This was a "mancation"... a trip with the boys! The kind of trip that all guys need, most don't get to do and a few lucky ones score! I have been to some of the most fantastic, plush (expensive), romantic, gorgeous places in the world (one of them even on this island of Maui) and they fall short because of the PEOPLE that give this little beach house it's "sense of place". Sitting on the beach, with only a lawn between sand and porch, the Paia Inn "girls" breeze in and out all day long making sure you have everything you need! Is the jacuzzi clean? YES. Is there enough food around? Did you find the booze?? "Oh there isn't enough, I'll be right back"... What are your plans for dinner? Want us to make a reservation for you? You have a washer/dryer right here, let's throw your riding clothes in... do you want me to show you how to use it?... Breakfast in the courtyard is from 7am to 11am, but Cetus will bring your omlette over here if you want!! The girls are gorgeous, that is obvious, but only after a few hours do you realize that they know what they are doing too!!! They anticipate your problems and needs and can do everything from line up a massage for you to mix a drink! I came to the Beach House with some friends to ride my bike with Donnie Arnoult (www.gocyclingmaui.com) because Maui is one of the best places in the world to ride, and when you have been in the saddle for 5 hours and want to come home and RELAX this beach house is the place to do it!!!! It is peaceful, quiet (so quiet that all you hear is the wind through the palm fronds) and gorgeous. The sun light comes through the house all day in the most spectacular way, with it's tropical warm hues dappling on the walls... the sound of the ocean breaking up the the silence with an occasional big wave rumble... The house itself is perfect and recently remodeled with the most exquisite, island taste. But all I do inside is sleep at night... the rest of the time I am in the sun, on the porch, in the jacuzzi, on the sand, in the ocean, walking along the beach, riding my bikeDid you find this review helpful? Absolutely fabulous. The beach house is private and located steps from the sand....the only thing separating the lanai from the beach is a small beautifully landscaped yard. You literally walk from the lanai, across the small yard, through a private gate, and you are on a beach that few seem to know about! Perfection! The house has everything you need and since it is part of the wonderful Paia Inn you are able to experience all of the amenities offered by the inn. The staff is unbelievably fantastic -- super sweet and friendly, extremely knowledgable, will meet any request quickly and will normally exceed any expectation you may have. They are all fabulous...but I got to know Nina and Tina best. Everything they arranged for me and everything they recommended turned out to be perfect. They serve breakfast in a sweet little courtyard and wine in the evening. The housekeeping staff was awesome as well. The place is spotless. Everything is decorated so tastefully...and it has a friendly yet hip atmosphere. I stayed a little over two weeks and hated to leave. I already have reservations to return. It was the perfect get away for me...I had high expectations and all were greatly exceeded. There are wonderful restaurants and coffee houses along with lovely little shops all just steps away. I am a yoga instructor and enjoyed checking out the studios in town. All great. I highly recommend the inn and the beach house...and Paia. You won't be disappointed!Did you find this review helpful? Wow! I travel all over the world for business and pleasure, but seldom do I give a "Wow" rating. From the moment we booked our reservation, the Paia Inn team exceeded our expectations. They confirmed our booking several times, asking if they could help with anything. Nina, who greeted us upon arrival was SO gracious and welcoming, even though we looked very bedraggled having just come from the beach. We loved the Beachcomber house we stayed in - cozy, but spacious. Lots of unexpected amenties. Right on a great beach, but felt very private. The whole place is a great location, as it's right in the cute funky town of Paia. Tons of great restaurants and people watching. We could walk everywhere. Paia has needed a place like this for years! OK - what would we change... a big warning for the gigantic vicious mosquitos who attacked us at night. Leave on the fans & use bug spray before going to bed. If you don't like to have lots of people around - Paia is a super busy place, but once inside the hotel, or our bungalow, it was very peaceful. Was great to have so many restaurants to choose from so close at hand. Our kids loved it (ages 11 & 18)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Staying at the Paia Inn Bechcomber was one of the best places we have ever stayed on the island of Maui. The house was clean, serene, private and exquisitely beautiful. My sons and daughter have had the best vacation yet. The staff at Paia Inn was very accomodating and friendly. We will be back!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Maui Beachcomber in Paia, HI is simply the best place on the island to stay. The location is magical - tucked in between the very hip town of Paia and the beautiful beach of Paia Bay. The house has all of the modern amenities you need - but you won't because you'll be spending time on the great deck, lawn, beach and nearby restaurants. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating with plenty of recommendations and suggestions. We are already planning our trip for next year and may even sneak another trip in because we had such a great time. We contemplated not posting a review, to try and keep this hidden gem all to ourselves - but the place is too special to be greedy. Recommend taking a taxi from the airport - you don't need a car as everything you need is within walking distance.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a fantastic place to spend your time while on Maui! From the moment we arrived we recieved the most amazing service from the inn staff. Nina helped us with everything from where to go, how to get there and reservations to boot. I really cannot say enough about the wonderful staff of the Paia Inn. Michael, the owner, and Sarah really made us feel instantly a part of their community. We are so grateful! The house itself is the perfect get-away. Situated right on the beach, we enjoyed surf lessons right outside our front door. The front yard also provided a quiet retreat and some privacy, while still allowing us to enjoy the surf and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is well-stocked and we enjoyed taking advantage of the local organic grocery store. The in-bedroom air conditioners made every night a restful one and the outdoor patio was a favorite breakfast and dinner spot. Paia is the perfect small town with restaurants in every direction and all withing a 2-5 minute walk. I reccomend Anthony's for breakfasts and picnic lunches and the Flatbread Company for pizza dinners. Overall, we couldn't have designed a more perfect place to spend a week away from our hectic day-to-day lives. The Beachcomber offers the right balance of privacy and amenities that you just can't get with a hotel or typical rental property. We will be back!Did you find this review helpful? We had the best time at this romantic getaway. This is a hidden gem. The large grass yard is huge and goes to the beach, and the deck is where we would hang out all day. Our favorite thing to do each day was to walk the beach which takes an hour each way. If you are looking for something that is right in the town but super quiet and on the beach, there is no other place like it. The management is excellent and did everything they could to make sure our stay was perfect. HIghly recommend this place. Paia town is loaded with excellent restaurants and there is plenty to do for a week in this town.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
