No Better Way to See WIne Country

I took my family to the Napa/Sonoma wine country for a vacation. We had 8 adults and a couple of young children. We found Riverwood via a web search and thought it would support us. Well, it turned out to be a perfect place to base our 7 days of wine country excursions! First, located in Healdsburg, it was a central launching point for wine country drives each day to different "wine roads." In addition, Healdsburg itself was a super place for wine, shopping, and visiting. Second, the house itself was just wonderful! It is extremely large with 4 quite large bed rooms and several smaller options. Seating was everywhere, inside and out. It was well supplied and furnished. Access to the River was easy and we enjoyed the River each day. Third, the booking process was easy and came well informed for the house as well as the area. We could not recommend a place more than RIverwood.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Large comfortable home

We stayed in Riverwood for a girl's trip and had a fantastic time. The house is in good shape, with a lodge feel to it. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of bedding and towels for all the guests. This would be a great house for a multiple family vacation with several living areas. This house is close to Healdsburg which has a nice square and lots of shopping, resturants, etc.

Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Lovely home on the river

Riverwood is a spacious, very clean, comfortable home on the Russian River. We had four couples staying here for wine barrel tasting. Each morning we all commented on how comfortable all the beds were (3 Kings!) and how quiet it was. The guys enjoyed the sauna downstairs and we had nice walks along the river. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a Board retreat at the Riverwood house and had a fabulous experience. I just wish we could have stayed longer! Accommodations were very comfortable. The house is open and conducive to large groups, and the hot tub is wonderful. The view of the river is so inviting, it makes you want to sit riverside. I would definitely return for another stay.

My family just stayed here for the Christmas holiday (7 adults and 4 kids) and had a fantastic time! We've rented a lot of houses over the years and this is one of the best we've experienced. The kitchen is very well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, dishes and glasses (which isn't always the case). The dining room table was perfect for our whole group. The view is beautiful - we saw 3 deer while we were there. To top it all off - the house was beautifully decorated for the holiday. The only sad part was when we had to leave.

A Great Retreat

I highly recommend this property. It was clean, well appointed, and a terrific location on a quiet street. We made good use of the spa, sauna, and kayaks. The kids enjoyed swimming and playing in the river. The upstairs and downstairs rooms allowed three generations of family to spread out and to have quiet time when needed. The view from the deck was awesome. For those thinking about renting my only caution to you would be that neighborhood quiet time begins at 10pm and is strictly enforced.

A Perfect Getaway

A wonderful house for a reunion with old friends! We came together here for a weekend, and immediately settled into absolute comfort. It was great for relaxing, cooking, and playing games, and served as a perfect home base for forays into Healdsburg (beautiful!) and the surround wine country (delicious!). The management was clear and responsive, the value outstanding, and the house itself impeccably well-kept and lovely. We'll surely return to this perfect getaway.

Fantastic house with a great location

We stayed here for a few days after Christmas with some good friends. Absolutely loads of space in the house, the kids loved the room downstairs where they had many ping pong tournaments. The house is kept in excellent condition, with a beautiful view of the river from the back deck. It was fun for everyone to switch between the hot tub and the sauna, although the kids liked the water better than the dry heat. We are now looking forward to maybe re-visiting in the summer, when we could experience more of the outside ... drinking wine on the deck and watching the river run by sounds fantastic.

This was our third time renting from Wine Country Lodges and every stay has been better then the previous visit. The house, in a beautiful location, is comfortable, warm, and well stocked for cooking multiple large meals as well as bundling up with plenty of extra blankets and pillows on cold fall nights. We utilized every inch of the spacious house - from cooking and enjoying the eat in kitchen, to the large table great for a group dinner and the deck for grilling and enjoying the views and spotting deer. We look forward to returning for a summer visit.

Our group had a fantastic time staying at this house. It's great for groups as it has a large common area, great deck and plenty of very comfortable beds. Everything was in excellent condition - our group really felt at home. The location right on the river was perfect and was just a short drive in to downtown Healdsburg. The rental company was a true delight to work with. It was so refreshing to work with such honest and kind people. I've already recommended this home to others thinking of staying in the area and I definitely plan to return myself.

