Relax and enjoy a very comfortable floor plan. Enter this home on the ground floor, with a family room and a master bedroom/bath suite. Both rooms have direct access to the lower lanai and grassy backyard.
The master suite features a double shower and walk in closet. Up the staircase is the open concept living room, dining room and kitchen, which lead out to the screened in lanai. Another master suite is located up stairs, with a walk in shower and closet as well. The third bedroom, also located on the second floor, is the kid's bunk room. We had one our best trips to Kauai staying in Makai Hale. Beautiful home, hardwood floors. Two great master suites. The kitchen is stocked with everything to make a gourmet meal. Love the upstairs great room. The home is nicely decorated. Love all the windows to allow the refreshing trade winds to blow through. The kids room has it's owe bath and is has two sets of bunk beds. One of the best things is the location. Located on a nice quiet cul de sac. I felt safe letting my daughter ride bikes around the cul de sac. Five minute walk to the beach pavilion on hanalei bay. Easy walk or bike ride into town for dinner or shopping. I looked at many homes to rent for our trip, and I am so happy we book Makai Hale. Already booked for 2014. A 2 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to town, you can't beat it! The house is at the end of a cul de sac so the kids could play safely and the street was so quiet. The house was layed out perfectly for two families with small children. Our favorite part with the deck with the full bug screen, allows you to enjoy the outdoors without being eaten by mosquitos. LOVED this house, we will tell all our friends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our tropical vacation here! The home is spacious, clean, comfortable and quite luxurious. The home has been newly renovated with a gorgeous kitchen, screened outdoor lanai, and beautiful bedrooms. We came as two families which worked very well because everyone had enough space! The master bedroom is as nice a fancy hotel with a swanky large double shower-- we truly felt like we were on a luxury vacation and not at "someone's" house. Not too mention, that the house is 2 blocks to Hanalei Bay Beach which is the great beach for little kids and beginner surfers!! They even have a pack-n-play, high chair, boogie boards and small beach toys for the kids. We could not have asked for better accommodations!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Perfect family house in the middle of town. Walk to the beach or or into town to eat. The house is clean, roomy and well equipped. We cooked a great Thanksgiving dinner during our stay. Surfing, hiking, sight seeing on the North shore is very closeRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our stay was very relaxing. The house is in a perfect location; close to the beach and easy walk into town. Afternoon breezes flowed through the living room making reading, napping, cooking or whatever enjoyable. The kitchen is great for making dinner and serving drinks. Upstairs and downstairs rooms and bathrooms are wells designed. Upstairs lanai, downstairs deck, outside shower, garage, bbq, beach chairs - everything was perfect. Definitely recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Hanalei and your home was part of the reason why. It is beautifully decorated to give you the island feel and had all the amenities of "home." The teenagers stayed upstairs and my boyfriend and I were downstairs enjoying the privacy and serenity of the lanai which had beautiful views of the mountains. We were able to unwind, relax and enjoy the pace of life on the island while staying in one of the best houses on Kauai. We had an awesome, fun filled 8 dyas at Makai Hale. Celebrating my 50th birthday with our Seattle friends. Close to beach and downtown Hanalei. Beautiful, comfortable house, well stocked and room enough for 2 families. Bedrooms spacious. Cannot wait to come back some day!!!
