If you've ever wanted to spend your vacation in a rustic log retreat, then our home is for you! Completely remodeled in 2008, this beautiful 3 bedroom/2 bath house sits on 3/4 of an acre and is less than a block to the National Forest Service access road for your hiking/biking/4 wheeling/snowmobiling/hunting enjoyment. The Rio Grande River with a boat launch and great fishing is at the bottom of the hill. Wolf Creek Ski Area, which gets the MOST snow in all of Colorado, is a little over 20 miles away. Enjoy beautiful mountain views from every window and from our relaxing upstairs balcony. Spend quality family time without leaving home- playing volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, ping pong, or just exploring the national forest trails behind the house. Gather the family at the rock fire pit in the evenings, roasting marshmallows and reflecting on your day.
Inside, you'll find all the amenities of home. Furnished with beautiful log furniture, hardwood floors, and rustic details throughout, you'll be in a Colorado paradise! The living room has a large screen TV, DVD player, and you can access wireless internet throughout the home. The upstairs game room has a rustic wagon wheel table for playing cards, board games, or just chatting. Try your luck at our full size log blackjack table. Or curl up on the futon with a good book.
You'll love cooking in our full size kitchen, then gathering around the beautiful log dining table for a memorable family meal. After a long day, retire to one of our 3 bedrooms- each furnished with log beds, rustic linens, and a great view of the mountains surrounding South Fork. The downstairs bedroom features a queen size bed and a real cedar closet. Relax in the antique claw foot tub in the downstairs bathroom. Also downstairs is the laundry room, featuring a new washer and dryer. Upstairs, one bedroom features a full size and a twin size bed with a large rustic armoire. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, log dresser, and adjoins the large master bathroom featuring a double sink, tile floors, shower, granite counter tops, and a large closet.

We booked it early and the agent was super nice. Helped us throughout the whole process. We arrived and the whole place was extremely clean and yfor our group. The downstairs is real nice and the kitchen handled all of our needs. The upstairs was even better. Two rooms, large bathroom, big play room it was perfect. Even had a garage that was available for renters. Location was great. Only one small hiccup with water but the owners walked us through and it was PERFECT once again!!!!!! We are gonna try to come back to this lodge again in the future.

We had a great short stay in South Fork. The house was gorgeous on the inside and well stocked for everything. We loved the selection of games and my kids loved that there was a saddle in one of the bedrooms. The only thing that I would tell your renters up front is that the guest must take their trash into town in lidded trash cans provided. I would think that may be difficult for people if they drove a small vehicle, but it was fine for us. Thank you! We will be back next time!

I thought the log home was really cute inside--beautifully decorated and very clean. I found that the kitchen had everything that I needed for cooking; we didn't bother going to any restaurants in the area. I enjoyed looking out the window at the mountains while I sat in front of the "wood-burning" stove. I would recommend this place to others.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for and it certainly lived up to it's description and pictures. Everything is like new and very comfortable. The decor is rustic and so cozy. Plenty of room for everyone and a garage for the truck was a very important and practical feature (our Texas truck couldn't bear the cold temps). We are looking forward to making a trip to this cabin an annual experience for our family.

The fresh scent of pine paneling is your first impression when opening the front door to this terrific home. It is a bit of a sleeper from the outside, but step on in and enjoy the fine finishes and custom western architecural touches that make this home a unique stay. Throw in lovely mountain vistas, mule deer in your front yard, US Forest access a block away for hiking and exploring, s'mores around the fire pit and serene quiet and you have a mix that will certainly leave you wanting more and hating to say goodbye. Thank you Morgans for allowing the Allwines and the Poes to make memories in your home.

Exactly as described, a charming, spacious and well appointed mountain retreat. Four of us stayed here to join a family reunion over at the Fun Valley Resort (8mi away). Very, very pleased and will look to use this cabin again when skiing at Wolf Creek next winter.

Everything was just as listed, clean and well-maintained. The cabin, recently redorated with many mountain touches, log interiors and the "wood stove" gas heaters made everything very cozy for our Spring Break skiing at Wolf Creek. Our party of 4 children and 5 adults was comfortable with the space and entertainment supplied. We cooked all our meals in the well appointed kitchen so we don't know about restaurants. The river was within walking distance or a short drive for summer activities. Deer roamed throughout the subdivision. The owner was very helpful with questions and concerns. I recommend this property.

We feel very fortunate to have found this wonderful retreat! The house is very well appointed and met all of our needs. The area surrounding the house is great for hiking.
