This loft is in the upper floor of what was originally a log cabin built in 1735. It has been lovingly renovated to maintain much of it's original style yet it boasts all of the conveniences of today.
Every window offers you an amazing view. We are located across the street from the Lachine Canal and a lively marina on Lake St. Louis.
You can step out of the door onto the longest bike path in North America which also accommodates rollerbladers. Take a walk along the lake and try some of our wonderful restaurants.
You have a private entrance, the spacious loft has a beamed cathedral ceiling, original pine floors and an old fashioned clawed bathtub to relax in(it also has a separate shower). There is a back room which has 1 queen sized bed and 1 single bed.
This room also has a wood burning stove. The designer kitchen will certainly please the gourmet in you. Come and relax with us. We like our guests to be comfortable.

A wonderful experience!

This beautiful old home has been completely renovated while keeping many of the original wood flooring, beams and walls. The accommodations were immaculate and furnished with upscale bedding, appliances and furniture. Our hosts, Louise and Jean Marc were very friendly and knowledgeable and went out of their way to help us with sightseeing and points of interest ! Everything was so comfortable and beautiful that we decided to stay another week! Bravo!
Owner response:Anna and Len are a very nice couple who left our loft clean. They actually stayed with us from October 17th 2010 to October 30th, 2010. We hope they come back and stay with us again some day.

What a charming and beautiful place to stay

This loft is clean and super gorgeous!!!! The polished antique wood floors, the exposed beams, eiderdowns and goose-feather pillows and an enormous claw-foot tub really made our stay at this heritage house special. At the same time, there is a brand-new modern kitchen, as well as cable TV, CD player, and a modern shower. We found it to be the best of both worlds! Our family consists of 2 adults and 3 kids ages 3 to 14, and everyone found things to love -- games, puzzles, books, videos and even stuffed animals to squeeze. There was plenty of space and comfort for us all, even when we had local family members in for meals. The photos are accurate, but don't convey the true size of the loft -- we never felt crowded, even when we had 9 people at breakfast! Louise and Jean-Marc were attentive by e-mail, answering our every question, and then gave us all the space we needed to have privacy on our visit. A separate entrance adds to that feeling of privacy. The location -- in the heritage section of Lachine on the canal (near the Fur Trader's Museum, next door to a nice old church and DIRECTLY across from the beautiful bike trail) -- was charming. We didn't bring our bikes this time (Canadian Thanksgiving / Columbus Day weekend), but NEXT time we definitely will! Relatives told us there are many good restaurants in the area too, but again, we'll have to try them next time. And there WILL be a next time! Thanks, Louise and Jean-Marc for a lovely stay.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