Our Stay in The Wine Country

We loved this house so much. We had three couples stay and it was perfect. The beds were super comfortable, showers were always hot, and we had a perfect view out back. They called us when we got there to make sure everything was fine, and it was. We loved being so close to the town of Healdsburg. They have wonderful restaurants and grocery stores for all your needs. We would stay at this place again or one of their sister houses. We loved having internet access also that helped out a lot. I would say the only thing they could do better is have more wine glasses for the house. We love to drink our wine with good glasses. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.

Owner response: We're so happy when guests enjoy our home! Recently, behind the scenes we were busy testing, and re-testing, mattresses until we found just the right comfy ones. We upgraded the water system, too, for an endless supply of hot water. To hear that our guests appreciate those things is our reward. We feel so embarassed, though, and didn't realize we were getting low on wine glasses! We immediately fixed that by buying two dozen more. Thank you for letting us know, and keeping us on our toes!

This was the perfect getaway for a large group with kids. My husband's 40th birthday the occasion. We had 8 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant and it was spacious enough to have space. The large indoor dining table fit all of us comfortably. I hung out daily by the river as the sun rose, enjoying the solitude and sound of the running water. The swinging bench was a favorite hangout for deep conversations. Several of us even had room to do a small group yoga practice on the outdoor deck, overlooking the river. Fantastic kitchen and grill for our large meals. Comfy beds, and the air conditioner rocked on a few very hot days. We will be back! Thank you so much for all the caring details. What a find!

We stayed at Riverwood for three nights in July. We had twelve in our party and the house was large enough to give everyone plenty of space. The lodge was very well equipped with everything you could need to make the stay very comfortable. I loved the dining table. We had some great meals, good wine and fantastic conversations over several dinners. Great place!!!

Our womens family reunion was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Very comfortable beds, beautiful decor, and thank goodness for the A/C as it turned out to be an unusual 100 degrees in May. Very clean with all the comforts of home. Can't wait for a return visit.

The Riverwood Lodge was a wonderful and BEAUTIFUL get away! We had a large party (10 in all) and there was enough quality accomodations for everyone. We enjoyed the pingpong table and hot tub along with the amazing view on the river right in the back yard. I highly recommend the Riverwood Lodge!

We had a wonderful time. Riverwood was the perfect setting for our annual get away for 7. The kitchen area was able to accommodate multiple cooks, as well as spectators. We enjoyed late night discussions in front of the fireplace, and long soaks in spa. We appreciate the time and attention spent furnishing the house and providing we we needed for inside and outside dining. Thank you for your professional and responsive service. All I can say is WOW. What a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. We had 6 adults and 2 kids stay here for the week and never ran into each other. More than enough room, easy to find, and a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the fresh limes off the tree in our evening coctails. I have reccomended this to some of my friends, and we are planning a return trip to see more of wine country.

A family wedding in wine country

I rented this fantastic home for immediate family to stay together during our daughter's wedding. Everyone loved the home, we cooked, ordered pizza and had lots of wine and great conversation. The bedrooms and extra space provided plenty of room for everyone, and the evenings in the hot tub with my sisters chatting away was great. We even used the ping pong table for flower assembly for the wedding bouquets. I would come back to Riverwood in a second, wonderful home.

We have just spent a wonderful 8 days with our son and daughter and their families in your beautiful home. The children are 6, 4 1/2, 3 1/2 and 14 mos., and the house worked beautifully for them plus 6 adults (2 more were planned but couldn't make it). We were concerned about finding a place that would be safe for small children yet still be a setting that all generations could enjoy. This was the perfect spot! The house is lovely - our 6 year old grandson walked in, looked around, and commented that "this house is all about animals and nature"- and we agree. It is clean, beautifully appointed and has excellent river views and access. We would certainly return if the opportunity arises.

