Two bedroom, two bath condo at the Gulf Shores Plantation, Gulf Shores AL: A family oriented resort located between Gulf Shores & Fort Morgan, away from the sometimes rowdy/crowded downtown Gulf Shores scene.
On-site attractions & amenities: 4000 feet of sugar-white beach, five outdoor pools (Our building is located next to the newest & nicest pool), an indoor pool, on-site casual dining, a stone's throw from the award-winning Kiva Dunes Golf Course.
Our unit is well equipped and nicely decorated in beach motif. It has a wet bar, three TV's, a coffee maker, microwave and a food processor. There is a large closet for beach toys close to the entrance.
The condo has a balcony with a marginal gulf view. It is located on the second floor of a three story building. Coin operated washer/dryer in laundry room on same floor.

We had to cancel and I was very worried that I would loose all or most of the rental fees. I called and talked to David and he was extremely nice and understanding. He refunded the entire amount! I was surprised since most places do not ever refund the entire amount. I hope next year we can stay here. We researched for a long time to find a place like this. Brigetta Giles Plantersville, AL

My friends and I decided to do a beach vacation in Gulf Shores for Memorial Day. I found this condo and decided to give homeaway.com a try. I was very happy with the whole transaction. David was very responsive through the whole process, from initial questions to booking. I did not need to contact him at all during the stay, but I would expect that they would have been just as responsive. The private beach was perfect...not crowded at all and just a short walk from the condo. We did not use any of the pools or other amentities. The beach was more than enough! The condo itself is a bit outdated but it was really a place to crash at the end of the day, so it didn't bother us at all. There was free wifi at the resort which was nice. The only compliant I had was that the resort is 13 miles from "downtown" Gulf Shores, which ended up being a lot of driving because we went somewhere each day (Foley Outlet mall and Orange Beach, which are kind of far away), so the miles can really add up. This is clearly stated in the description, so that was something I probably should have researched. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again. I'd say the distance issue can be either good or bad depending on what you plan on doing.

Just returned from a week stay at Gulf Shores Plantation with my husband and 2 children, ages 3 and 8.Wonderful,pleasant experience at a such a peaceful complex..The condo was very clean,fairly close to the pool and the beach which is wide and beautiful. The pool closest to the condo was HUGE! It had a large shallow end for the little ones as well as 3 or 4 step entries. There was always a nice breeze from the beach. The boardwalk offers a nice,short walk to the beach. I also like that the Plantation is away from all of the beach traffic. I'd recommend this condo and that area to anyone looking for a vacation spot without alot of traffic and a nice place to relax.Dave was so friendly and constantly kept in touch throughout rental.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.
