Location: Haifa, Israel, Asia (Carmel Center)

Accommodations:  Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Office, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 1-8)

Keywords:  Condominium

Spacious modern duplex apartment, with a central location. This apartment is a great base for visitors to the high tech companies, the University, Technion, and for Bahai pilgrims. It is ideal, too, if you're shopping for a wedding dress, attending a family function or planning to explore northern Israel.

Spread yourself out, relax and enjoy the view. For the price of a hotel room you can have a whole apartment, comfortable at any season. Ask for our brochure with many more photos, floor plans, maps and a full disclosure.

Apartment is is a quiet side-street, just off the main road, well connected with buses and taxis.

Amenities: The upper floor has two double bedrooms, both with bathrooms en suite. The master bedroom is huge, with expansive views, a king bed (180 cm) and room for a baby's cot plus another bed. The second (attic) bedroom/dressing room has a double bed (140 cm) and a small futon bed.

The lower (main) floor has a small third bedroom ( 2 bunk beds) with a third bathroom, up three steps. There's a tiny office with a wifi printer (may be used as a 4th bedroom); and a guest WC.

Of course, there's also a living/dining room on the main floor - it's huge and has a wonderful view. There's a fully-equipped open kitchen with a single sink. There are glass and ceramic dishes for 10-12; but because we receive visitors from different countries and different cultures, the kitchen isn't kosher.

Children are welcome. A high chair is available and we can put up gates for the stairs. We don't allow pets.

The entrance is a few steps above street level, with an intercom. The main floor is one floor up from the street. There's no elevator and there are limestone stairs and internal steps within the apartment. This apartment is wonderful if you welcome the extra exercise from stair-climbing.

Why the Owner Chose Haifa

It's a second home, and a great place for the grandchildren to visit. The climate is mild in winter. I can drive to Tel Aviv in 1 hour and to Jerusalem in 2; similarly all of the Galilee, and the Golan Heights, can be reached on a day trip. And there's great hiking nearby.

The Unique Benefits of this Condo

It's a 5 minute walk to the nearest supermarket; and two minutes to restaurants, coffee shops and bars, a gelateria and a patisserie. It's a 10 minute drive to a large shopping mall. But absolutely nothing beats a gentle evening stroll to the promenade, with its breathtaking view of the Bahai Gardens and Haifa bay. It's not to be missed.

Better than expected

Guest: Steve (West Stockbridge MA, USA)
Date of Stay: 01/15/11 Review Submitted: 08/07/11

We stayed at "Hasport Sunrise" in January 2011. There were just two of us, so that we did, indeed "spread ourselves out". The place lived up to all of its promises, and more. It was, as promised, "quirky". But everything was exactly as described, only better, more comfortable and more luxurious than we'd expected. There were tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, a bar of chocolate and a few staples waiting in the kitchen, which had a huge variety of cooking pots and utensils (all clean and could have been made kosher). The bed was bliss, and we woke up each morning to birdsong, the cooing of doves, and bright sunlight. The wifi was easy to set up and the color printer was fully operational, with a stack of paper. We visited Acre, the German Colony and the Bahai gardens, the Hula valley bird sanctuary, Megiddo, and the Druse city of Daliat-al-Karmel, ate the worlds best falafel and made trips to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem. As one of us has to work in Haifa from time-to-time, we are definitely planning to stay here again.

Owner response:We'd be honored to host this visitor again!
