Welcome to Ixtapa and our little slice of paradise! The Amara is a privately owned luxury beachfront condominium resort. This luxury 2200 sq .ft. unit provides amazing views and spectacular sunsets, while the calming sound of the ocean waves will sooth you to sleep every night.
The Amara has the best location on the beach, and is just a few steps away from great restaurants, shopping, local markets, grocery stores, movie theatre, and the unique Ixtapa nightlife! The Amara is just 10 minutes away by cab from Zihuatanejo, and only 20 minutes from the airport.
Our unit is located on the 10th floor, is one of only 90 within this quiet, gated complex, with 24 hour security. Being on the 10th floor offers spectacular 180 degree views of the ocean and coastline, with mountain and golf course views out the back.
Tastefully decorated, our unit is finished with the highest quality materials. The main living/dining room area has floor to ceiling glass doors that slide open on to your private balcony. The living room has a 55' plasma TV, Sky cable, blue ray DVD player and X-box gaming system for your enjoyment.
The three master bedrooms (two on the ocean side and one on the mountainside) all have king size beds, TV's and attached ensuites. Bedroom #4 on the mountainside is uniqually equipped with a queen bed, a twin bed and a second lofted twin bed. Although this room is intended for children, it can comfortably sleep 3 adults and one child. Both mountainside bedrooms are outfitted with dual pane windows to reduce the evening noise to ensure you have a comfortable undisturbed sleep. Each bedroom has it's own private bathroom, and all have control of their own air conditioning unit. The owners master bedroom has a 40' LCD TV with Sky cable. The second ocean side bedroom has a 42' LCD TV while the third king bedroom has a 37' LCD TV. All TV's are equiped with an Ipod adaptor cable that allows your Ipod movies to be shown on the TV's. There is also a 5th bedroom off of the kitchen that has bunk beds, perfect for the kids or nanny. This room also has a private bathroom, and is where you will find the full size washer and dryer. In total, the unit sleeps 12 comfortably. All towels and linens are provided, and daily maid service is available on request.
Your kitchen is fully equipped with first class stainless steel appliances - gas oven/range. dishwasher, and double refrigerator w/ filtered water and ice. Additional appliances include: microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender, as well as all the utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc... needed to satisfy the cook in your party. Or just walk across the street to any of the many excellent local restaurants available for your dining pleasure.
The beautifully landscaped grounds include three pools - one huge infinity pool for families, another infinity pool for adults only, and a small wading pool for kids. Guests can enjoy very reasonably priced drinks and snacks at the palapa bar. Walk down just a few steps and through the private gate out to one of the most beautiful beaches you will every see, where private palapas and lounge chairs await you for a relaxing day on the beach.
Other amenities include: paddle ball courts, fitness facility, private parking stalls, and a business centre. Wi-Fi wireless internet service is provided throughout the property.

* Our unit can accomodate a maximum of 9 adults and 3 children. There is an extra nightly charge for groups over 9 guests.
* Please contact us for any large group requirements, as there may be availability to rent the entire 10th floor (sleeps up to 20 people). This is subject to availability in the neighboring unit and pricing will be based on the rental of two units.