I would highly recomend the Riverwood Lodge! It's location is close to Healdsburg town centre which provided easy and quick travel for restaurants and shopping. The house itself is huge, yet warm and comfortable. All rooms were impecably clean and well appointed. We had a group of 8 adults. The great room was perfect for lounging and the VERY easy to light fireplace (remote control!) was the perfect backdrop to our evenings of singing and guitars. The view of the river was awesome. It was very private and quiet and plenty of room for all!

We rented 3 properties for 2 nights in December for a business retreat. We used the Riverwood house as our main meeting and eating location. The house is beautiful, has everything you could need and was plenty of space for our group of 20 people to meet during the day. I will definitely rent from Wine Country Lodges again. They provided great support.

Riverwood Lodge was a wonderful place for the 12 of us to stay. I really liked the lodge feeling and all the wood furniture and decorations. We were celebrating all of our 50th birthdays and some of us had not seen each other since college. The outdoor porches and dining room and kitchen were conducive for talking and relaxing. We were able to make some nice meals. We were able to use the downstairs CD/DVD for the upstairs one did not work.The manager was able to tell us what to do over the phone. The hot tub was nice but could have been a bit hotter. The scenery was beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Riverwood Lodge. The house is great for large groups since the kitchen, dining room, living room and deck are all roomy. The hot tub was heated and ready to go! We only had one minor issue with the grill being out of propane, but the owner came over within 15 minutes to take care of it for us.

The house was nice and so was the setting, although, there were some annoyances. Firstly, 3 bathrooms and only 1 extra roll of toilet paper left for all of us (hopefully an oversight of housekeeping). Then, looks like the owner put a lot of thought into the "cabin" look and forgot a bit about comfort. E.g. the "antler" night stand lights were difficult, not too speak of dangerous to handle in the dark. Plus the wicker night stand tables, looked pretty, but wicker tops make for very unstable surfaces on which to set anything. The main bedroom also had no real space to hang clothes properly (few hangers behind the door only) and there was no way to turn on the bathroom light without the fan. An incredibly noisy fan that would wake up anybody at night and be an annoyance during day use. The fireplace worked once and not another time. The TV downstairs seemed to be out of order (we couldn't manage to use it). The kitchen chairs looked nice but were insufferable to sit back.

Owner response: The home is decorated in a rustic lodge theme, which we find to be fun and appeals to the majority of our guests, but may not suit everyone's taste. We make every effort to amply stock the home with supplies. Although we did not hear from these guests during their stay, we are always quick to address any difficulties or problems that may arise. E.g. television, fireplace, toilet paper. We never knowingly allow things to remain out of order. Wine Country Lodges Management 866-786-2778 (Toll-Free - 7 days a week) .

I rented Riverwood Lodge for a bachelorette weekend for 11 women, and it was fabulous! A perfect getaway, centrally located to the adorable town of Healdsburg and a short distance from the most fantastic wineries. We had everything we needed, and the ladies were all thrilled. I think we might be regulars!!

We LOVED your house. It is so spacious, so tastefully decorated, so comfortable. We wish we had stayed one more day. Only suggestions: it would be nice to add an armoire in the master bedroom, and a hammock would be perfect outside. And is it possible for the hot tub to be out in the open, to enjoy the magnificent evening sky? We had a wonderful wonderful time with our family following our daughter's wedding. We would happily return, and would recommend your home wholeheartedly.

Riverwood Lodge was the perfect location for our long-awaited weekend with our 3 sons and their families. The house is perfect for 8 adults and the 4 children loved relaxing and sleeping in the Rec room/bedroom. They loved their private TV and ping-pong table. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It's also well-stocked with lovely dishes, glasses and serving pieces. The weather was perfect, so we thoroughly enjoyed the large deck. We also enjoyed the easy access to the River, which was shallow enough for both adults and kids to cool off in. Another plus is the large parking area in front of the house. All in all, a great spot!

