The cabin was a perfect get-a way. The weather in Florida has been so hot that a change was just the thing. The cool crisp days and nights were comfortable. The cabin was our base camp for hiking and seeing the local sites. We hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at the cabin the week of 9/17/11 thru 9/24. We enjoyed every minute of it. Even the rain was soothing at night and it usually cleared by the time we were ready to travel down the mountain. Our first afternoon we even saw a small black bear crossing the road on the mountain. Jim was just a phone call away to answer any questions we had. There were plenty of things to do and see. The Foxfire Museum was literally just down the road and a definite stop if you enjoy local history. The Dillard House and the Cupboard Cafe remain our favorite places to eat. We hope we can return soon, even if it's for a long weekend.

My husband and I just returned from our stay at the cabin. We had a wonderful weekend! Everything about the cabin was accurately advertised. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and the charcoal grill. Our visit to the Osage Farmers Market was great! We picked up everything we needed for a nice dinner on Saturday evening that we enjoyed outside on the picnic table. We also loved our visit to Black Rock Mountain State Park. The views were incredible! We hope to return to the cabin the next time we need a quiet break from the city.

My family had a wonderful stay here in July 2011. This quiet, secluded retreat was just far away from everything to be very peaceful, yet close enough to eating and shopping to be convenient. This is an outstanding cabin to relax, unwind, and recharge! I hope that we can make this place an annual getaway locations!

We just spent a week, from July 15th to 22nd at Black Bear Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and the amenities provided. We were in Georgia for a family reunion with most of the rest of the family staying in cottages at Black Rock Mountain State Park. I liked our cabin much better than those at the state park. The screened porch was absolutely delightful! Morning coffee on that porch was so enjoyable. We had a full house with 7 people for the first couple nights and then the "kids" went home, leaving the "grownups" alone to soak up the peace and quiet. A meal at the Dillard House is a must. All of us went for breakfast on Sunday morning - what a treat. The Foxfire Museum is another must and is just around the corner. I would recommend this property to any and every one.

The stay at your cabin was much more than what we expected. We can't wait to return for a longer stay. We always dreamed of being snowed in a cabin somewhere up in the North Georgia Mountains. Well it had already snowed when we arrived on Saturday and the roads was clear enough just to get to the cabin. So we unloaded and had a Blast! Everything was just like the pictures showed and even better. It was a white wonderland. After viewing all the folders that was in the cabin of the waterfalls and other attractions in the area we can't wait to return and explore when the snow is gone. The owners are very helpful and willing to help with any info you need and don't mind you contacting them. The cabin has any and everything you could even think of needing. The weather kept us in, but we never got bored not even once. We even done something we haven't done in years. We baked some sweet potatoes in the fireplace. If you are not able to keep your dates to stay, please let us know. Thanks for allowing us to visit your cabin, our "Dream Cabin".

We had an interesting time in the cabin. We arrived for a three day stay on December 10, 2010 (Friday though Sunday night). We ended up snowed in until Wednesday. It snowed on Saturday night and then got very, very cold and the snow just didn't melt (nor did they clear the roads up in the mountain). We still had a great time and the owners were helpful in letting us stay until we could get down the mountain safely. How could being snowed into a cute a little cabin with your husband be a bad thing????? The cabin and area covered in snow was pretty. We hope to come back and do some cycling sometime soon when it is warmer!

This was a very comfortable cabin with everything that a home away from home needs. Nice wooded lot yet a very convenient location and easy to find. We had loads of fun, with having Thanksgiving Dinner at the Dillard House, shopping in Pigeon Forge and hiking to a couple of waterfalls around Lake Rabun. This was the first time that we had visited the Lake Rabun area - the scenery was beautiful. The waterfall book was excellent with all the information and the detailed directions. The only problem that we encountered was that we did not want to return home. We loved everything about the cabin and hope to return in the future. Thanks so much for allowing us the use of your home. The Thrift's

We had a wonderful time enjoying the crisp mountain air, horseback riding, and the beautiful fall colors. An early November snowfall made the holiday season seem very close. Overall, a very relaxing weekend!!

Just spent the Labor Day weekend at the Black Bear lodge with my son and his friend and had an awesome time. The cabin is everything that is advertised - Clean, well decorated, all the amenities one would need, and an excellent location. The cabin is a few minutes drive from Black Rock State Park with some great hiking trails, waterfalls and one of the best scenic overlooks in North Georgia. We were in the area to Whitewater raft the Chattooga River. The cabin was a perfect location for this since it was only a short 15 minute drive to the river. There are several great dining options in the area if you choose not to cook all of your meals. We decided to grill out one night at the cabin and the other night we drove a quick 10 minutes to the world famous Dillard House. The Dillard house has been featured on the Food Network and is known for it's home cooked, all you can eat, country style dining. Needless to say, the two 16 year old boys thought they were in heaven. We enjoyed our stay and plan on returning soon.

Thank you for sharing your nice, cozy clean cabin in the woods near Black Rock State Park. It was very quiet and peaceful and just far enough out of town. We enjoyed the wildlife, hiking in the nearby state parks and several of the local restaurants.

We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings at Black Bear Lodge. The cabin was furnished and decorated with a rustic charm. Everything we needed was provided except for a microwave which would have been a bonus. The cabinets were well stocked with pots and pans and the refrigerator was also full of condiments. We found the sofa very uncomfortable and it made relaxing in the evening difficult after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. The view from Black Rock Mountain State Park was stunning!! We look forward to returning to the area.

I don't even know where to begin because everything was amazing. This by far was one of the best family vacations we ever had!!! The cabin was extremely clean and felt just like home! We stayed at the cabin for 6 nights and we could have stayed even longer. There was so much to do in the area. We look forward to visiting again really soon.

Our family of 4 spent a wonderful week staying at Black Bear Lodge. The cottage was tastefully decorated and most comfortable with a very adequate kitchen. Its location was a bonus also - nestled part way up the mountain, private, minutes drive from Black Rock State Park entrance, convenient to Clayton and for visiting the many parks and waterfalls in this beautiful corner of Georgia.
