We have stayed here the last 3year at this cabin and we always have a great time!! Before we found this cabin use to stay in Pine AZ, since the first stay my whole family fell in love with this place. The cabin is huge and very relaxing. Everything is nearby, fishing, hiking, and down town. My kids love the fire place. My family is already excited for our trip next year!!!

Recommended for:Families with young children.

Not quite what we expected

I was disappointed with the condition. The shower in Master Bath and the toilet in the lower level were broken as well as the kegerator. The grill needed a major cleaning. The owner did come as soon as we contacted him to make the repairs. The cabin needed a good "Spring cleaning". The cabin had "worn look" to it ...carpets were soiled. This owner needs to spend some time with general maintenance. The layout of the kitchen and two decks accommodated our get together for 60 guests very well. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive on the curvy, steep hills. Takes 20 minutes to Prescott.

Owner response:Please know that there is more to this story. I apologise for having to explain it. The guest rented both my cabins for 7 days and tied up the calenders for more than 6 months. I refunded there money for the 3br cabin and told them I would try to rerent the 4br cabin. Instead of cancelling they decided to have a pre wedding party. I suppose this is my payback for not allowing the cancellation of both cabins. Anyway, I'm sorry they were dissappointed. The master shower needed the handle tightened and the chain on the toilet needed reattatched (It took me 3 minutes). I wish they had mentioned that these things happened during their stay and not upon their arrival. I think most people have reattatched a toilet handle chain. The kegerator needed CO2. I apologise. We no longer provide a kegerater to our guests. We did have the carpets shampooed after their party of 60 guests. We also refunded their damage deposit. Hard to believe they weren't responsible for any of the carpet spills. 4 wheel drive is NOT necessary unless its winter and there is snow, ice or muddy conditions. We do recommend 4wd in the winter months during and after snow storms. This cabin is very nice and has MANY guests who return multiple times every year. I am confident you will enjoy it. Quality Time At Its Finest!

We recently stayed at the Bigelow's cabin for a much needed family getaway. This place is gorgeous! I was so surprised at how fully stocked the house was. Prior to going, i packed up so much more than we needed for fear of showing up and not being prepared...boy was I wrong! Upon arrival, we were so impressed, and our kids were through the roof with excitement. Its just beautiful. Its perfect for pets, and if family bonding is what you need, this is the place! Whether hanging out in the game room, watching movies/playing poker in the loft, or sitting around the fire outside, you cannot go wrong by renting this house. We have teenage sons who have been on their share of family vacations, yet they felt that this trip was "better than Disneyland". I strongly believe that the "warmth" of this house, and everything about it, played a strong role in how successful our trip was. We strongly recommend the Bigelow home. We cant wait to go back!

Snowed out from Chandler part 2*~ New Years wkend*~

This is part 2 of my review read part 1 at the Bigelows other rental Location*~ Again I want to say the Bigelows are a Outstanding Family and great to rent from!! The reason why there are 2 Parts to this review is that we originally rented a different location and because of the HUGE Snow storm Prescott got we were snowed out of our original rental location. I wanted to make sure to give the Bigelows a oustanding review for how they treated the situation and how great The bigelow family was to us. They had a cancellation at this location and let us have this Cabin for the dates we had booked at no additional charge. This Cabin is enormous. It has everything you could imagine....Its great for big groups of people and large familes with kids. We had a great time going on hikes in the snow around the property...And its very quiet and peaceful here. The game room they have is great for Teenagers if you have them and yes they have Internet connection for those teens to keep connected. I am very thankful to the Bigelows for accomadating us here so we did not have to change our wkend plans. The only downside was we had rented quads and because there was soooo much snow we were unable to go quading but that was not the Bigelows fault. I myself like to get away from it all and this house is on a huge property and there are no other cabins around its very private. Our stay was a good experience aside from the few little mishaps, We lost water to the cabin the pipes froze but again it was not the Bigelows fault and again they were very accomodating. We would definetly rent from the Bigelows again they are great! Thank You Bigelow Family! LeighAnne & Chris

