Stayed here for a weekend girl getaway, hoping for a comfy, cozy place for us foodies to call home for a couple of days. Location was fine, but there's a lot of construction on the street and traffic noise from the freeway and Napa is at the bottom of the Valley so there was a fair amount of drive time (joining that traffic) to get to Yountville (highly suggest Ad Hoc for the best meal of your life or box lunch from Addendum), St. Helena and Calistoga for shopping/wine tasting (Hint: take the Silverado Trail back to town). House is charming but "nicely appointed kitchen"is a stretch. The dishes are fine but bring your own cookware if you're really wanting to stay in to cook a meal. The pots and pans are old and rusty and scratched. Also, bring your own face cloths as there is but one in the linen closet. The only one of us who didn't complain about a sore back the next morning was the one who slept on the couch. Not that it was a totally bad experience - I'd consider going back (knowing what I know) to enjoy the deck and backyard with all its flowers, and enjoy some takeout in the lovely dining room. It was definitely better than a hotel!

My friends and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Devita Bungalow a few weeks ago. We came in on a Friday night to an immaculate and inviting home. We started our trip with a bottle of wine on the back porch, enjoying the warm weather and the beautiful garden. The next day we took advantage of the bikes provided and biked around Napa to some of the recommended wineries listed in the travel guide left for us by the owners. After a long day of biking we couldn't have asked for a better way to relax than with a bbq dinner in the cozy backyard of the Devita Bungalow. Relaxation is an understatement with this home. The beds are HUGE and extremely comfortable - just what you need after a long day of wine tasting! All in all, this house is perfect for the active vacationers or those who want to stay in and relax. I can't wait to come back and visit in the near future.

Elizabeth and I spent two weeks at Devita bungalow, with friends joining us for one of those weeks. Penny and Michelle did a fine job of making us welcome and providing everything we could need while here. The bungalow - a house, really - is clean, well appointed, nicely furnished and with very comfortable king and queen beds. The kitchen had everything we could ask for, including dishwasher, wine fridge, and appliances. The pretty backyard is totally private with a picnic table, Weber grill and chairs - very relaxing. The furnishings are very warm, and comfortable. We didn't get a chance to use the bikes - weather - but appreciated them being here. The house is located in southwest Napa City,in a quiet neighbourhood of remodeled 1950's and 1960's homes and is an easy 25-30 minute level walk (or 3-5 minute drive) to major shopping, downtown restaurants and winebars, and night spots. And is within a 3 minute drive, but out of earshot, of the major valley highway north to St Helena and Calistoga. I would rate Devita as excellent value, and a great place to base a Napa Valley vacation. We had no trouble driving into San Francisco - an hour away on good roads - and were only an hour or so away from some beautiful coastal scenery and the lovely Muir Woods. We recommend Devita highly and would happily return if coming back to the Napa. Thank you Penny and Michelle.

My wife and I come to California for our anniversary every year and usually go to the Monterey Jazz Festival and only spend a day or two in wine country. This year we decided to do something different and chose the Devita Cottage for our entire vacation. From the second we walked in the door, we fell in love with the place. Everything was exactly as described, and actually even better! During the day, it is brigh and sunny, and the back yard was perfect for relaxing in the evening. The location is great, minutes from the Silverdao Trail and Rt 29. We now face a very difficult decision about what to do in 2012!!!!

I recently stayed at the Devita Bungalow for my honeymoon. It was the perfect place. We were able to have a private space to hang out and chill after a day of wine tasting, sightseeing, or going to the city. It is well located in a nice neighborhood, and only minutes from downtown Napa. I definitely recommend this rental and will be staying here again on our next trip to Napa.

My husband and I stayed here for a week and we hated to leave! The property is exactly as described and pictured. Is in a quite neighborhood in an area that we felt safe in. Sidewalks so we could walk to downtown or use the house bikes. Easy access to Hwy 29. We loved sitting on the deck at the end of a day of wine tasting. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. We hope to return- will stay here again.

I've been fortunate enough to book at the Devita Bungalow a couple of times. This place is fantastic and shows in the pride the homeowners have taken to make this place ultra special. The owners have bought into the green thing, and you'll find filtered water (in the shower too), and evidently a lot of other stuff like that as there's no icky smell here like you find in other places. The embarrassing part is this place is better outfitted than my own home - the kitchen has everything! Anyway, being in the wine country we thought we'd better venture out (not that we couldn't have lounged here all day, wine and cheese in hand with the French doors swung wide open overlooking the zen backyard (and then there's that killer barbecue grill). So we grabbed a couple of the house bikes and rode the 10 minutes into the town of Napa, had breakfast, and plotted our wine tasting tour for the next couple of days. I feel lucky to have found the Devita Bungalow. And just like Schwarzenegger, I'll be back! Thanks!!!