After multiple trips to Ixtapa this was our first stay outside of a standard hotel & amenities and I can tell you it would be tough going back to the hotel life. It is a beautiful location and the property, grounds and pools were very well maintained. The weather was fantastic (like always) and the beautiful beach clean and safe. The local restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance, great food at reasonable prices with variety for everyone. We enjoyed a deep sea fishing trip from Zihuatanejo and took a fantastic tour of the LaChole ruins, Le Barra de Potosi and the El Refugio with a local tour guide. Jason was great to work with and made the process very easy (even for a first time renter).Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The time we spent in this unit was amazing! Very friendly for all ages from tiny kids to adults. This unit is amazing with view of the town of ixtapa and looking out at the beach. Being able to take in the breathtaking sunset every night tops it all off. The space is truly amazing and everyone who goes to ixtapa should stay in amara and this unit is a perfect fit. What you see (on-line) is exactly what you get! A well appointed luxury condo overlooking impeccably maintained grounds and pools with a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. The staff at the complex are all very friendly and helpful. Our group was 3 couples; the condo had plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy each other's company as well as comfortable bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. We had a woman come in and cook for us on two occasions. It was like being in your own private restaurant with the comforts of home. Prior to our trip, Jason provided us with information on getting a taxi at the airport, instructions for the electronic lock (this was great - no keys to worry about!), the condo's locker and things to do and see in the area. The condo is situated across the street from shopping, restaurants, markets and groceries - everything within easy walking distance. We hope to have the opportunity to stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Nuestras vacaciones en Ixtapa estuvieron increibles, todos la pasamos muy bien desde Los abuelos hasta Los ninos de 3 anos. El condominio esta muy bien ubicado frente a la playa con acceso directo al mar y muy cerca del centro comercial, ideal para sailr por un helado, comprar un souvenir o simplemente caminar. El departamento esta muy buen cuidado y equipado, y ademas tiene una vista muy Bonita; desde la terraza podiamos ver los espectaculares atardeceres y los juegos artificiales que lanzaban los hoteles en ano nuevo. Realmente es un desarrollo muy bien organizado que cuenta con servicio de alimentos y bebidas a bajo costo en la palapa de la alberca. Disfrutamos muchisimo nuestas vacaciones y quedamos invitados a regresar pronto.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We came to Ixtapa to celebrate my Husband's 50th Birthday and didn't want to leave! Our party included eight adults and two children. There was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy privacy, but we also had plenty of space to gather for dinner, games, or just sitting on the deck enjoying the perfect view of the beach. The condo was clean, quiet and the entire property inside and out had the same inviting and relaxing feel about it. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom which is great if you're traveling with a large party. This unit also had a storage space filled with every pool/beach toy imaginable, so don't bother packing or purchasing any of these items when they are already provided and in great condition. Take advantage of the boogie boards on the beach, you will not regret it since the water is warm and the surf is great. Our routine included nightly walks to the gelatto stand next to the small grocery store across the street. Once you are off the grounds just head to the right and look for the silver chairs in front of the gelatto stand and treat yourself to some of the best dessert in town. Please do not hesitate to have Mario drive you anywhere you need to go. He keeps his taxi right in front of the gate, and I would recommend you travel with him. We basically hired him for the week and was well worth the money we spent. He is friendly, knows alot of great places to eat, and beaches to explore that aren't packed with tourists. Mario was one of the highlights of our trip, and if you get to know him, you'll feel the same way too! Overall this property was more than we could have imagined.The owner Jason was very easy to work with, in addition to our contact person Claudia who welcomed us in Ixtapa and was very helpful throughout our stay. We are already planning our return trip with another stay at this gorgeous property!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking to spend a week or two is what is surely one of the most beautiful places, go to Amara in Ixtapa. The Condo was very clean, quiet and has all the comforts of home, but in paradise. Very close to shopping, some great restaurants and located on one of the best beaches you could hope for. The information package we received answered all our questions and made our stay feel like we had been there many times before. Some of the attractions that were recommended to us that we would recommend is going to Ixtapa Island, para-sailing, jet skiing, fishing and a lot of great local markets with products from small hand made Mexican trinkets to world famous clothing stores. I would recommend this property to family and friends. Whether travelling with children or a romantic get-away Amara in Ixtapa has it all. We couldn't have been happier, Ixtapa itself is beautiful (and safe), the view from the condo is amazing. Jason was very helpful with all his tips for the area. The staff was very helpful, the amenities were great and clean. Amazing beach, the best I've seen in Mexico. Jason's property manager Claudia is excellent, a quick email and you can have a cook arranged to come in and cook anything you like, or you can have a chiropractor or a masseuse come right to the condo! The condo itself is luxurious and easily accommodated the 4 couples in our group. I've been talking it up to my friends and I think several of them will be looking into it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

A group of 8 old friends rented this unit for a week. The 4 bedrooms accommodated us nicely. We were very happy with the 10th floor view of the ocean and the great location basically in the middle of the main drag through Ixtpa. It's a nice walk to either end of the beautiful beach. Great places to eat are an easy walk away as well. The condo is also a very comfortable place to relax when you need a break from the sun. We're going back when we have the chance!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in the condo from Feb 18 - 25. There were 2 families including 4 teenage girls. It was absolutely beautiful. The major bonuses were the 4 bathrooms, amazing view from the patio, cleanliness of entire property and proximety to restaurants, grocery, etc. The beach was great for walking each morning. About the owner: I own my own business in Calgary Canada. My family and I love to come to our home in Ixtapa and we visit here often. We enjoy sharing our home with family and friends.
Why the Owner Chose Ixtapa:
We chose Ixtapa for the weather (a very consistant 30+ degrees year round!) and we chose Amara because of the individual unit sizes and its location in Ixtapa. You can't beat Amara's location - directly off the main area of downtown Ixtapa and in the middle of Ixtapa beach.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We travel with our 3 children and we have found it very difficult to find accomodations that suit our lifestyle and provide us with enough individual space to truly relax. We like the comforts of home and what better way to have them when you travel then to have your own place. We equipe and treat our unit like our home, not just as a rental. We like the conveniences that TV and WiFi bring and I love to send my business associates views from my 'office' when i'm working remotely from the balcony in Ixtapa!
