This beautiful Wine Country Vacation Home lies hidden at the crossroads of some of the most prized wine producing valleys in the world, and as close as three minutes to Healdsburg's charming, historic Plaza, which is the hub of all the excitement surrounding this World Class Wine Producing Region. "Riverwood" can be reserved as 2 king size suites for up to four guests, or can be configured for 6 to 8 guests, or with with rental of the entire home can accomodate up to 14. The home enjoys a beautiful, private riverfront setting - away from all traffic noise and urban sights and sounds. The stunning riverfront location and unspolied surrounding landscape offers views of lush green mountains, sparkling water, and it's own private beach. Large wrap-around covered decks provide the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors year 'round, and are furnished for dining and lounging. The very spacious interior has open beamed pine ceilings and an impressive dining room. From the moment you arrive you'll be enjoying the aroma of tall cedars, and listening to the babbling of the rapids. You'll know you've come to the right place to relax and unwind. There's the impression of being "far away" but in reality you are only 2.4 miles from the closest wineries, such as Camellia Cellars, Davis Family Vineyards, and Saphire Hill, and just beyond them lie some nearly 90 more! You're in the ideal getaway location where you can enjoy privacy and unwind, while being just a mile or two from all the exciting activity in this World Class wine producing region.
At Riverwood, guests will find many choices of places to gather for conversation. This lovely, spacious home has a comfortable circle of leather sofas surrounding the stone fireplace and log mantle. The grand size dining room with its large custom dining table and views of the river, creates the perfect environment for an unforgettable dining experience. In the kitchen guests enjoy a charming atmosphere and riverview, great rustic furnishings, and a Heartland Range (a high-end contemporary range hidden in a classic reproduction). There are things to impress and delight at every turn. Overlooking the beach and passing canoes you will find the hot tub - the perfect place to soak and unwind. The cedar sauna (the same top-of-the-line model from Sunlight Sauna as demonstrated by Dr. Oz on Oprah's Show on longevity)is enjoyed by guests, and sits overlooking the river. There are kayaks, a hot and cold outdoor shower, a huge recreation room with an indoor ping pong table.
The mattresses and bedding at Riverwood have been carefully chosen with our guests' comfort in mind. We offer three king bed rooms with new Cal-King mattresses, as well as rooms with very comfortable queen and full size beds. There are three bathrooms, and a full size washer and dryer. We take care to provide something to interest every age and activity level, with a library of travel and nature books, board games, a checkers table, videos, beach inflatables, log bench swing, round lounger, picnic table under the trees, fishing poles and tackle (licenses required), two kayaks, life preservers, passes to the upscale Park Point Health Club in Healdsburg with heated lap and children's pools, our own restaurant guides with menus and pricing, shopping information, information on wine tasting at local wineries, and maps and brochures to help our guests explore everything this bountiful area has to offer.

Non-toxic, environmentally friendly products are used for cleaning wherever possible

- Beachfront: The residence is waterfront property, directly on the Russian River, with uninterrupted views of the river and local hills, and has direct access to the beach for walking, sunbathing, boating, rafting, snorkling, or swimmming. We provide two kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. A broad, easy stairway leads from the deck area to the beach below. This is a non-flood location. During the summer months the water is a very comfortable temperature, slow moving, and clear. In the winter the river becomes rapid and ruggedly scenic. Year round guests are drawn to the view of the river, its wildlife, its ebb and flow, and change with the seasons. Its truly a dynamic force, and enjoyable year round. Summer months are marked by canoe traffic, swimmers, and rafting. Float trips of an hour and a half length, ending in Healdsburg, are a popular activity.

Why the Owner Chose Healdsburg
Lisa's great-grandmother, our first family member here at Fitch Mountain, came in the 1920's to serve as the cook at Healdsburg's newly opened river resort, the Camp Rose Inn. Lisa's grandparents came here in the summer to teach their children to swim, as did her parents, who brought her as a child. With fond memories of the area, Lisa sought an opportunity to buy a riverside home and provide similar memories for her children and grandchildren, and others.

Riverwood's owner, Lisa Neisingh, grew up Sonoma County, where her family enjoyed great getaway experiences at their beachfront summer cottage. Wanting to share those sorts of memorable experiences with her children and others, she bought Riverwood Lodge, a vacation home formerly owned by Ollie Spencer, (former Super Bowl winning coach from the San Francisco 49ers); and has been inviting guests to enjoy the lovely home and beautiful setting since 2004.