What made my stay really comfortable for me was that it's devided into a party level on the bottom with the big TV, hot tub and ping pong and the more formal upstairs. So we had the early to bed and rise people on top and the Dave Lettermen crowd on the bottom. Also the kitchen was beautifully stocked. My brother even fired up the giant grill on the porch and grilled pineapple. It was cold when we were there so the easy light firplace was yummy. The closets were stocked with considerate items for babies, guests, and unusual need. Like that fussy granda that needs four pillows. Enjoy! Norma Huff

The lodge was fabulous! We saw the pictures on-line, but it exceeded our expectations. Very spacious. Clean. Well-furnished. Well-stocked. And the river is just steps away. It really is a "model" vacation rental and ideal for a large group.

We had a wonderful ladies weekend. The house is very warm and the beds are comfy! The Russian River is so close and beautiful. Breakfast on the deck was warm and relaxing. We cooked all our meals at the house and it's very well stocked. There is a lifetime supple of syrup. I give it an A.

This was the second annual wine country vacation for our group of four couples. We were referred to Riverwood Lodge by a friend who had stayed at a sister lodge. Everyone in our group, as well as friends who stayed elsewhere, was very impressed by the condition and amenities of the Lodge. The minute we walked in, the positive comments started to flow. It it clean, well-maintained, spacious, and very comfortable. We cooked for 10 every night with ease. Many of us look forward to returning during warm season to enjoy the deck, hot tub, and river access (it truly is "riverfront"). Riverwood gets a 10 from us.

This year the group, known as the Graphite Magnolias, decided on the wine country. I found Riverfront Lodge on the internet and then visited it (as I live in Berkeley) and decided it would work for our group. That expectation was exceeded as everyone loved the house—its location in proximity to Healdsburg Plaza as well as wineries, state parks and the ocean beaches was ideal. The house has great space, nicely furnished, all the amenities that make a stay very comfortable and pleasurable. In short, it was the perfect house for our week in the wine country.

The house has great space, nicely furnished, all the amenities that make a stay very comfortable and pleasurable. In short, it was the perfect house for our week in the wine country.

We loved every minute of our stay, we had a 100th birthday celebration for our grandmother in Healdsburg, and had a range of 21 to 77 years old at the house, it was perfect, we are planning another trip because the house is so perfect!

This home was a treat. Everything was as advertised and even better. Our favorite part was the upstairs deck for early morning and early evening. We watched a mother and baby deer on the property. Will be back.

What a great time we had! The house was perfect for our four couples. The beds were wonderful! We all loved eating breakfast around the big dining room table and enjoying wine on the awesome deck! The men really enjoyed having a ping pong table. Everything was perfect and I would definately recommend this house to all my friends!

Wow--The house was absolutely beautiful! It was an entirely comfortable stay, from the kitchen, the view, the jacuzzi, to the cozy beds. We will definitely return when we find ourselves in Healdsburg again.

Our family has been doing a get-together every summer for many years ranging from Bodega Bay, Guerneville, Carmel Valley, Boulder Creek, etc. None of them came within a country mile of Riverwood Lodge for exactly fitting our needs and just pure comfort, convenience and relaxation. It's truly a wonderful place!! With an age range of 8-84, that's saying a lot! Thank you Lisa and Jill for all of your efforts! We'd come again in a minute! Not only did the owner find them to be warm and friendly, but also very gracious about an inconvenience concerning the hot tub (which required the owner's personal attention after being left in poor condition by the previous group). What a beautiful home! The views were spectacular, and the amenities were wonderful! The river was perfect for rafting and swimming. Several beachgoers passing by commented on the beauty of the home. We are already looking for a reason to come back!

We had a fabulous weekend at your beautiful home. The house was the perfect size for our family, 8 adults and 4 children. The kitchen is very welcoming and efficient, with ample dishes and glassware. The dining room table is extraordinary and fit all of us comfortably. The living room is very large but cozy, with all the necessary items: TV, DVD player, puzzles, games, etc. The house is beautifully decorated and on a wonderful river lot. Our kids also enjoyed the ping pong table and hot tub. We certainly hope to return. Thanks again, Joe and Janelle
