While Montmartre is best known for its tourists' attractions and its rich artistic and bohemian past, there is much more to this charming district of Paris than the Sacre-Coeur Basilica and the Place du Tertre. Meandering up and down narrow cobblestone streets and outdoor stairways, one encounters a quieter, almost provincial atmosphere, with tiny parks, terraces, and even a microscopic vineyard. Rich in history, offering spectacular views of Paris at every turn, Montmartre is an experience not to be missed.

Situated on the second floor of a tiny building (two flights up, no elevator) the apartment consists of an open floorplan livingroom/bedroom combination, as well as a galley kitchen and "American" style bathroom. Recently renovated, with new hardwood flooring and furnishings, the apartment (approximately 400 sq. ft) is very open, bright, charming and quiet. Thoughtful consideration of prospective guests' needs and comforts makes for a most pleasant experience.

Local shops, markets, cafes and restaurants, as well as nearby inexpensive and efficient public transportation to all points of interest, allow visitors to immerse themselves fully in Parisian life.

What a delightful visit to Paris! We found our stay here home away from home... Being able to relax after a long day of venturing in the city. We enjoyed Montmartre very much - although we still can't pronounce it correctly! The colorful doors and shutters were the subject of many of our pictures. April in Paris is certainly all that the song says it is. It is beautiful and romantic with its bright flowers blooming just about everywhere. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this apartment, Ghislaine, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Merci beaucoup! Portia, Lorraine & Kevin

We had a wonderful 11 days in Paris. You accomodations certainly played a major part in our stay...The only "problem " with the apartment - the bed was much too comfortable.. To the reader: If you have never been here (Paris, this apartment) before, you will be glad you are here. This has been our first week long trip to Paris. This apartment makes us want to return here again and again. As others have said, rue des Saules quickly becomes a quiet place to spend time after a busy day of museums, walking, etc.. We hope to return here soon. I never met a crepe I didn't like. Bob & Pat

What a great location! A week in Paris is fantastic but exhausting if you try to see everything. We have enjoyed enormously having such a lovely retreat to return to each evening. We have been to several of the local restaurants and found them all good. Thanks for the guides, maps, books, etc. It all helped make our stay a great one. We will need to return & see the rest. Au revoir, Margaret & Ross

Our week in paris has been wonderful. Your thoughtfullness, more than the essentials, truly enhanced our stay. We enjoyed the comforts of home - rest - relaxation and aperitif after a day of seeing the sights of Paris and the area. We have visited Paris in the past and truly enjoyed our stay in Montmartre. The neighbourhood, quiet streets and especially the market, which we visited daily. Thanks for sharing your Paris home and for the wealth of information on the area. It was very useful in planning our trip. Merci, Ken & Mary Kay

Dear Ghislaine, Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your apartment here in Montmartre. This was our first trip together to France & it was very nice to have a "home" to return to after a day of sightseeing. Based on your previous guests' comments, we had lunch at the "Poulbot Gourmet". What a hidden treasure! By far our most enjoyable lunch... Your suggestions and maps were very helpful, and we hope to return someday. Au revoir, Cindy & Dennis A.

We absolutely loved the apartment! Our vacation in France was busy and full of sight seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed having your home to come back to each day. Our reason for coming to Paris was to watch the finish of the Tour de France. How exciting that was! and we were able to see so much more. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation in Montmartre! Dear Ghislaine, The apartment is wonderful. You have thought of everything! The decorations are wonderful and the area just perfect for a lovely two weeks in Paris. Loved everything about Montmartre. We went to the "Poulbot" twice and the food, the value and the company of other diners was absolutely the best. We had reall, really fun evenings there. This has truly been delightful and the "home base" added so much to our trip. Barbara & Pete

Dear Ghislaine, Thank you so much for the use of your home the past week. The apartment is beautiful, cozy and very comfortable. Very enjoyable to return to after sightseeing. We have had many exciting experiences, new to both Tom and I, and look forward to returning one day. Particularly enjoyed an evening with friends at the " Poulbot". Food was wonderful. We went to the Louvre on 2 half days and still did not see it all! Musee D'Orsay was well worth the visit. What a beautiful city! Thanks again, Carol and Tom
