When starting to research places to stay we were impressed with the pictures of this unit. The unit went above and beyond our expections. The view was spectacular. We really enoyed how the mirrors in the unit provided an ocean view from wherever we stood. The unit provided binoculars to see incoming cruise ships, board games to enjoy at night, an ice cream maker to indulge in a homemade treat, and waffle maker to whip up a tasty breakfast. It was also convenient to have a DVR available to record TV shows to watch at a time that was convenient for us. The Ipod docking station was an added bonus to listen to our music throughout the unit. In addition, we felt this unit was extremely family friendly. Our 20 month old daughter felt right at home. The furniture and tables were safe for her to be around without us worrying about her getting injured. The beach toys and chairs in the closet were an added bonus that we were not expecting. It is quite clear that Julie goes that extra mile to make this the best experience possible for the people staying here. I know that our family can't wait to work with Julie again to stay in this unit the next time we come out to visit. You will not be disappointed if you spend your vacation in this unit.

My family (me, my husband, and our 2 small children) stayed in the Whaler in July 2010, and we had the most wonderful vacation. We felt right at home, except that the beautiful view through the window reminded us that we were in fact on vacation. This unit is loaded with amenities - beach chairs for us to use, boogie boards, a booster seat for my 2 year old, games, books, ice cream maker (my daughter loved this!). Furniture was very comfortable and not outdated like other units we've stayed in at the Whaler. The beach is just steps away, and so is the Whaler's Village just next door. Restaurants, shops, and of course the ABC Store where we could pick up last minute food. We were also able to BBQ lunches and dinners at the nice BBQ area. Honestly, I can't think of a more relaxing vacation, especially with 2 little ones. It was so easy, so comfortable, and the owner really helped us plan some of our activities - she had great tips for where to go during the day when we wanted to take an adventure. I miss relaxing out on the lanai watching the sun dip down into the ocean, and the warm ocean breeze rustling the palms of the mighty trees that seem to go on into the distance forever. :) Thanks so much! I have stayed at the Whaler many times before and this really is one of the best units at the Whaler. The room is decorated nicely and you can tell the owners take great heart and probably stay in the unit themselves. I love the thick carpeting and the DVR is an added bonus as most rooms DO NOT have this. The view from the balcony is excellent and the furniture on the balcony is much better than the 'standard issue' at the Whaler. There is a lot of great beach gear in the closet and the kitchen gadgets are fun. Check in and check-out is very easy and there's towel card system to get fresh beach towels throughout the day. There is no reason why you shouldn't request this room right now...that is unless it's a week that I'd like to stay there. Thank you for a great vacation.