Peaceful getaway in the high country

We just experienced a most wonderful family reunion in this cabin in July. The large group consisted of Grandparents, Parents, Teenagers, Kids, and infants. This cabin has it all and provided a great time for everyone of my family members. The interior is very spacious and our large group never felt crowded, many times wondering what other family members where doing. The cabin has 12 spaces to "hangout" counting patios, living rooms, game rooms, and bedrooms -- 13 if you count the kitchen! LOCATION: The cabin is very secluded in tall pine country at 7000 ft of elevation but yet only 15 minutes from downtown Prescott. No other cabins are visible from this location and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning listening to the sounds of the forest is very rewarding. We enjoyed hiking in the forest and even saw a deer walk by the cabin within 20 feet of the patio. In late July the temperature did not exceed 76 degrees!! AMMENITIES: Satellite TV and Wi-Fi access to keep in touch with civilization if you so desire. Game room with pool tables, air hockey, and table shuffleboard was a huge hit with all family members. Outdoor swingset for kids was very popular. HOSPITALITY: Kitchen has everything you need to cook easily for 20+ people if you so desire. The barbecue grill was put to great use during our stay. Plenty of sitting places throughout the house. Each of the four patios has a table and chairs to sit in. Couches in livingroom areas are extremely comfortable. Wet bar and kitchen bar provide additional sitting. If travelling with toddlers, home is equipped with child safety gates at steps. These can easily be swung open and left open without interfering if you do not travel with toddlers. OWNERSHIP: Working directly with the owner was a very pleasant experience. Emails are answered within hours and phone calls answered or returned immediately. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: I can not emphazise enough what a wonderful experience this was for our family reunion. This is our 6th annual family reunion that the kids throw for our mom and dad and as far as accomodations go by far the best. Having mom and dad thank each and everyone of their kids for a wonderful time says it all for me. I will definately be back with friends and family to once again enjoy the cabin and everything it offers!! One last thing -- take this cabin out of the woods and it is no longer a cabin -- it becomes a luxury mansion!!

We stayed here for a weekend in February and had an awesome time. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and more than we expected. The location is a short distance from Phoenix on a mountain perfect distance from neighboring cabins. We never ran out of things to do and wished we could have stayed longer. The owner was very accomodating and easy to deal with. Our family will definitely return.

Every year I choose a place to host my friends for an annual "Friends Thanksgiving" get together. In Nov 2009 I came across the VRBO listing for this amazing cabin. Typically rental pictures are taken in a way that make the properties look better than what they are. I am telling you this right now. The pictures listed don't do this place justice. It is simply amazing. It has tons of space and the game room insures there will never be a dull moment. I also really liked the fact that the neighbors were a good distance away. The privacy and quiet allowed my friends and I to get in some good bonding time. The owners of the property were one of the easiest people that I have worked with to date. They made sure that all of my needs were met and all of my questions were answered. In short, I would highly recommend that you consider renting this space for your next family getaway. A+++++

The photo's for this cabin does not tell it all! You would have to see it to believe it. The cabin is more like a mansion..... Huge and Beautiful. This privacy location is AWESOME- especially having 4 kids, 4 teens, and 9 adults in one home making so much noise during the day thru the "night" (PARTIES) with "NO" neighbors complaining. This cabin has many rooms for all 17+ people! It has a room/place for everyone to play, eat, nap, sleep, 3 showers, 3 toilets, and 1 huge jacuzzi! Also, it has satellite TV and wireless internet! I can't describe the enjoyment my family, my in-laws, and I had in this cabin! The sad day was leaving. I would be selfish if I gave this place a bad comment so I can find open spots for me to schedule another fun time for my family and I! I highly suggest for anyone who has a big family, wants privacy, and have indoor/outdoor fun to rent this place! I promise myself and my family that we will now start planning vacations to Prescott just to rent this cabin! It has it all..... the only thing it does not have- is my family and I in it! Big Thank You and God Bless to the "Bigelow Family" for allowing me to rent this cabin on short notice for my family and I to enjoy a once in a life time stay in a "MANSION CABIN!
