Wonderful Vacation in Nassau

We traveled to the Bahamas to attend a wedding and stayed in Julie's lovely Townhouse from October 23-30, 2010. Her townhouse was very clean, comfortable, well equipped, secure and convenient to the wedding, and all of our other adventures. The professionalism of our contract combined with the warm hospitality upon arrival was much appreciated. We especially liked being picked up at the Airport by Cheryl and our trip to the grocery store. While we thought we would do some cooking on our vacation we ended up only fixing breakfast and enjoying it on the back patio, communing with the birds and the two resident cats. We were able to catch the bus or walk to numerous locations and then we took cabs back in the evening. During a few relaxing moments we watched the video provided of the 2009 Junkanoo and wish that we could return for the Boxing Day Extravaganza. The Bahamanian people were all very friendly and made our vacation a very pleasant and memorable one.

My family and I spent a blissful 2 weeks in The Townhouse. The location for exploring is excellent and it is really easy to find your way around the whole island from such a good base. We enjoyed walking to the beautiful Cable Beach which is literally at the end of the road. The beach is so peaceful and very safe for kids that refuse to leave the water, as ours did!! The Townhouse itself is very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you may need. If you do happen to need anything then Julie is so friendly and accommodating. It honestly felt more like staying with friends for us, than a holiday let. We cannot wait to return and feel we have been spoilt for future European trips that will never live up to this awesome Island!! The 3 main reasons to visit are, wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and most importantly the friendly and welcoming Bahamian People. Big Thanks to Julie and Cheryl for making our time in The Bahamas so special.

The Golden Girls had a great time

My 3 sisters and I took a vacation to the Bahamas in July and we had a great time. I chose this rental based on the great reviews, so now I want to add my own. We were picked up at the airport by Cheryl, who dubbed us the Golden Girls and quickly became our friend who looked out for us the rest of the trip! Julie was so helpful and accomodating and wanted to make sure our vacation was as good as possible. The free phone to the States was very much appreciated as it let us keep in contact with our families and our elderly mother. We had a laptop with us, so the free Wifi let us keep in touch with our friends and family on Facebook. Cheryl took us on a tour around the entire island and showed us everything her beloved island had to offer. When we weren't being driven around by her, we learned how to take the bus going to the fish fry, downtown shopping and snorkeling. We loved the house, it was perfect for us 4 sisters and would certainly be perfect for a family. It was very clean and we loved just spending time there relaxing. We enjoyed the gardens and my sister would go out every morning and pick a fresh mango for us to eat. The beach is just a short walk down the road and we usually spent time there every morning relaxing in the warm salty water. Most of the time, we would be the only ones on the beach. We had such a great time and loved the house and the neighborhood. It was very quiet and we felt very secure. Thanks to Julie and Cheryl, we had a vacation time to remember. I would recommend this rental to anyone. Be sure and take Cheryl's tour of the island - it gives you a great overview of everything.

Great location, clean and comfortable

We stayed at Julie's townhouse for 11 days while working in the Bahamas. It was so nice to have her next door to help with information and advice and great directions around town. The unit was comfortable and clean. We could fix our own meals in the full kitchen and there was a washer and dryer in the condo. It is well located near restaurants, the beach, and main roads. The unit is secure within a gated community and it had good locks on the doors. We enjoyed returning to this comfortable home away from home each night.

Wonderful Vacation Spot!

Our family stayed for a week in Nassau. We were so glad we picked this townhouse for our vacation home. Julie is such a dear and very accommodating. We were picked up at the airport by Cheryl who started the welcome and tour and delivered us to the townhouse. Soon after, we were greated by Julie! She immediately continued the welcome and took us to the nearby grocery store. The townhouse was very roomy, clean, and extremely comfortable for our family (parents and two young adult children). We walked daily to the beautiful and relaxing nearby beach, hopped a bus for our travels around Nassau, and immersed ourselves in the Bahamian experience. We enjoyed the downtown atmosphere and even spent a day at Blue Lagoon Island. It was a wonderful ride to this incredible friendly beach area where my daughter and I swam with dolphins (Dolphin Encounter). It was awesome!

