Here, the fun activities begin at your front door and endless wilderness awaits you at the back door. There’s a reason it is called Alaska’s year round recreational playground.

The 1230 square foot Big Lake Guest House, is well equipped and furnished for your comfort. This two-story house has one bedroom (full size bed) on the first floor, and a wide open span with sleeping and entertainment on the second floor (1 King, 1 full bed).
At this quiet and secluded house, the lake and Mountain View is easily admired from the large windows and wrap around deck. The immense yard is 2.5 acres of lawn, native trees, apple trees, and plenty of room for sunning and playing. Plenty of parking room for boats and trailers.

Year Purchased: 1998
We are a family owned business who believe in enjoying the beauty of Alaska. We also have an excavation business, Woody's Works, LLC and are kept very busy between family and business.
Why the Owner Chose Big Lake
The property has been in the family since the 1970's. In 1996 the Miller's Reach Fire destroyed everything, not a single green tree left. We built a new cabin and started over in 1998, planted apple trees and spruce trees and quickly mother nature brought in the native trees. Now, over ten years later, the area is more lush than ever bringing in lots of animals and birds.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The view is just amazing and a peaceful location at the end of the road. Within one-mile there is a pair of nesting bald eagles. While at the cabin the eagles will carry the fish they catch in Big Lake to their young. Sometimes they fly less than 60 feet overhead, great photo opportunity.

I stayed here with a few friends last memorial day. The property was amazing! We were nicely secluded, had a great fire pit to hang around, easy access boat launch with a good place to park the boat, and the owners were extremely accommodating. It also didn't hurt that the weather was probably the best in a least a decade for memorial day. We will be back for sure!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
