Location: Taos, New Mexico, USA (Off Kit Carson, on Burch-- Steps Away from El Monte Sagrado) View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Keywords: Home
Tucked under soaring cottonwoods and elms on Burch Street just off famous Kit Carson Road and just around the corner from the El Monte Sagrado Resort is our two bedroom two bath home. In a quiet compound perched above a koi pond draped with weeping willows, you can sit out on the deck and watch songbirds and butterflies flit through our colorful garden that evokes the colours and sounds of Monet's waterlilies at Giverny. With two bedrooms, a den, a loft or meditation room (that will surely be big hit with the climbers in your family) you have ample room to stretch out and indulge, to make our home, your home.
The private hot tub off the Master Bath beckons you to relax outdoors and star gaze; each of our baths feature mosaics created by artists Mical Aloni and Assaf Reznik: one evokes the pietra dura work in an 18th century Ottoman hammam and the other a Juan Miro oil. A modern, fully equipped kitchen, a full laundry, and abundant off-street parking mean that all the basics you'll need are taken care of. Finally, in-town living in Taos means you you can stroll to galleries, eateries, and cafes and leave your car parked--exactly the way you want to vacation in Taos, the Soul of the Southwest.
If in-town is not quite what you want, try #51315, our country home called Stella Luna. Or try our new place in-town Villa Florentina #370389. Either way I encourage you to look over the guest comments on our homes to give you an excellent picture of our hospitality, our style and what you can expect if you stay with us.

This was my first VRBO experience and my kids (I have a 20 yr old daughter and 17 yr old son) and I were quite pleased. The description and photos were accurate and most importantly - the kitchen was well appointed and stocked with essentials! The home was very warm and inviting. The owner was exceptionally warm, friendly, accomodating - and reachable! We will definitely book again the next time we ski in Taos! I would also recommend this property to friends and/or relatives - for anytime of year.

I agree with other reviewers, the pictures do not do this place justice. This place is WONDERFUL and Sonjay didn't overlook one single thing when it came to comfort. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was so comfy that we ended up cooking every meal at the house. The beds were so comfortable and the sound of the pond outside lulled us to sleep. The location was perfect - we walked to the plaza, did a little shopping and came home and relaxed in the hot tub. I would definately recommend stopping in at The Taos Inn for their grilled asparagus appetizer and the little Winery located across the street (sorry, don't remember the name of it) for a wine tasting. And if you're up for a little gambling, the casino is just a few minutes away. I highly recommend staying at this property, the location, the cleanliness and all the comforts of home make this somewhere you hate to leave.

We arrived, late and weary, to find flowers, fresh salsa and a hot tub at the perfect temp: a happy beginning sustained in detail through the rest of our stay. As many have said, the place was spotless and rife with little pleasures. The mosaics are gorgeous. The Master Bath tub is huge. The robes are light and velvety-soft. We loved the Tempur-pedic bed and took advantage of the terrifically well-stocked kitchen to make a couple of meals in, even though there are plenty of good dining options within an easy walk or short drive. Warmly inviting, full of charm, with gracious, generous hosts, this home is an unqualified winner to which we would happily return. For food and drink, we recommend: Doc Martin's, Gutiz, The Anaconda Bar at El Monte Sagrado and World Cup Coffee.

Last weekend, four generations of my (very picky) family stayed here, and, miracle of miracles, no one found anything to complain about!!! It was a wonderful experience for all of us, from my 84 year-old mother to my teenage grandsons. The pictures don't quite do it justice because we all thought it was even prettier than what we saw online. The boys loved the loft/meditation room and everyone loved the hot tub and koi pond. Sanjay was the perfect host - we had plenty of cereal, fresh fruit, milk, and even a bottle of wine. He also guided us to Orlando's, a very good, very casual and reasonable restaurant for dinner. My daughter and partner took the boys hiking one morning, and we all attended a number of artists' receptions that evening, thanks to the guidebooks Sanjay suppled. We would never have found any of that on our own in the short time we were in Taos. This is an excellent value for just about anyone, and we all intend to return.

My son, two grandsons and I spent 4 days in the artist's atelier in Taos. The house is exactly as depicted in the photos - beautiful and SPOTLESS. From Sanjay meeting us at the house to show us around to the fruit provided in a bowl to the unique artistic touches throughout the house, it was perfect. Absolutely everything we could have needed was provided. It was close to the plaza and around the corner from the Monte Segrado for the wedding we attended. Unfortunately Taos was experiencing an unusual hot spell and the house was not air conditioned. But then most places in Taos are not air conditioned. In a cool season, I would definitely stay in this house again. I thought it was lovely and very comfortable. One of the nice things was that in the master bedroom, you could hear the water fallling into the koi pond. There was food in the fridge and bathrobes. Travel brochures, books. videos, cds Unusual artwork. Very well cared for. I would recommend anyone expecting to stay in Taos consider this property.

Spring Break Retreat

It's hard to do justice to our superlative Spring Break experience at this outstanding home in 2500 characters! Based on the online photos and my email correspondence with Sanjay, my expectations were high. However, they were continually exceeded when we stepped into the home and met Sanjay in person. Not only was the home spotless and well-appointed, but there were fresh flowers, wine, chips, fruit and a fridge stocked with essentials. Still there were more wonderful surprises to come reflecting Sanjay's gracious hospitality and concern for guests' comfort, like plush terry robes tucked in the master bedroom closets. The den and loft are wonderful private oases for children or adults. Proximity to Taos Plaza and historic sites, galleries and restaurants is heaven for the non-skier!

We stayed here during the Taos Winter Wine Festival. The home is clean and comfortable and in a great location. The owner is outstanding. Even though we 2 couples were only there for 2 nights, Sanjay greeted us with a bottle of wine. There was a large bowl of fresh fruit. The kitchen was stocked with milk, eggs, cereal, coffee, etc.

After a long drive to lovely Taos, I was delighted to find a warm house with a stocked refrigerator. It had every amenity to host a dinner party for 11 including a grill and food processor. It was comfortable and quiet but close to the plaza, many wonderful restaurants, and the Taos Pueblo.

Enjoyed the decor and heated floors. Maintenance was lacking but the place had a "sale pending" sign outside so owner was probably winding down. Our companions found uncovered windows disarming but I enjoyed watching the snow! sunsets and trees. We would return to this condo if it were available (not sold).

Our stay at the Artists' Atelier exceeded our very high expectations. The condo was spotless, but what impressed us the most was the care taken by the owner to make us feel welcome. We were greeted by fresh cut flowers, a full range of guide books to help us maximize our stay, and even some basic provisions so we did not have to rush to the market. The condo is distinctive and well furnished, the grounds are tranquil, and the Plaza is a short walk away. We truly valued the personal service we received and will definitely stay at the Artists' Atelier next year.