Just returned from a peaceful week at this pleasant property. The host family were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean, comfortable and just as described. Ate fresh bananas picked from the tree, as well as limes, Swiss chard, pigeon peasthat we picked ourselves. Great tour of the fish ponds and many different varieties of orchids grown on the property. The walk to the beautiful beach was easy, buses were easy to use. We cooked our own dinners in the modern kitchen or grill and ate outside on the back porch. Lunches were either in town or at Indigo, Marley resort or Compass point - all lovely. We shared pictures of a new grandson born while we were there, congratulations! Cheryl, the taxi driver was friendly and reliable. Our only criticism is of the island itself. There is way too much car traffic and poor sidewalks, walking trails. It would be an ideal place for travel by foot or bicycle but the roads are too narrow and there are too many cars to make it safe. Maybe the PM whom we saw drive by daily could address this issue. I stayed in Julie's townhouse unit with two of my teacher colleagues and we had a fabulous time. We chose the unit because Julie was offering such great ad ons. The trip to and from the airport as well as the trip to the grocery store made out stay so convenient. Additionally, the location of the unit was perfect. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the time we had in Nassau, thanks to the the friendly and gracious host, Julie! She and her family truly made us feel so welcomed! The townhome was just as beautiful as the pictures, and truly had all the conveniences to make our stay so great! Also, thanks to Cheryl for picking us up at the airport!! She is such a wonderful, friendly person! (By the way, we would highly recommend that any vistors to Nassau schedule an island tour with her....she is highly knowledgable about the Bahamian history & culture!) We stayed at Julie's condo during our 1st visit to the Bahamas. It was a wonderful home, and conviently Julie lives just a couple of units down and was able to provide directions, recommendations, etc... Upon arrival to the house Julie took us to the store to pick up some groceries. She made excellent recommendations for places to visit. Her hospitality was so appreciated! The house was so nice, we are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) and there was plently of room for all. The house is within walking distance of Goodman's Bay (nice beach area) and is your up for a little longer walk, you can walk to the Fish Fry (highly recommended for some local food). We had a wonderful visit to the island, and look forward to coming back!

Our family of 5 stayed at the condo for one week in March 2010. We had a wonderful time. Julie and her family were very nice, always enquiring if we needed anything. Her brother took our children for a tour of the garden, showed them the fish and even gave them some bananas and passion fruits! Our children enjoyed the garden, the birds and the fish. The condo was perfect for our family. Quiet place to stay with young kids. Close to the beach and downtown. We enjoyed going to the Fish Fry, to local markets, to Paradise Island. We highly recommend this property. We all loved the Bahamas and we will surely come back.

Larry and I stayed at Julie's beautiful townhouse Feb. 11-16th. We had a wonderful time walking on the beach, eating at the fish fry, visiting the straw market and seeing the aquarium at Paradise Island. Cheryl picked us up at the airport and shared some history about Nassau. She was more than willing to take us anywhere we would like to go. Julie was great! She took us to the food market the first night we were there. She made sure we had everything we needed. The townhouse was clean and just a five minute walk to the beach and bus. We enjoyed cooking on the gas grill that was there for us to use. We were not ready to leave this beautiful place. Looking forward to seeing Julie and Cheryl again!!

My husband, 2 yr old daughter and I stayed at this property for 7 nights in Jan 2010. The townhouse lived up to my expectations and the description provided. It was clean, nicely furnished, well equipped and safe. The gardens were beautiful and we enjoyed eating bananas right off the tree! Our daughter loved the fish, birds and cats on the property. Julie was a great host, always accessible and offering help beyond my expectations. It was a great island to visit. I would recommend Nassau and this property without reservation.

We rented both of Julie's townhouses for a week and we had a great time. The townhouses and it's grounds are very clean and well-kept. Transportation was no problem as Cheryl was willing to take our group of 12 virtually anywhere. Julie was a great hostess and even checked to make sure that our families were okay back home when an earthquake shook Grand Cayman. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental to anyone who is heading to Nassau! Hope to see you again Julie and Cheryl!

VERY, VERY NICE PLACE. I and my daughters enjoyed our stay at the townhouse from 2 to 12 October 2009. The weather was nice and hot (no rain!) My daughter and I stayed at the condo over the christmas holidays. We could not have asked for a better home away from home during our stay. The townhouse was very clean, fully equipped, and very private. Julie was a wonderful host, who would from time to time check on us to see if we needed anything. This year we decided to look for accommodations on Nassau side. I am so glad that I discovered Julie's townhouse. The accommodations fit our needs perfectly. "Julie and her family were unbelievable kind, generous, and hospitable. They went above and beyond what they needed to make our stay comfortable. Even the neighbors were amazing! The property was very clean and very well maintained. Julie ensured we had everything we needed. The only complaint we had was the condo was a ways from down town, however we went down town every day, but taking the busses was easy, accessible and fun! Love the straw market, but after a few days it can get tiresome. Just be careful when deciding where to go when clubbing. We had a wonderful time and will be back!!!!!!"

