We have a lower flat in the Noe Valley neighborhood. It's a wonderful place for couples, singles & families. The streets are lined with Victorian houses, the area is safe, quiet & clean. Our flat is very comfortable and easy to live in. There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds as well as a daybed with trundle for additional sleeping for 2 persons. All utilities are included as well as digital cable with HBO, Showtime Cinemax, Encore & Starz to be viewed on the 37' flat panel TV. We supply the bed linens, bath towels, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee maker, high speed internet with WIFI too! We have a landscaped, Southern facing, backyard with comfortable lawn area, seating area and sun deck in the back. We do not have private parking but parking is free on the streets out front.
We are child friendly: Casa de Julia welcomes children. We provide children's dishes, cups and utensils and can provide a crib and or booster chair free of charge just let us know what you need. The flat is not overly decorated and does not have fragile items down low, which makes it easy when watching over small children who like to get in to everything. ;)
If your dates are not available at Casa de Julia please consider our 2nd floor flat Casa Feliz sleeps 4 and is not suitable for small mobile children or persons with mobility problems-there are 18 stairs that lead up the flat and could make it difficult for little ones or persons with joint, back or other mobility problems.. You can view pictures and further details on Casa Feliz on Homeaway advertisement #378494.

We stayed here for two weeks and the place really felt like home. The house is in great condition and has everything you need to keep a family running. The kitchen has all the things you might need and the laundry is a great help if you have kids. The area is really nice. You are close to the 24th street shops and a Whole Foods, great delivery pizza and coffee at Bernie's. It is also really close to transport. The wireless internet and tv is great. From the back yard you have a nice view down the hill of the rest of Noe. We slept 6 (2 young children and 4 adults) comfortably. We would stay here again and again. Wendy was very accommodating and responsive to all our needs and inquiries.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much. We would love to have you back any time. Take care & cheers! ;0)

