Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
Formally an electrician, then a Realtor, now a real estate brokerage owner and Lodge Owner. I love to fish, swim, travel and snowmobile. I grew up in a suburb just west of Minneapolis called Chanhassen. I have lived in Alaska for almost 20 years after graduating from College. My family goes to a Christian Church and we are followers of Christ, but we do not push our beliefs on anybody.
Why the Owner Chose Sterling
I had this property listed when I was a realtor and the seller one day asked me why it was not selling, I told him that the price is usually the #1 reason and he wondered why there were not even any offers as low as $50K under what they were asking, and I opened my big and told him I would pay that for it and he came over shock my hand before I knew what happened. Then I needed to figure out how I was going to pay for the place as a second home and I came to the conclusion that if I rented it out to travelers, maybe I could have enough to make the mortgage payment each month.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The large logs truly offer a sense of relaxation and comfort unlike anything I have ever experienced. (Extremely Peaceful) The local fishing in June, July and August is amazing in the World Famous Kenai River. Just being there anytime of the year helps to remove your stress and enjoy peace and quiet in luxury in comfortable beds and a pool table for entertainment.