Upon arriving at the airport, our very friendly driver, Cheryl, drove us to the townhouse and gave us lots of tips about things to do in Nassau and how to get around. Staying at the townhouse, instead of a hotel, offered a bit of an opportunity to experience what it is like to live in Nassau. We met many friendly local people while at the beach, shopping at the market, and eating at the Fish Fry. The townhouse was clean, roomy and relaxing for our family of four, and it was very well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, a large dining area, TV's, even laundry detergent for the washing machine. We loved walking out the back door and picking a mango to eat with our breakfast! It is a five minute walk to the beach and it was not at all crowded. The bus line is close and you can get to anywhere you want to go for $1.25. We had a great experience and look forward to our next trip back!

Our family of four enjoyed our 10 day stay at the townhome. The townhome is very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed having space to relax. It was wonderful to have a kitchen and laundry. We really enjoyed the fresh mangos! Julie was very nice and helpful both before and during our trip.

I stayed in this townhouse for a week in April 2009 with two friends. The townhouse was spacious and clean. There was alot of room for all three of us. This space would be suitable for two couples traveling together or a family. It was close to the beach and close to the 10 bus route which allowed us to travel to different parts of Nassau easily. Julie was extremely helpful and friendly and ensured that we had everything that we needed. I highly recommend this property and thank Julie for all her help and assistance. We had the most pleasant stay and can not wait to come back!

My husband and I and our two teenagers stayed at Julie's condo for a week and had a lovely time. Cheryl was waiting to pick us up at the airport and kindly offered her services should we need a taxi anytime during our trip. We booked her for a ride back to the condo after a dinner out downtown. The buses in Nassau stop running around between 6:30 or 7:00 pm. Julie’s condo was very clean and had all the comforts of home. There is a new barbecue for nights you would like to eat in and sample some delicious local seafood. My children enjoyed the wireless internet and a good selection of DVD's for family movie watching in the evening. Cable Beach is a short walk away and was beautiful. Julie and her family are extremely warm and friendly and their hospitality was exceptional. We learned so much about the island, its people and its culture. Julie's mom is an excellent cook who treated us to some delicious homemade Bahamian food. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

My wife and I, and our two year old, needed a last-minute escape from the Canadian cold weather. After deciding upon the Bahamas, we tried to determine where best to stay. The hotels seemed extremely over-priced for the ammenities offered and the traveller reviews received, so we decided to rent a home or apartment, as we had done before when we travelled to France. Boy - did we luck out! A previous reviewer of this property had commented that the homeowner and her family made you feel as if you were a part of their family. I would agree whole-heartedly with that assessment. She (and her family) were extremely accomodating, and offered rides to the grocery store and to the market. The homeowner offered tips and advice about the island, which was perfect for persons like us, who were newcomers to the Bahamas. The property is wonderful. It is clean and new (it seems five to ten years old to me). It is quite spacious. There is plenty of room in the kitchen for preparing meals, if you so desire, and a full dining table for eating. The couches were very comfortable, and the television had a number of channels (including two Canadian channels). My wife and I decided to not rent a car; we walked the five minute walk to the main road/beach area, and then hopped on the public buses or walked to our destinations. Our two year old loved the buses! He also loved the children's playground at one of the nearby beaches. My boyfriend and I brought his parents and stayed in this town house for a week in April. We had a great time. Julie made us feel welcome and would help us with anything we required. As soon as we arrived in the airport transportation was arranged for us, and getting to the townhouse and starting our vacation was easy. Myself and 5 friends stayed here in April for one week and had a wonderful time! It was great having Julie right next door, we felt safe and welcomed. Access to the beach was a short walk and to the buses as well. We also loved having Cheryl the taxi driver available to call if we needed her. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thanks again Julie for everything! We hope to see you again!

"Julie and her family were unbelievable kind, generous, and hospitable. They went above and beyond what they needed to make our stay comfortable. Even the neighbors were amazing! The property was very clean and very well maintained. Julie ensured we had everything we needed. The only complaint we had was the condo was a ways from down town, however we went down town every day, but taking the busses was easy, accessible and fun! Love the straw market, but after a few days it can get tiresome. Just be careful when deciding where to go when clubbing. We had a wonderful time and will be back!!!!!!"

