Wonderful Mountain Getaway with Hot Tub and Fireplace
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake
We love this area of Colorado. It is a bit off the beaten path, yet it is close to some unique scenic areas, with lots of recreation opportunities. When we were looking for a lot to buy, we loved this location in WildAcres. The lots are well-sized and spaced, the area is quiet and neighbors are friendly.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The North Fork of the Colorado River is a short stroll down the road. The ridge behind the house provides a glorious view of Shadow Mountain Lake, the town of Grand Lake and parts of Rocky Mountain Park. Moose and Elk are frequently seen grazing in the area, often in large groups.
Owner's Map of Grand Lake
The house is located about a mile west of Shadow Mountain Lake on a well-maintained dirt road, 3 miles to the town of Grand Lake, and 5 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park.

My husband and I visited Grand Lake for a family vacation with his parents, brother, and 2 young nephews and almost teenage niece, and we all had a great time! So much to do and see for everyone in the family! The accommodations were great and everyone seemed comfortable. We had several great hikes and even saw a moose in the neighborhood! We would love to return again to make this a regular family get-together!

The cabin was a perfect "10". The kids had a blast feeding the chipmunks sunflower seeds. Each day we really enjoyed the hottub, after horseback riding,4 wheeling and whitwater rafting. My wife and I enjoyed the deck each morning drinking coffee and relaxing. One morning we walked down to the Colorado River, and saw some moose tracks. The kitchen was very well stocked and the appliances were great. We grilled outside 2 to 3 nights, and the grill was great. The house and the town of Grand Lake was a great vacation. We will be back soon (I hope) We also some elk the morning we left, they were just down the road a bit. Thank you Cowies for a great place to stay for our vacation.

We stayed here for a family vacation and found it to be everything we could hope for and more! No amenity was forgotten. It was comfortable, relaxing, and clean. The spa and fire pit are secluded from the neighbors and my kids were never bored with Xbox, air hockey and horseshoes available. There were even several moose sightings. The location was perfect for visiting all the nearby sights and not too far from Denver for a day trip to a ball game. We can't say enough good things about i!.

The weekend at this Grand Lake getaway was fantastic. Like others have said, what you see is what you get, with this fantastic property. Unlike other VRBO properties, this place was well represented with its pictures and description and had everything you want for the weekend. The hot tub, the horeshoe pit and the seclusion. It is well decorated and very comfortable, right down to the futon. Thanks, Cowies for having great taste and having us in your home. We will be back for sure.

The home is absolutely wonderful! We've stayed in other homes featured on VRBO before, and they are usually "tricky" photos that show a house that you think is going to be beautiful, but then you get there and it's all run down and dirty and things are broken and disappointing. Not so with this property! What you see is what you get!!! The kitchen was well stocked, nice appliances, everything was beautiful, the decor was very tasteful, the location and setting are beautiful! There aren't neighbors peering right on top of you, the hot tub/fire pit/grilling area and decks are pretty secluded and private! The views were fantastic, everything worked well, and we were extremely comfortable there. I can't think of a single thing I would have wished for that wasn't already there. Thanks Cowies! We'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. As others have said, no amenity has been overlooked. No hard, cheap furnishings here, comfort and relaxation is the theme. Boredom was never a problem for any of us, three generations with even a 14 year old. From horse shoes to the hot tub, we all found something to interest us. I especially liked all the books and information that were available. We fell in love with Grand Lake and the friendly people. It was just the best vacation ever. Where else can you be sitting in the hot tub or around the campfire and have a moose visit? The only problem was that we had to leave and come back to the real world.

We stayed at this wonderful mountain home over the weekend, and we had a great time. The house is just beautiful, and our three families were very comfortable there. We all had room to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The house is furnished with every amenity anyone could want - the owners have thought of everyting. We were pleasantly surprised with a moose that visited the back yard and ambled up the hillside right out the back door. We all have voted to return for our next family reunion. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!