This was the first trip to Napa for my wife and I and we were so pleased we found this place to stay. The cost was more reasonable than a basic hotel and so comfortable and well appointed. We loved coming home to a place that felt like home where we could relax and make ourselves comfortable. The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. Having the computer there at our disposal so we didn't have to bring a laptop or worry about a internat connection was a real plus. We did nightly reasearch on the next days visits, made online reservations and looked up addresses. The fireplace was perfect for relaxing evenings with a bottle of wine and movie. The house is close to many restaurants and in the perfect locations for easy access to the Napa and Sonoma valleys. If we return to Napa we would definiely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Devita Bungalow for our second anniversary. It was our second time to the area and our first time renting a house. From the moment we decided on the Devita Bungalow and contacted Michelle, we knew we made the right decision. Michelle was not only prompt in responding to my e-mails, but was a big help in providing information about nearby grocery stores and markets. Before we arrived, we felt confident and excited about our decision to rent a house instead of stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We arrived to find a house exactly like the pictures. It was spotless! The kitchen provided all the tools we needed to cook our meals during the week and the amenities made my husband and I immediately feel at home. We loved how close we were to downtown Napa, the Silverado Trail, and the St. Helena Highway. While we know we won't make it back to Napa for at least 2 years, we have already decided that we will again stay at the Devita Bungalow! We truly felt like we were locals and loved having a house to come home to at the end of the day instead of just a room. We have already recommended the Devita Bungalow to friends who plan to visit the area in the area and will continue to recommend it to anyone looking to visit Napa! It truly was the perfect vacation home!

We stayed at the Devita Bungalow for 3 nights during the fall - which we found a great time to visit Napa Valley. It was a wonderful location, easy driving distance to many wineries and walking distance (30min) to downtown Napa for many tasting rooms. The Bungalow itself was very clean, well-maintainted and loaded with amenities, including computer/printer, wireless internet, DVDs, Bose stereo system, 3 TVs, bikes, grill, fireplace and much more! We loved the fact that the owners were environmentally conscious, making it easy to recycle and feel good about staying there. The owners were also very friendly and quickly responsive to emails. We were traveling with an infant, so we were able to enjoy our evenings outside on the porch and at the table grilling our dinner and drinking our new found liquid jewels. The Bungalow was very comfortable and user friendly for 4 adults and 1 infant and we are already looking forward to another trip to Napa and to the Devita Bungalow. I would definitely recommend this house to friends - in fact, I already did!

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Ubuntu - we had heard lots about it and it exceeded our high expectations. We also discovered a great wine store - Back Room Wines on 1st St. that has Friday evening tastings. We can't wait to return."

"Wonderful stay in your lovely home during our visit to Napa. While we had no shortage of restaurants to sample, the opportunity to stay in certain evenings and cook added to our trip. Lovely kitchen! We also enjoyed using the bikes to explore the neighborhood. Your recommendations for places to check out also came in extremely handy as did the wine refrigerator. The back yard is lovely and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. All in all, our visit was fantastic. If we return to Napa, we will definitely wish to return to this lovely home. Many thanks!"

"What a great find. Close to everything and a fabulous place to relax and unwind in the evening. The deck and gardens were warm and welcoming. Fresh rosemary in the garden for the nights we cooked in was so nice. In the area we enjoyed the Castrello di Amorosa (the Castle) winery and the sensory experience at the Franciscian. We also enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the wine train, one of our favorite activities. Dinner at Bistro Jeanty capped our stay with a wonderful mean in a very nice setting. The five days we spent here was not near enough time. We hope your enjoy your stay. Thanks for everything."

ZUZU downtown was awefome and just right for the first day. Napa Valely Grill in Yountville was wonderful and we highly recommend the Taste of Yountville. Pizzera Tra Vigne in st. Helena served excellent pizza and fride Risotto Ball..very tasty. Rombaur Vineyards was NOT as great as everyone recommended. Thank you so much for all your recommendations. It's a nicely appointed comfortable home that allowed us to entertain our family for a champagne toast get together in front of the fireplace. We felt like we were at home. Thank you Michelle for opening up your home to vacationing guests in Napa. What a great value compared to the hotels and resorts in the area. Next time my family will stay here too! "
