Why the Owner Chose Helen
Purpleaire is so easy to get to. It's only about 90 minutes northeast of Atlanta, right in between Cleveland and Helen. It's a paved and gentle drive all the way. When you reach our driveway you will literally be on top of a Beautiful Mountain Ridge. The views are spectacular. The temps are cooler and the air is fresh and pure. Although Purpleaire is very secluded and private, the town of Helen is just 10 minutes away with all the dining and entertainment you could want. 7 miles south is Cleveland, a beautiful, small town which smacks of Americana. Lots of stores and shopping are there. We knew the moment we walked through the front door of Purpleaire that this was the retreat we were looking for. We looked at each other, nodded and the rest is history......

Owner's Map of Helen
We are a couple of Elementary School Teachers from Central Florida nearing retirement. We chose the Helen area on the recommendation of friends. The peace and tranquillity at Purpleaire are unsurpassed. When the stress and chaos of our world get to be overbearing, we head for Purpleaire. It refreshes and rejuvenates us so we can tolerate returning to the "Rat Race". Jan is "The Queen of Purple" She wears purple every day and has decorated our small Llama farm in a purple theme. I love motorcycles and model trains. We know you'll enjoy spending time at our sanctuary, Purpleaire, as we do.

This cabin was amazing. My wife and I spent a weekend in this area from FL and did not want to come back. The cabin views are amazing. The property was spotless and very well maintained. It is located in a great area with easy access to Helen and the surrounding area. We are already planning our next getaway to this property. We love it!

I recently spent a week at Purpleaire with my sister and neice. It is literally at the top of a mountain yet so easy to get to. You follow a gently winding, paved road all the way. When you arrive and step out onto the balcony you will not believe the spectacular panoramic views. It is so quiet and private at the top. The sunrises and sunsets are incredible.Everything in the cabin is new. Everything you could possibly want is there, from linens, kitchen tools, TVs, Satellite, DVDs, Game Table, Pool Table, Wireless Internet, an indoor whirlpool tub and an outdoor hot tub. We were taken aback by all the amenities you get for the money. The owners didn't skimp on anything. You will have a wonderful time at Purpleaire. You are only 5 miles from Helen and all the attractions (tubing on the Chatahoochee). Cleveland is only 8 miles away (Walmart). The cabin is so cozy and inviting. We absolutely loved it! We're coming back again for fall colors and Octoberfest. We've stayed at alot of places and Purpleaire ranks at the very top. You won't be disappointed. We can't wait to come back!