Condo in a nice neighborhood of Noe Valley, very very well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Near the public transport and grocery. No need for a car. We discovered the city with four kids and the grandmother. Golden Gate Park, Muir Woods, Marin headlands (Nike missile), downtown San Francisco, embarcado pier 39 and many of quarties San Francisco. Thank you Casa De JuliaRecommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Did you find this review helpful? I have stayed at Casa de Julia several times and I have always been delighted. The flat is comfortable and well appointed, the kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with pots, pans and dishes, and the queen-sized beds are really nice and cozy. The neighborhood is quiet and the lovely street is not bad for parking...though it IS San Francisco and you've got to pay attention to the signs. The walk down to 24th Street is pleasant and there you can shop at Whole Food, get bagels or pastries for breakfast, browse interesting businesses and eat at some great restaurants. The J Church Muni line is located at 24th and Church Street, so for $2 (bring dollars or exact change) it is easy to get downtown or to the Embarcadero, (take the transfer!). Staying in Noe Valley gives you the real San Francisco...not the congested ares that tourists mostly visit. The houses in the neighborhood are beautiful. Though hilly, it is a good walk 20 minute to Castro Street, or down to Valencia and the Mission...or you can drive there easily. I also took an 8-year old to Dolores Park playground and kitty-corner for a Bi-Rite salted caramel ice cream cone...nice memories. I've used this VRBO for business visits and with friends and family...it is a bonus that the dining room table is large enough for dinners and also for working on projects. The host is available quickly by email...and has always been friendly and helpful. All and all, a great place to be your San Francisco home base.Did you find this review helpful? Casa De Julia provided our family of 4 the perfect base to explore the amazing San Francisco. It was clean, comfortable and cozy with all the comforts of home. Having access to a laundry and kitchen at such a reasonable rate was perfect for us. The neighbourhood was easily accessable with some good restaurants as well as a market and bakery and other speciatly shops only 10 minutes walk from the front door. All the sights of San Francisco were a relatively short trip away. Public transport is accessable but we used taxis to get to the academy of science, alcatraz ferries and the city and paid no more than $24. We drove across the golden Gate bridge which was very easy to get to from Casa De Julia. Parking is on the street but we found a space only 2 doors down and the street is a quiet one with very little through traffic. Wendy, our host gave us thorough information prior to our trip and her personal tips made us feel very welcome (and were spot on). Everything was as promised and promoted and this accommodation helped make our stay in San Francisco one of the many highlights of our trip around California. I will be recommending Casa De Julia to any friends and family heading to San Francisco in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I've only used HomeAway once in SF but there could not be a more easy property to arrange -- the owner's process, attentiveness and attention to every detail could not have been better before we arrived and all continued to her communications after we left. I can also echo everyone else commenting on the safe family friendly neighborhood as well -- it was fantastic to "live" in a neighborhood and avoid hotel lobbies. We found perfect accommodations for our family of four in a great neighborhood with easily accessible public transportation on MUNI (with the MUNI bus at 22 and Castro or the "J" at 22 and Church). Inside of Casa de Julia was a perfectly kept set of bedrooms, dining room, family room and a very well-stocked kitchen (and a pleasant backyard with peaches dropping from a tree next door)! Shops and restaurants along 24th and Church were so easy to walk to (along with groceries at Whole Foods), After digesting all of the clear directions and recommendations of the owner (who is well on the way to her own travel guide), we spent the remainder of our first day getting on Left Coast time by walking over to Twin Peaks and found a fabulous overview of the city! From there we easily worked all of the tourist stops (Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, Chinatown, Lombard Street) as well as Japantown, Golden Gate Park, the Exploratorium, the Embarcadero). If you'd like to try some very good food nearby you have great options (including Incanto, Chris Cosentino's restaurant b/w 27th and 28th on Church)! I would also very highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to San Francisco. We will certainly hope to visit again on our next trip to SF.Did you find this review helpful? The process and support of the property owner was excellent! The flat was clean and comfortable. The owner was very attentive and informative from start to finish. The property is perfectly located to everything in San Francisco, yet set in a safe family friendly enviorenment. I would highly reccomend this property to anyone travelling to San Francisco but even more so to families. We stayed 8 days with our 6 year old twins and it was safe, quiet, and comfortable yet close (walking distance) to stores, restaraunts, and Delores Park. The owner provided clear direction for everything from how to work the TV, to the parking, to restaurants and local establishments. It was everything and more. I highly reccomend to all my friends and family as well as hope visit again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Nice well-maintained apartment on a level, quiet street, almost in the shadow of Twin Peaks (you can see the hills from the street). The pictures don't do it justice. We stayed here with our two sons (ages 19 & 14), and there was plenty of space for all of us. Street parking was convenient. Just a few blocks walk to the Muni stop, and 16 minutes later, you're at Union Square! It was a short walk down to 24th Street, where there were a lot of nice little places to eat (we particularly liked Savor and Barney's Burgers). We also walked a mile or so to the Mission district to admire the murals (hint: Balmy Alley is more famous, but we preferred Lilac Street, a few blocks west). If you want a nice workout, climb the nearby hill on 22nd Street between Church & Sanchez - it really impressed this flatlander! Would heartily recommend this apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Great stay! We were a group of 5 including 2 small kids (1yr & 4.5yrs), and I must say that this place was fully equipped. It was very clean and comfortable, and the area was safe and conveniently located. Every morning we walked to the Noe Valley bakery to get fresh pastries and coffee...so good! We also picked up some groceries at the nearby Wholefoods and cook dinner a few times during the week we were there. It was also extremely pleasant dealing with Wendy. She was friendly, quick, and helpful at all times. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon!Owner response: We loved having you and hope to have you back again soon. :)

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1940
About the owner: My grandmother and her husband purchased this house in the 1940's, my mother grew up in the flat and I was born her in the 60's. My mother and I lived upstairs while my grandmother, Julia, lived in the downstairs unit. The flat is name in her honor Casa de Julia.
Why the Owner Chose Noe Valley:
The house has been in my family for more than 60 years.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The neighborhood is phenomenal, our little micro climate in Noe Valley insures that if there is sun to be had we will get it! Noe Valley is the most laid back area of San Francisco where you can get a real local vibe without feeling unsafe or being in a area that is too stuffy. Noe Valley would have been the place that Goldilocks chose, because it's 'just right'. :)