My husband and I stayed at Julie's townhouse for two weeks in March, 2009. We were extremely pleased with all facets of our stay. Our taxi driver, Cheryl, was at the airport upon our arrival and she provided excellent information regarding the Island during the drive to the townhouse. Once we arrived, Julie promptly showed us the townhouse. The townhouse was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The stove, fridge and gas BBQ were brand new which made preparing meals very easy. On our first evening Julie took us for groceries and gave us a tour of downtown Nassau and the surrounding area. Julie frequently checked to see if there was anything we needed. Julie and her family brought us goodies, such as, homemade buns and tropical fruits during our stay. One day, Julie took us on a tour of the Island which included a trip to a fish market to buy fresh fish. When we arrived home, Julie said that her mother would cook the fish for us. That evening we were treated to bahamian style grouper, rice and fried plantain which was delicious. We were treated like family and really enjoyed our trip.

Wonderful Family Vacation

My husband and I and our two teenagers stayed at Julie's condo for a week and had a lovely time. Cheryl was waiting to pick us up at the airport and kindly offered her services should we need a taxi anytime during our trip. We booked her for a ride back to the condo after a dinner out downtown. The buses in Nassau stop running around between 6:30 or 7:00 pm. Julie’s condo was very clean and had all the comforts of home. There is a new barbecue for nights you would like to eat in and sample some delicious local seafood. My children enjoyed the wireless internet and a good selection of DVD's for family movie watching in the evening. Cable Beach is a short walk away and was beautiful. Julie and her family are extremely warm and friendly and their hospitality was exceptional. We learned so much from them about the island, its people and its culture. Julie's mom is an excellent cook who treated us to some delicious homemade Bahamian food. Thank you for making our trip so memorable, what a great family vacation!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Nous avons passe 1 semaine formidable. ! Un accueil chaleureux, des attentions durant tout le sejour... ! L'emplacement de l'appartement offre un bon compromis entre plage et centre ville. Très bien équipé, il permet d'accueillir une famille au complet dans d'excellentes conditions. Pour notre premier séjour à nassau nous ne pouvions rêver mieux.

We were extremely comfortable and the owner was friendly and reliable. The accommodation and location are particularly suitable for families with children. My wife, parents and I returned from our vacation in the Bahamas in extremely high spirits thanks to Julie and her wonderful family. If you are looking for a getaway with a genuine taste of local hospitality, this is definitely the place to be! Julie did her best to make us feel perfectly at home by introducing us to Bahamian foods. In addition, she took on the role of concierge to help us plan and execute our activities such as snorkeling and sight-seeing. We felt very much at home during our visit. My family and I really enjoyed cooking fresh fish and lobster from the market along with local fruits and vegetables. The location is great since the #10 and #10A buses run eastward and westward. You have your choice of many, many activities just by taking these buses which are a three-to-five minute walk from the villa. The surrounding community is gated, very peaceful and quiet. During our stay in February, the nights were cool enough not to need air conditioning thanks to the sea breeze. In fact, we didn't need any climate control the entire time, even though it was available. Thanks again Julie!!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Me and my 4 kids ages 15,13,4,2 along with my brother ,his wife and 2 kids and my sister and her boyfriend stayed at the condo. It was very spacious,clean safe and quiet.The place was close to 2 public beaches with in a few blocks and buses every 5 minutes. Walking distance to "Fish Fry" . Lots of tropical fruits . This condo has everything you would probably have at home. The owners were GREAT. This was one our best trips ! Hope you enjoy it as much as we ALL did!

Great spacious, tidy, very well-maintaned place, conveniently located. Reach several beaches on foot, others by bus, taxi or rental car. Very family-friendly home equipped with everything you need. Our 1.5 year-old son was totally enthusiastic about the tropical fruits and pets in the backyard. Owners are very hospitable and attentive, we felt as part of the family. They even treated us to a luxurious Thanksgiving meal! We liked this personable and truly authentic Bahamian expericence much better than any artificial hotel environment.

Spacious Condo - Great Value

Four of us stayed at the condo from Nov 10 to Nov 16, 2008. It was very spacious and clean. Here are the highlights of the condo: - Great price when compared to other condos and hotel rooms. - Two bedrooms and 2.5 baths - very clean - Large dining table with plenty of silver ware - Kitchen with toaster, gas stove, oven, large refrigerator - Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and dining area. - Central Air conditioning - Cable TV, DVD Player - Wireless Internet - Washer/dryer - About a 5 min walk to the bus stop - which takes you to Cable Beach and downtown Nassau. Bus rides are $1.25. I think this is a great option vs. renting an expensive car or scooter. Buses run until 7pm. Once bus service ends, we took taxis everywhere. - Owners are very attentive and friendly As you can tell, we were VERY satisfied with the condo and recommend it to anyone. Just remember, this is not a hotel, so you won't be able to leave a mess in the morning and come back in the afternoon to find the place cleaned up. That being said, this is great for 2-6 people and is priced right.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and central for a quiet walk to catch the local bus. Totally awesome experience.
