My 2 sons and I had a great time just being in the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. I think our last guys trip was maybe 20 years ago (long over due). How easy it was for us to enjoy each others company and to see God at work in ours lives and nature. Fishing in the area was good. Fish and relax was the order of the day. Absolutely beautiful and just what we needed. Thanks for make such a place available.

We absolutely love this cabin!!!! We went for the first time in July to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and fell in love with the cabin and the Clayton area. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to take the kids and celebrate my birthday in Jan. We will definitely be back!!!! The Lasseters

Dale, We have all returned to our "real worlds" and wanted to send a huge thank you for letting us rent your cabin! We signed the guest book, but I wanted to let you know it was an absolutely wonderful trip! The cabin is perfect - we did a lot of cooking, a lot of hanging out, and built a few fires. We did venture into Clayton Saturday, but I think we enjoyed just being in the cabin most of all. It is perfect for two couples and a great getaway - except I was ready to stay all week. And I want to send an extra thank you for working with me and answering my endless e-mails. This is the second time I've used VRBO and I'm hooked. Both times the owners have made the renting experience most enjoyable and stress-free. Thank you again for all the information and updates and for opening your home to us. I hope to be back again next year! Bailey

We loved it!!! What a great place and location, we had a wonderful time!! We grilled out both Friday and Saturday night, we had only planned to do that just Friday but the cabin was so relaxing, we decided we wanted to hang around the cabin and do the same Saturday! We stopped by Andy's market on the way in and picked up some chops & steaks, great prices on meat! On Saturday, we visited the Hardware store and then headed on to Tiger Mountain Winery. About the Cabin....... We loved it!!! What a great place and location, we had a wonderful time!! We arrived home early this afternoon from our trip to Clayton. As expected, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the cabin. It was everything we hoped for. My husband and I really enjoyed sitting out on the back deck early every morning having our coffee and enjoying the peacefulness. We had such a good time this weekend. Your place was absolutely beautiful and you were right, we didnt want to leave. My son's team had a successful weekend and made it to the championship game, but lost unfortunately. I sure do appreciate you letting us take our time on Sunday. We were able to come back from the championship game, rest a little, and then pack and leave. We did not have time to go fishing, or "shopping". My wife loves going to antique and flea market places, but we would love to come up on another weekend and do those things. Thanks again for working with me, we just loved it.

We did not see the bear. I am not sure if I am happy or unhappy about it. I think I would have been too scared to enjoy. But your cabin was just perfect. We all loved it and hope that we followed the rules for check-out. We visited the local market and the restorants that you recommended and had just wonderful time. And of-course the river trip for my guests went perfect: the raft did turn over and they all had to swim a little! Thank you, Epp

Hi Dale! The cabin was absolutely perfect! We had such a good time, thank you so much for your family’s hospitality. Rafting Saturday was great, even the weather perked up for us ? Saturday evening we walked around downtown Clayton for a while. It’s such a sweet place. It reminded my sister and I a lot of the town my mom is from in North Carolina. We went to Tallulah Gorge on Sunday and had such a good time. Got quite a work out too! I’ve never climbed so many steps! The best part for me was just being in the quiet on that mountain. It was so peaceful. My sister went so far as to pitch her tent on the back porch so she could be outside as much as possible! My boyfriend was not able to make this trip, but plan on hearing from me soon about going up again so he can experience it. I really can’t imagine a better experience than what we had…take care ?

Hi Dale ~ It rained cats and dogs, but we couldn't have had a better time. Hope your cleaning lady didn't find any disasters, because I tried to return it in nearly as good condition as we found the house. It's a special place, and I always look forward to going up there. It's nice to see the contours when there are no leaves. We had a constant fire going, and the wonderful aroma of a wood burning fireplace is particularly comfortable. You are well stocked with additional wood on the porch now too. The couple in Polly Gap are extremely personable, and fun to talk to. Great recommendation. We had lobster and filets the first night, and I fixed a wonderful Korean specialty the second. Found every utensil I needed in the kitchen, as usual. We had a leisurely trip back to Augusta; stopped at Toccoa Falls, the Elberton Guidestones, and had dinner at Hickory Knob State Park in S.C. on the way. Nothing like a holiday in the middle of the week. Best wishes, Rick

We had a wonderful time in N. GA and loved the cabin and location. The weather was a little warmer than we'd hoped, but still had a great time at the gorge!

This is a great cabin in the mountains. We stayed here for 7 nights,( 8/15/10 - 8/22/10), We had a great time. The beds were very comfortable. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. We got to the area a few hours before check in time and Mrs. Dale let us go on in. Very nice owner. We will for sure stay again next year. Can't wait to go back.
