wonderful. You will see deer daily and we even had one come through the yard one evening. Should you need to rent a boat I would recommend Rivetts Marine in Old Forge. The boats are in good shape and they are pleasant to deal with. The house is nicely decorated. The washer and dryer are very good front load models, the showers are nice and big and the beds are not bad. There is a nice big screen TV in the main room, a TV in the master bedroom and one in one other bedroom. There is also wireless internet available. Some great family games are there and we recommend playing Catch Phrase. When we arrived, the house was dusty in areas, the floors a bit dirty and several light bulbs out throughout the house. Tree branches also made it difficult to get on the deck of the boat house. We contacted the owner Jeff the next day and he was great. He wanted our stay to be wonderful so he had the caretaker Mark come and take care of everything while we were out boating. I would add that when Mark arrived we pointed out how the master bedroom did not have drapes on the glass doors that overlooked the lake and that the sunlight entered the room at 5:30 am and it would be nice if we had a way to shade the windows. Mark took care of that as well. We were very pleased. Jeff and Mark were great in this regard and that meant a great deal to us. A few items to note are parts of the house are still being renovated and construction materials are around the garage area. The basement does not have heating as of yet and there is pool table with no sticks. The master bedroom has no tub yet and a drawer set in the master bedroom would be nice. For us these were minor issues but things to prepare for should you stay there. Things you must do while staying there: 1. Hike Bald Mountain and Cascade Falls 2. Eat at Slickers in Old Forge and have the French Dip 3. Get some fudge from the Candy Store 4. Build a fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. We had great time and would definitely return.

Our stay at this beautiful home was in January 2009. There was no expense spared in the building of this spectacular house. Even though it was under construction (one of the bathrooms was not completed and the basement was not finished), it didn't matter. We are a large family and there was plenty of room to not be underfoot. The view of the lake can been seen from any room in the house. The decor is perfect for the location, the home does not interfere with nature. It compliments it. Everything about this home inspires appreciation for the natural beauty surrounding it. This home comes highly recommended from a self-described snob =] Even in this rough economy, this place is a steal! Our vacation was geared toward the snowmobile community and the skiing/snowboarding at the local mountain. Both sports exceeded our expectations. The restaurants offered a large variety and the local stores carry everything under the sun. The people in the area are very friendly and willing to offer 'local secrets' of places to go things to see. Don't miss the movie theater - which is like a museum. This home is close enough, but away from it all. We truly enjoyed our stay.
