Dunrovin Ranch is a little slice of paradise on the Bitterroot River 8 miles south of Missoula, Montana. We straddle two worlds - the wild lands of the Bitterroot River and surrounding mountains; and the wonderful urban charms of beautiful Missoula - Montana's Garden City and home of the University of Montana.
You can fish for trout in the morning, spend the afternoon riding horses in the back country, and enjoy fine dining or theater at night! We offer year round recreational opportunities with unlimited summer and winter sporting venues.
Our cottage guest quarters are private and restful with a deck overlooking the gardens and river beyond.
Our grounds are beautifully landscaped with plenty of quiet spaces as well as spacious lawns for volleyball, croquet, or ultimate frisbee. Come during harvest season to pick from our enormous vegetable garden, strawberry and raspberry patches, or orchard with apple, pear, plum, and cherry trees.
Our horses are athletic, well trained, and friendly - they are all Tennessee Walking Horses - known as the "Cadillac" of horses. Our pony, Cool Dude, is a hit with kids of all ages; and our Sicilian Donkey, Senor Kona, has an attitude straight out of Shrek - an opinionated character that brings smiles and laughter to all. You don't have to ride to experience the wonder of being around horses!
Dunrovin's owners and staff are experienced outdoors people with decades of horsemanship as well as professional careers in natural resource management, wildlife biology, and research. We love nothing better than helping visitors get to know and understand the authentic Montana. We will be happy to connect you with some of the states most interesting places and people.
