    • We spent 4 nights at this coattage, Sept 30 - Oct 4, 2009, and it is a lovely place! We saw a blue heron, two deer, and a gray wolf--my husband is adamant that it was a wolf and not a fox--in the field below the cottage. Although the floors are uneven--attesting to the age of this cottage--everything has been modernized and it is a comfortble vacation retreat. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with the condiments and basic necessities, and most of the needed appliances. Although we never did locate an iron, or the griddle and butter for making the promised pancakes the morning after our late arrival, we were quite comfortable, and relaxed in this lovely cootage. We were able to do laundry, watch a movie, and play Scrabble in between attending my son's wedding at Bard College and related festivities. We'd go back again, and readily recommend this place to anyone enjoying the Hudson Valey.

    • I had the pleasure of spending the month of September at this lovely Red Hook home. The cottage is comfortable, roomy and exceeded my expectations. The location is the perfect jumping off spot for all the historic attractions the Hudson valley has to offer. In addition, the many great restaurants in Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hudson and Hyde Park are just minutes away. One of the reasons I chose Red Hook was its proximity to the Rhinecliff and Poughkeepsie train stations. My daughter and son-in-law were able to come up every weekend from NYC. The other selling feature was the enclosed porch. A great place to read, snooze and just admire the scenery. Thanks Bruce and Deanna, you were the perfect hosts!

    • We desert dwellers spent a heavenly mid-May weekend at this property. The lilacs were in full and luscious bloom and we loved sitting out on the screened porch and listening to the trickling stream. Deer and wild turkey frolicked in the meadows, and we felt like we were in spring heaven!

    • My family stayed here for my son's graduation at Bard College in May. It was the perfect house! Beautiful and peaceful with lots of light, this house sits on a slight rise overlooking a large expanse of meadow, where deer, birds and lightning bugs gather. The house is cozy and welcoming, well- stocked, good beds, comfortable furniture and a beautiful garden surrounding the house. I just wish we had found this house sooner as it's the best place to stay in all of Red Hook. Highly recommended.

    • My mother, a close friend, and I enjoyed two wonderfully relaxing nights at this beautiful cottage. Some historic houses are "old" and some are "charming" - this property was definately the latter! We found the accomodations comfortable and relaxing. We especially enjoyed our visitors - deer and a flock of turkeys! The beds were quite comfortable, the bathrooms updated, and the kitchen well stocked. We attended the NY Sheep and Wool Festival in nearby Rhinebeck, NY and visited the CIA. We look forward to a return visit.
