This absolutely beautiful and charming home has majestic views of Mt. Wheeler (the tallest peak in New Mexico), the Angel Fire Ski Area, and the Moreno Valley. The home is stucco and built in the northern New Mexico Spanish Colonial style with a covered front porch the length of the house. The great room includes the living room with a beautiful kiva fireplace, dining for six to eight people plus an eating bar and a lovely, well equipped kitchen. The house was featured in the Sangre de Christo Chronicle as one of the most charming new homes built in Angel Fire in 2002.
Winter is truly a wonderland. Enjoy sunny days mixed with beautiful soft snowfalls. With an elevation of 8600' the home has easy winter access and is just minutes from major winter activities. The Angel Fire Resort Ski Area is located about two miles away. It is well known for its challenging slopes plus lots of family friendly runs. The Ski School is for all ages and skill levels. Tubbing on the mountain slopes is a favorite evening adventure. The Resort provides shuttle service from the front door to the ski area. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are right outside the back door. Or, enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country on the groomed trails of Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski Area at the top of Bobcat Pass between Angel Fire and Red River. Try your hand at snow mobiling in the National Forest which surrounds Angel Fire. At the end a day filled with winter activities, relax in the cozy living room and look out on a winter wonderland, warm your toes at the kiva fireplace or take a long soak in the jacuzzi tub in the master bath.
Summers are a glorious time in this high mountain town. Days are usually in the 70s and nights are cool. AND, New Mexico's claim of 300 days of sunshine is absolutely true! The house is located on the fifth green of the beautiful Angel Fire Resort Golf Course, the home is a golfer's dream from mid-May through September. It is also only one half mile up the hill from The Olympic Park playground, picnic area, children's fishing hole, and fine tennis courts. Enjoy ATV tours, rafting on the Rio Grande River, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and many other summer and fall activities. Fishing holes abound on the nearby Cimmaron River or at Eagle Nest Lake State Park. Flying fishing lessons and guides are available locally.
Consider a trip on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. This is a great trip for kids of all ages. This 1880s steam train traverses the beautiful mountains of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Your whole family will enjoy a Cowboy Evening at the top of Bobcat Pass between Angel Fire and Red River. The Cowboy Evening features a hay ride, a great chuck wagon dinner, cowboy poetry and storytelling around the camp fire.
It is a short 40 minute drive to the historic city of Taos. Taos is rich in history including the Taos Pueblo, one of the longest continually occupied villages in North America. Noted for its many incredible art galleries, fascinating museums, great shopping and fine dining, you will certainly want to spend some time in Taos.
In summer and fall, deer and elk, humming birds, Rocky Mountain Bluebirds, chipmunks, and rabbits are frequent visitors. Enjoy them all from the front porch or the back deck. Wildflowers are abundant and outside dining is a favorite pastime.

Northern New Mexico is not only beautiful but has a rich history and culture. It is noted for its artists and cultural events. We are in close proximity to New Mexico's finest locations. Taos is a short 40 minute drive and boasts wonderful restaurants, great galleries and shopping, the 1200 year old Taso Pueblo and special festivals and events year round. The village of Red River is nestled in a high mountain valley offering skiing, ATVs, lots of activities for the kids and old time mountain fun at its best. Enjoy a trip on the High Road to Taos, one of many scenic drives in the area or spend a day in Santa Fe, our beautiful state capital, which is a short two hour drive.

Our home has 360 degree views of the beautiful Moreno Valley. Enjoy mornings on the front porch and evenings on the back deck and patio. The Angel Fire Resort golf course is an eighteen hole course, with beautiful views and is a joy for golfers to play. Since we are located on the fifth green of the golf course, you can enjoy watching the golfers from the back deck. We love the wildlife which surrounds us and we are uniquely situated to watch the elk, deer, Rocky Mountain Bluebirds and lots of other wildlife. Some early mornings afford the unique experience of watching young elk playing in the sand trap just out the back door. Our home is beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Although Doug is from Nebraska and Mary from Texas, we have always loved New Mexico. We honeymooned here fifty years ago. We first came to Angel Fire in 1991, bought a condo and enjoyed many wonderful vacations with our family. In 2002 when Doug retired we built our Angel Fire home. We love the beauty and the rich cultural history which surrounds us. Angel Fire is the perfect place for us and we enjoy entertaining friends and family in this beautiful spot.
