Owner's Map of San Antonio
We have done a fair bit of traveling and used VRBO on many occasions ourselves. The past few years, we have had to take a sabbatical from traveling, instead focusing all of our time and energy into the complete renovation of our 100 year old Queen Anne vacation rental. Needless to say, we miss our travels, but love our home and the opportunity to meet interesting people from all over who choose to spend their time in San Antonio in one of our two vacation rentals.

My husband and I stayed in this home for the weekend of the King WIlliam Fair and could not be happier. It was an awesome location, beautiful home, and great owners. Our family and friends rented the other properties on site and were all very pleased. I highly recommend staying here for any activities that you have in the downtown area. The location is perfect, the place is incredible, especially the outdoor space, and the prices were extremely reasonable!

My husband and I spent the past Fiesta weekend at this cottage. It's so cute and comfortable. I slept like a baby on the wonderful mattress. We usually stay on the RiverWalk but I've had such wonderful rentals from vrbo, I decided to look at King William rentals and am glad I did! The area is so charming and people are on their front porches waving at you as you walk down the street. Just a few blocks from so much---RiverWalk, neat restaurants and downtown. We loved the Guenter House--sweet cream waffle, Azuca Nuevo Latino Restaurant and Bar, and Miss Margarets Victorian House tour. Stay here and you'll be glad you did! Much better than a hotel room!!

We spent the Christmas holidays here and it was wonderful. Every inch of this beautiful cottage has been considered and is comfortable in every way. The owners are lovely hosts and went above and beyond what we could ever have expected. King William is a great place to stay and it's nice to be able to walk to restaurants (unusual in San Antonio!) If you are a runner or walker, the neighborhood is perfect for that, too. You can run/walk the River Walk all the way from King William to Hemisfair Park and it's gorgeous(3.5 to 4 miles) -- or you can run on the streets and look at the homes. We travel a lot and this is one of our all time favorite places...we're looking forward to returning!

I must concur that this cottage is an excellent home inside and out - very classy. Upon entering the home it became immediatley clear that this was a labor of love for the owners. Individual attention has been paid to the smallest detail throughout, with clearly a artistic eye for proportion and taste diligently applied. The location is ideal. Just look at the map. You can walk to riverwalk, or if you are lazy like me, it is a $5 taxi ride (taxis are very easy to get). The kitchen is ideal for chefs. All the traditional necessary kitchen gear is tucked/hung neatly and conveniently in its place. Pots and pans off all sizes and materials (along with lids) are hung/stored near the stove and sink. The spice rack is complete. The owners have bottled a number of infused oils, including cilantro, basil and others, and it is clear that it is fresh. All greases/oils are at hand. Cutlery is Henckels. Full complement of recipe books, including James Beard, Paula Deen, accompanied by Sotheby's wine guide and other relevant dinner and wine materials. There is a mixer, fondue et, waffle/crepe maker, bread maker, blender, toaster, all the hand mixers, spoons and what not that you need. The drawers are full of new items like cheese grater, slicers, dicers, openers, thermometers, scoops, rolling pins and other useful kitchen utensils. The appliances, including stove, micro and dishwasher, are all modern. The coffee machine and grinder are set with excellet central american coffee supplies as well as Gevalia. The bathroom is artistic in every respect. The sink sits on an antique japanese pedastal. The showers and floors are marble and stone. The toilet is environmentally-friendly, allowing for half flush. The laundry room has a new washer and dryer. Plenty of closet space, shelving and hangers. The bed is extremely comfortable. The bedding of high quality. The living room has a thirty - forty inch flat screen, surround sound and full cable package with on-demand movie service. A full complement of around 30 DVDs is provided, ranging from older but lovable titles to new releases. The living room is cozy with comforable furniture. Ouside, great expense appears to have been spent on the cozy gardens complete with a large coy pond and a hot tub. Lots of seating and tables are tastefully arranged in the area. The owners have been extremely hospitable and generally concerned that I as a "guest" am happy. They genuinely car

I stayed in the property for six months and this was my third rental since I've been in San Antonio. It was by far the best place I'd stayed. The landlords were very generous and the amenities included were more than I could've imagined! As they stated, King William is a beautiful place to stay. Downtown is only a short walk away. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting San Antonio.

What a nice place to stay! When we travel we like to cook and the kitchen in this fine place was better than my kitchen at home! ( And the bed is more comfy, too!) We enjoyed the big shower, and it was also great to have the washer and dryer. Coming home with clean laundry is a really nice thing. Our hosts were very helpful and accomodating - a pleasure to get to know! We will be sending our friends!

My fiance and I spent a beautiful weekend at the cottage in March '09. Fantastic bathroom, kitchen and interior; great creature comforts (the most comfortable bed ever). The grounds and landscaping are lush and perfect for spending time outside. The best part was walking around the neighborhood during the First Friday art activities - galleries open late, live music, artist street vendors, and great food. We will be back!
