The pictures of this property are beautiful, but the property was not what I expected. The home is located at the end of a path, that was later modified to accommodate a small vehicle. We parked at the bottom, during most of our stay, and carried our groceries up the hill. The owners car is parked at the top, but is not available for use, which makes turning another vehicle around very difficult. First, the not so good: 1) the house is rustic for the US, but I have been told nice for Roatan, The walls are painted wood that reminds me of a northern cabin or a cape cod cottage. Floors are varnished wood planks. Two of us awakened with geckos on us at different times. They are friendly creatures looking for bugs, but it was a new experience for us. At any given time at night, there were six or more geckos on the walls. 2) There are no laundry services, so bring enough clothes for your stay, rinse out in a sink or send out your laundry to a local launderer. 3) There is not internet available at the house. We tried. There is a $50 charge for internet and a cell phone (Tigo stick,) but it did not work and we never saw the cell phone, so don't count on internet service there. 4) We were charged $30 to use the managers internet at the pool area. We kept track, it worked 34% of the time we tried to use it and the bugs are crazy at the pool. You will get eaten alive. I never used bug spray at the pool as I didn't want it in the water. 5) the only AC is in the bedrooms, not the main part of the house. It was difficult to sit and sweat, so we didn't spend much time at the house. 6) the water in the downestairs bathroom smells like sewage. I brushed and washed with bottled water. 7) Power is out often, welcome to Roatan. 8) House was not cleaned for us, so we swept, dusted and scrubbed our first day there. 9) the sewage backed up in to the neighbors house and we could not use the plumbing for two days. 10) the neighbors dog barks CONSTANTLY! 11) the rooster cannot tell time and crows all night. Now the good: 1) the dock is very nice and enjoyable 2) there is diving at the site 3) the AC in the rooms works great, when the power is on 4) Meet Sonja, she is very nice and will rent you her van for $250 a week. She lives at the corner across the street. 5) the Blue Parrot has great food/fun. 6) Didn' t have many bugs inside, but don't sit under a light.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
