We arrived at Ofer's sweet studio after discovering en route that we had left our passports in a small village in south-west France. Coming from Australia with 2 small sons, Paris was our last stop before heading home and we were slightly panicked about getting our passports back. Thankfully Ofer employs Paris's most genial building manager. Caroline has great English, an unflappable nature and the smarts to deal with crazed tourists. She got our passports back singlehandedly within 3 days and delivered them to us at the apartment for no fee! Note: if this happens to you, there are 2 or 3 brilliant chocolate shops downstairs from which to purchase a 'thank you' gift. Stay here, you'll love it. Nearest metro is Place Monge. Walk beyond the metro station to reach the worl'd oldest zoo and the skeleton-laden Museum of Natural History.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful and charming. The area is very safe and the apartment was extremely comfortable and welcoming after a long day of sight-seeing in Paris. Owner provided detail on area and apartment, very much appreciated. Would definitely consider returning to this apartment if our travels bring us back to Paris! Thank you!

Stayed at the apartment for four days in February with my husband and two of our children (17, 13) and it was perfect! Loved the location...Rue Mouffetard offers everything right outside your door...we walked all over Paris but the metro is close and there are bikes right down the street. The apartment is clean and well stocked. Weekend nights can get a little boisterous in the street but nothing too bad. Would definitely return.

We (a couple with 2 daughters: a teenager and a pre-teen) stayed at the studio for the first week of January 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything went very smoothly from completing the reservation process to check-out. The studio is full of charm and while compact it has all the amenities one could ask for and more (we made full use of the helpful information binder and all those guidebooks and maps on the shelf). The entry hallway and staircase that leads up to the studio take you back in time with an old world charm of their own (I think I took more photos of the stairwell than the Notre Dame) and once you enter the studio you are transported into an invitingly modern, clean, light and cozy space. After long and cold days spent mostly on our feet, we looked forward to coming back to the warmth of the studio. And the location speaks for itself. We will definitely come back.

First of all, the landlord is very hospitable and very welcoming. This made for a very first good impression. The minimum technical problem I had when connecting to the wifi, he and her appt manager stepped in and got it fixed. Second, the appt is very well furnished and equpped. Needless to say, this wonderful and spacious and glamorous studio is what you see in the pictures and even more. I strongly recommend this appt to anyone who loves Paris, who wants to stay at the heart of the Latin Quarter, and top of that, someone who enjoys life to the fullest. You will never forget this experience.

We would like to echo all the positive comments in other reviews. The pictures of the apartment are accurate but no picture can show the spacious, charming and immaculate interior. The bed was very comfortable and all the appliances were new and of top quality. It was great fun using both the washing machine and dishwasher with French dials and found the owner "English" very useful. It was terrific being able to unpack and there were more than enough drawers and hangers. Although we did find getting a suitcase up the well used stairways a bit challenging,it only enhanced the experience of living in a historic building. The location on a market street with many restaurants was wonderful. We had never been to Paris before and could not believe that we had found such a great apartment on a special street. We found several restaurants within a few doors that became favorites.. Il Crete and La Grange. It was great to walk to many sites and with the Metro a block away even Versaille was within easy reach. There was indeed some street noise but even without reading the owner's comments we closed the front windows and opened the kitchen window and had all the fresh air we wanted and minimal noise. While enjoying many amenities it was possible to imagine Hemmingway, Fitzgerald and other "American transplants" working in Paris.

My girlfriends and I looked for ages at apartments and thank goodness we found this one! I can't say better things about it. The location is perfect. I used to live in the 5th and this is my favorite area of Paris; just wonderful. The apartment is adorable on a great street. Many shops, restaurants and more around. The metro is very close. The apartment was bigger than the bigger showed. We were pleasantly surprised. The furniture, decor and everything else were lovely. The 2 large beds are very comfortable, nice big windows with lots of light, a very clean and efficient kitchen and bathroom. I can't really say my favorite part as I enjoyed it all! We were met on time and given an excellent introduction. Ofer, the owner, could not have been more kind and helpful. I really appreciated all he did. I am a flight attendant and all my coworkers recommend vrbo and this was my first time, so I am thankful to Ofer for making it such a delightful experience. One person in reviews wrote they did not like the hallway. Yes, it is small and a windy staircase but I think it would be hard-pressed to find an apartment in Paris that is any different. It's completely fine. A lovely location, building, apartment and very helpful owner. We stayed 9 nights so definitely had enough time to note that it was a great place. Nothing but rave reviews here :) Thank you Ofer!!

