We enjoyed staying at your cabin. Very clean, very equipped for our needs. The only thing I would suggest is the refrigerator be updated. The freezer door falls down occasionaly and we got hit in the head a few times!! :) Kept us on our toes!! Will definitely stay again!!
Owner response:Thanks for heads up ;) on the freezer door! We will take a look at it and see if we can fix it. We really love that old fridge...it adds to the period feel of the cabin.

My family had a great long weekend staying at this adorable cabin! Take charcoal and enjoy grilling on the deck. The cabin was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The view from the top of Shadow Mountain Lookout made the 4.5 mile hike uphill well worth it. Soaking in nearby Hot Sulphur Springs is very relaxing. Memorable family trip! Thanks, Brent and Lori

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days in July with our two dogs. You cannot beat the view from the deck. The cabin was clean and cozy. I'd defiantly recommend renting a boat at Trail Ridge Marina which is just down the road. Also, the cabin is really close to downtown Grand Lake. Riding a bike there is easy and fun. It's a great location to be at for hitting up both Rocky Mnt and Arapahoe parks. We'd come back again for sure. Our only complaint would be the shower head in the bathroom. It hurts to take a shower. The water stream feels like little needles hitting you. But other than that everything was great.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Also, thank you for letting us know about the shower head. It sounds like it needs some basic maintenance since the water in the rockies is rather hard and it can clog the little holes. We will get it done!

This was a mother/daughters weekend get away in beautiful Grand Lake. The accommodations were perfect! Clean, cozy with quiet surroundings. The view of the lake from the deck was spectacular adding more serenity to our time away from the buzz. Thank you for accommodating us in such short notice.

We stayed at Brent & Lori's cabin May 20, 2011 for a few nights. It was abosultly adorable. It is well represented in the VRBO listing. We brought our 2 bulldogs and they had a blast. Cozy is the perfect way to discribe their place. We went outside for a hike, it was pretty chilly, and came back into the cabin and it was "COZY!" On our way to the cabin we stopped at Middle Park meats and picked up steaks, pork chops, & bacon, it was perfect. BBQ'd all weekend and had a great time. Bring some movies if you think it might rain or snow & some charcoal for the grill. Thanks guys! We'll be back for sure!
Owner response:Thank you for the wonderful review! We love to share our mountain cabin experience.

Dear Lori and Brent - we had the sweetest time at your cabin this weekend. We fell in love with the lake and the stars we could see from the deck! Everything was just as you'd described it and all of us had a great time - the location was outstanding and we spent all day yesterday at the Grand Lake Nordic Center, then bowling in Grand Lake that same evening. What a joy to come back to the cozy and warm cabin both days this week. It was quiet and we found everything to be comfortable and in top working order. Thanks so much and we'll be back! We enjoyed our weekend at this cabin, it was very clean and had great views over Shadow mountain Lake. A snowstorm rolled in and we had the woodstove on and it kept us cozy the whole time. The beds were clean and comfortable and the cabin met all of our needs. Grand Lake is a great town and we enjoyed the many restaurants it had to offer.
Owner response:Though the gas heater is completely adequate for heating purposes, the ambiance with the wood stove going makes for a very cozy stay in the winter time. We have enjoyed some wonderful times there when the snow flies and we are glad you did too!

We really enjoyed our stay at Brent and Lori's cabin. The view of the lake was wonderful. Our 12 year old son really enjoyed the fact that he could go fishing any time the mood struck. Their cabin was very clean and cozy and very close to a wide variety of activities to keep you busy. Thanks again for sharing your cabin with us we would rent from you again in the future.
Owner response:Thank you for the nice comments about our cabin. It's a great place for a young man (or anyone) to enjoy the rocky mountains and what they have to offer. We hope you can visit with us again

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much. It was a spur of the moment decision to come up to Grand Lake for the weekend and Lori and Brent were very accomodating to have the cabin ready for our arrival. The cabin is cozy and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed - the new double bed was very comfortable. I normally don't sleep all that well away from home, but I slept soundly at the cabin. We were able to launch our kayaks from the community beach, which was very convenient. After a day of paddling around Shadow Mountain Lake we enjoyed sitting on the deck taking in the view. The location is convenient, just minutes from the town of Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. We'd definitely rent this cabin again
Owner response:Thank you for your very nice note. We enjoy sharing our cabin and hope to hear from you guys again!

The location of this cabin is great. Grand Lake is loads of fun and there is something to do for everyone in the family. Be aware that this cabin is very pet friendly to the point that double bed smells like urine and dirty dog. We paid to stay two nights but had to leave before the second night was over because the bed was so smelly. Everytime we tried to roll over to escape the stench, the bed would squeek so loudly that it would wake our baby. I mentioned this to the owners before writing this review and all they could say is that they don't stay at the cabin because they are booked solid all summer. I'm not sure there was even an apology. We ended up driving 14 hours on about 3 hours of sleep because there were no other options for lodging and we weren't going to be any less tired if we would have waited until the morning to leave. If you don't value sleep this would be a great cabin for you... with 3 children, we do value sleep and did not find this cabin to meet our basic needs. Other than the smelly master bed the rest of the cabin seemed to be clean. One of the twin beds had dried blood on a blanket and a little dried snot on the pillow case. Good luck if you choose to stay here...
Owner response:We wish you would have called us while you were there and we would have tried to get it taken care of for you. Though nobody else complained we've gone ahead and replaced the entire bed in the master bedroom. It has a solid wood frame, new mattress and box springs, and we put new bedding on it. We also added some new wash cloths and other little things to make the cabin even better. We think that a baby could now sleep through the most restless of nights in mommy and daddy's room.
