Riverwood is one of Wine Country Lodges' four riverfront homes in Healdsburg. We've been inviting guests to enjoy the bountiful pleasures of Sonoma County Wine Country for over six years. Riverwood is our largest home. It has a beautiful riverfront location with covered, year-round, riverview decks, and a spacious interior. It's located in a peaceful wooded area just under one and one half miles from Healdsburg. The home sits above a private beach on the Russian River, where the peaceful location and the comfortable furnishings throughout the home encourage guests of every age to relax, and to enjoy the natural setting and scenic beauty. There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure and waterfront recreation.
At Riverwood, guests will find many choices of places to gather for conversation in this large, inviting home, such as the comfortable circle of leather sofas surrounding the river rock fireplace, with its log mantle. In the kitchen, guests enjoy the charming atmosphere and riverview, while sitting at the handmade kitchen table and chairs to enjoy breakfast. All ages enjoy relaxing on the log swing overlooking the river, or napping on the round lounger, sized for two on the lower deck overlooking the beach and passing canoes. The spa is enjoyed by those wanting to soak and unwind, and a new, infra-red sauna (spring 2009)that seats 5 and has wonderful rejeuvinating properties. There's also a hot and cold outdoor shower. The indoor ping pong table in the large recreation room provides enjoyment for all ages, and there's comfortable furniture and an extra large television there that make the recreation room a favorite place to be. The dining room has lofty pine ceilings and a huge custom table that create a really impressive place to dine. For outdoor dining, the covered deck and outdoor dining tables and BBQ provide a place to enjoy eating out year round. The beds at Riverwood have been carefully chosen with our guests' comfort in mind. We constantly receive comments on the comfort of out beds, most of which are back supportive, queen size, pillow top mattresses, with cedar log head and footboards. There are four queen size beds, two full size, and twins. Two bathrooms serve the upstairs, and the largest, located downstairs, includes a full size washer and dryer. In the great room there is a day bed that can be used for sleeping at night, and we have additional overflow sleeping, as well (please ask).
There is something to interest every age and activity level, with a library of books, board games, videos, kayaks, beach inflatables, two fishing poles (licenses required), and lots of literature and maps to help our guests explore everything this world class wine producing region has to offer.
Our beautiful riverside setting is tranquil and relaxing. The unpretentious, comfortable furnishings, and rustic decor, invite guests to unwind and enjoy the charming accomodations, comfortable beds, the warm hearth, and spacious dining in the great room.

Mattresses, box springs, and pillows are encased in allergy guard, dust-mite, bug-proof covers for our guests' well being. All linens are laundered with soaps free of perfumes and dyes. Non-toxic, environmentally friendly products are used for cleaning wherever possible

The lower level patio is furnished with a hot tub, a log swing for two, a small dining table and four chairs, a round lounger for two, a cedar sauna for five, a hammock, and a picnic table.

- Beachfront: The residence is directly on the Russian River, with uninterrupted views of the river and local hills, and has direct access to the beach for walking, sunbathing, boating, rafting, snorkling, or swimmming. We provide two kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. A broad, easy stairway leads from the deck area to the beach below. This is a non-flood location. During the summer months the water is a very comfortable temperature, slow moving, and clear. In the winter the river becomes rapid and ruggedly scenic. Year round guests are drawn to the view of the river, its wildlife, its ebb and flow, and change with the seasons. Its truly a dynamic force, and enjoyable year round. Summer months are marked by canoe traffic, swimmers, and rafting. Float trips of an hour and a half length, ending in Healdsburg, are a popular activity.

for the purpose of sharing great times with her
family and grandchildren.
Lisa's great-grandmother, our first family member
here at Fitch Mountain, was involved in running Healdsburg's
historic Camp Rose Inn.

Owner's Map of Healdsburg
Riverwood's owner, Lisa Neisingh, grew up in a rural area of Sonoma County, and studied design at UCLA's Santa Monica Design Center. She wanted to convey a relaxing, back-to-nature environment at Riverwood, and in furnishing the home, chose a "lakeside cabin" style of decorating that's comfortable and timeless. In this elegant, rustic setting guests are put at ease, and focus is placed on enjoying the beauty of the natural environment surrounding this special home.