We spent a week in the apartment - really liked it and will definitely stay there again. There were four of us - husband, wife, and two teenage kids - there was enough room for everybody. There are two queen size beds (yes, the kids slept together in one bed - worked out just fine). The location is perfect - a short walk to the metro station and only a few short stops to Paris "center". The owner is a pleasure to do business with - prompt, friendly, and informative. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you

Owner response: Thanks Oliver! : ) just one small comment, the beds are actually King size, albeit European "King Size":75x79 inch, only slightly smaller (one inch in fact) than the American 76x80 inch. Cheers, Ofer

This apartment is newly updated in an old world setting. Rue Mouffetard is extremely charming with lots of shops for groceries and souvenirs. There are also many restaurants nearby. The street can be very noisy, but we found that most of the sound was blocked as soon as we closed the windows. There is no air conditioning, so just be warned in case you want to go back to the apartment during the day to cool off. There are fans, so the nights were okay. The metro was extremely convenient and takes you anywhere in Paris that you want to go. I agree that the entrance can use some work (it's probably original from the 1800's!), but that is part of the experience. There is no elevator, so it can be difficult to get heavy luggage upstairs. Daily walking up and down was no problem. though. The loft worked well for our 2 teenage girls, but it's quite shallow and you can't sit up in bed. The rest of the apartment was roomy and very well maintained. The owner was very responsive to all questions and provided lots of information for tourists.

We recently stayed at this apartment in July for 5 days with my husband , teen daughter, and 75 year old mother. Having traveled many times before and loving adventure we were very excited by the thought of having this flat in an area of Paris we enjoy. We are well aware of small spaces and many stairs but were extremely disillusioned by the foul dank dusty smell throughout the hallway and crumbling stairway. Our first impression was one of immediate regret. The street below is very busy with many bars that stay open very late. Our first night was spent wide awake until the noise from the street subsided near 6 am. Even with windows shut and purchased earplugs the noise was unbearable. It left us feeling vacant for our days in Paris. There is not a full kitchen and there were few supplies . We purchased basic materials . Our manager left her two full bags of laundry in the tiny space for our luggage with the promise she would take it away the next day. She never did. Paris is magical and it would take much to ruin the experience but staying at this location did not help. If we had the chance and budget we would have changed lodgings. I find it very difficult to believe the other favorable reviews.

                    Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

Owner response: We are sorry that the experience of this guest was so different from that of the absolute majority of our guests. In fact, we were quite surprised to read about this a few weeks after the end of the stay, not having received any complaints during the guest's stay, and would like to address the points raised: 1. The hallway is about 10 meters - 11 yards long. There are lights and light switches all along and it is the only part of the common area that does not have a window. As soon as you reach staircase, there are large windows facing the courtyard, it is airy and plenty of natural daylight. 2. The staircase paint needs work and it is planned for this year. However, it is just three flights of stairs, airy and lit. The flat itself as you can see from the photos is completely renovated. 3. The Studio being on the 3rd floor is well removed from the street buzz. In addition we recently invested in two state-of-the-art double glazed windows that when properly shut, keep all the street noise blocked away - see three review down below by Karen. Also there is still a good size window at the other end of the Studio, courtyard facing, that can stay open all night keeping fresh air coming in. I use my flat regularly with my twin 5 year old twin girls, they are very light sleepers and never had an issue since the new windows have been installed. 4. The Kitchenware supplies have been running out. We took this comment to our attention and replenished and replaced all. 5. There is PLENTY of storage space in the apartment, more than can be found in most Paris apartments which try to use every single inch for living space. We did not spare and put a built-in wardrobe with plenty of drawers, shelves and hanger space (see photos). There is even space for suitcases next to the Mezzanine where you can store them completely out of the way. 6. Last but not least: ALL of our reviews are absolutely genuine. We ask our travellers to submit their opinions – whichever that may be. we dont even use the -Submitted by Owner- option from VRBO. If in doubt, please pick any review randomly and I will do my best to put you in-touch with the reviewer who will assure you this flat is ALL what it appears and more! Ofer
