Hi Gary and Pam,

We returned last night from beautiful Netarts. Here's the key to the house, with our gratitude. I signed the guest book but want to reiterate that we loved your warm, cozy cabin with the jaw-dropping view.

We loved the happy spirit you created with the travel photos, and the eclectic touches, like the Apple Pie neon sign, which added a rosy glow to the nights. The amenities you provided were fabulous and welcoming.

You created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, making the visit extra relaxing....... ..the star-filled nights were dazzling. --you bring enjoyment to all souls who have been lucky enought to accept your hospitality.

Thanks so much, Gary and Pam for letting us rent your lovely home. We adored every minute and hope to return.

Enjoy the summer and be well,

Jillian

If you're looking for fancy 1st-class accommodations, this is NOT the place for you. BUT, if you're looking for a comfortable, cozy house with a to-die-for view and easy beach access, then look no further. The house is smallish, and simple (I think owner-built based on some pictures on the wall), but with reasonably equipped kitchen, and with TV,DVD,BBQ and wifi. I would say that sleeping 8 would be stretching it. We are a family of 5, and that's probably the max you'd want in there. PROs: Huge wall of windows and deck with killer views, nice fireplace with firewood supplied, great bayfront beach with rocks so you can make a huge firepit for evening bonfires. CONs: It's not a huge house, so it could be cramped if you were cooped up in inclement weather (fortunately not the case for our August stay); the beach is down a moderately steep hill with a short switchback trail through brush (not a problem for reasonably fit folks, but could be for older or disabled guests); guests are responsible for filling the propane for the BBQ (kind of a hassle, since I realized this right before I wanted to BBQ on a Sunday). For novice travelers to the Netarts/Oceanside area: Netarts has a small grocery and a few bars/restaurants, and Oceanside has a coffee shop and restaurant, but no grocery. You will have to stop in Tillamook for a larger, well-stocked grocery store, or at Costco in Portland. That said, this is part of the area's charm, and the lack of a tourism economy here is a HUGE PLUS in my book. My assessment is that the cons are heavily outweighed by the pros, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. We had a great summertime visit in this house!

We stayed at this house with the understanding that it was wheelchair accessible. That is just not so. Yes there is a very steep ramp to get in the front door but that is where the accessibility stops. The bathroom is way to small to get a chair in and the bedrooms are totally inaccessible as they require you go down a spiral stair case or up several stairs to the loft. I was disappointed that the owners told us this was accessible. Our son was stuck on one floor with no access to a bathroom or bed for the three days we were there. Thankfully we brought our own portable commode for him. Also no beach access without going into town because the trail is straight down a hill.

Stayed here for the first time for the '09 winter holidays, and loved every minute. The house is beautiful and super comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed and then some. Two walls of windows give a view to die for. Easy access to the beach on nice days; excellent Wi-Fi connection, cable TV and a wild collection of games for stormy days. Close to local amenities and a short drive to more stuff in Tillamook. Hubby loved communing with the fire in the fireplace; I loved dozing in the big, comfy chair by the window; and the cats had an absolute blast playing on the spiral staircase! Easy communication with very accommodating owner. Have already booked two more stays for 2010 ... that's how much we loved the place!

We've stayed here a few times and always have a wonderful time. When the weather's nice, we walk down the path to the beach and play. When it's rainy, we sit and watch the waves from the large glass windows and relax. This is the perfect place to stay no matter what your plans. And such a quiet area. We are often the only ones on the beach! Plenty of room in the home and very comfortable. Even the bedrooms have floor to ceiling windows. What an amazing thing to wake up to! But you're high up enough that no one can see in. But low enough to be just a quick walk down the private path to the sand. I highly recommend this beach home. We will continue to return time and time again.

This rental property is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the Oregon coast. The house itself is cozy yet spacious (can comfortably fit 5-6 adults for a weekend), and the property is gorgeous. the property is right on the beach, and I love the location -- right near the mouth of Netarts Bay. The bay provides some shelter from the waves, and makes for a very family-friendly beach. It's somewhat isolated from the crowds, so you will pretty much have the beach to yourself. Low tides provide excellent beachcombing, and you can easily walk to the mouth of the bay and onto the "main" beach if you desire. On top of this, just about anything you need is available in a few minutes' drive -- shopping, restaurants, hiking, golf, and more. I have rented this house twice (and hopefully a third time this year), and the owners have been friendly, accommodating, and open in communication every time. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!

Pam and Gary, Just a quick note to let you know that the "dry landers" from Colorado were delighted with your rental home. My husband Dave & I have traveled a great deal on the Oregon coast, staying in many B&B's,inns and cottages. We can think of no other that has offered the sights & sounds of the Northwest Coast as well as your home. Our friends, who were on their first trip to the Oregon coast, were equally as pleased. How fortunate you are to own such a beautiful property & how wonderful for us to have found your web info. Thank you again. I know you will hear from us again. Regards, Dave and Lucy
