Nice Home, Close to Everything, Friendly People, Quiet Beach

This home is very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Quick walk to the beach every morning for beautiful sunrises. Great location and the people in the neighborhood and at the uncrowded beach were so friendly. Owner is very nice and helpful with dining suggestions. Our best meal was at Saltwater Cowboys just minutes from the house but we didn't try it until the day before our last night! We definitely would have returned if we'd had the time. We were very disappointed that the wifi in the home did not work for us. We travel with our computer and missed having access. We had planned on using the pool but it was only 70 degrees when we arrived. After a couple days we did get it warmed up enough to use. We did really like this home and the master bed was really comfy and cozy. Had the wifi worked, it would have been perfect. Be sure to go to the Alligator Farm if visiting the area. It was our favorite of everything we did there, well, next to the Sunrises!

Dragon Flies, Pelicans and very comfy beds!!

From the minute we pulled into the drive to the moment we pulled out we enjoyed this wonderful house. It is lovelier and more spacious than the photos show, and truly minutes from any kind of interests you have. The decor is both beautiful and comfortable. A bed can make or break the perfect vacation, and these beds are so comfortable, you melt into them at the end of a long day of beach, golf, dining, shopping and whatever other fun you have found. We stayed the second week of October, and the weather was perfect. The house is the shortest little walk (6 houses-ish) to the boardwalk over the dunes, just enough to build the sweet anticipation of seeing the ocean. We saw pelicans each day, dragon flies flitting about the sea oats at sunset and relaxed to the waves rolling to shore. We brought our dog, and I was extremely pleased with not only the fenced in yard, but the removable safety fence poolside. We made a rule to only eat at places that we did not have back home. We enjoyed 2 meals at The Wildflower Cafe (recommended by Beach Street Pizza which was really good, with a ranch dressing that you want to buy by the gallon), the courtyard ambiance at Harry's (old St.Aug) along with the She Crab soup and fried grit cakes..should have eaten there more than once, Ned’s Southside Kitchen has some very fresh innovative delights, La Herencia restaurant in old St. Aug (as seen on PBS) delicious and charming. The Royal St Augustine Golf Course and Country Club pretty, challenging and very reasonably priced. Our week flew by leaving us with a list of things to do, places to see and restaurants to dine at on our next trip. We hope to rent Avery's again!

Lovely cottage Perfect location

I stayed at Averys last week, October 2010, with my dog. It is a ten minute walk to the beach through the subdivision. No major roads to worry about. It is only 3 minutes (driving) to the nearest Publix and a shopping center. I liked the location as it is only a 15 minute drive north to get into the heart of St Augustine tourist district. Equally it is only a 15 min drive south to the less crowded Marineland area. There are several drive-able access ramps outside/within minutes of the subdivision, for those who like to drive on the beach. The house and the pool were both immaculate. I greatly appreciate the attention to detail, like the small bars of hand soap in each bathroom. Being a level (not built into a hill) single story house with an attached garage makes it easy, especially for Floridians like myself who bring plenty of beach supplies with them. It was nice to be able to dump my beach gear in the garage when I got back to the house. All the furniture is quite comfortable, especially the master bed is totally luxurious, although a tad high to get into for someone like myself. I'm five feet even. I really liked the view of the pool from both the master and the living room. The weather was nice. High low 80s, low 50s. The beach was wonderful. A pure delight to stay here. I would recommend to my friends and come back again.

Prefect relaxing vacation!

The pictures posted online was what drew me to this house. I sent the owner an e mail inquiring about the house and his response was prompt. We (family of 4 with 2 kids ages 4 and 6) felt right at home the minute we stepped into the beautifully decorated home. It was exactly what we expected with a lot of extras. We drove in from Chicago so it was nice to have a spacious garage to park our minivan and 4 bikes! The kitchen is modern and inviting. We ate in pretty much everyday either in the kitchen/dining area or poolside. There are a lot of restaurants close by if you choose to eat out. We loved having the screened in pool area. The pool is visible from the living room and the master bedroom.My kids loved jumping in the pool first thing in the morning and after a long day at the beach. The house is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfy and so is the leather couch in the living room. There are 3 TVs in the house so everyone can watch their favorite shows or the game or a movie. The property is surrounded by trees and a privacy fence. The beach is a short walk from the house. You can also drive your car on the beach...which is new to us coming from Chicago. The beach access is, again, a short drive from the house. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. The property is close by to many shops and restaurants and Historic St Augustine. There are also places where you can rent items like boogie boards and high chairs and all sorts of stuff you might need. This house was perfect for us. It is kid friendly. It is comfortable and spacious. We had the best time! We were sad to leave but would definitely come back. We would highly recommend this house to friends and relatives!
