BREAKING NEWS: DUKE'S BEACH HOUSE will be the onsite beachfront restuarant at Honua Kai with a scheduled opening on December 15, 2009. The remaining pools will open around the same time if not sooner.(Look at Picture 3 I just took it 11/17/09.) The Spa will open some time late summer 2010, but the fintess center will be open. If you want current and accurate information on the Resort and our unit please contact us.

IT MATTERS WHO YOU RENT FROM AT THIS RESORT! We are fortunate to "Live Aloha" everyday and our goal is for our guests to "Live Aloha"while they are our guests. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special. Here's how we do that:

1) Check-in: We greet you upon your arrival at the Resort and personally check you into your suite. We show you where things are located within the Resort and also escort you to your room. In addition, we're there to show you where to register your car and where to park.(We don't have you pick up a key and then fend for yourself.(The front desk here does not check in VRBO guests.)

2) Service: We present each guest with a Welcome Aloha Package which includes a box of Hawaiian chocolates, a bag of 100% Maui Grown Coffee, soaps, shampoo and a bottle of champagne.

We also provide beach chairs and towels, boogie boards (good ones, not those styrofoam ones), binoculars to watch the whales, free local and long distance calls to the Mainland, free wi-fi internet and the cleanest room at the Resort.

We are at the Resort all the time and live only 5 minutes up the street, so if anything should require our attention we are quick to respond. For example, if your key card get demagnitized (which it does more then we'd all like) the front desk/security will not issue you a key. You have to call your management company who will then call someone to come down and have a new key issued. Another example is another management company (look up Honua Kai at tripadvisor)took 4
days to replace a light bulb in one of the studio's they manage.

3) Location This is the highest floor available for a studio on vrbo that you can rent direct from an owner. Our unit looks over the palm trees not thru them. Our Studio is 595 sf and located in the inner courtyard.With us you rent unit 719, you don't rent a category and find out what you get when you arrive at the front desk. With us you get actual pictures of the unit
and the actual view from the unit. We don't zoom in with our photos.

Please compare to 1 bedroom units, there is only one stack of 1 bedroom units.(700 sf)in the inner courtyard in either building.

4) Price: We offer the most competitive price. Some units may be a little less expensive, but you will not have the location or the view.

Other things to consider:

-25% TO 50% OFF RESORT MANAGEMENT RATES and all the SERVICE you'll need for a great getaway.
-No worrying about when when the maid service is going to interupt your day.
-We personally clean our unit and you know, nobody cleans your home like you do.
-Use of swimming pool, excercise room, concierge service, bell and valet service and
activities desk.
-The Staff at Honua Kai will treat you like your sitting in the first class cabin.
-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.
-For those guests who have stayed in other Maui condo's, you'll say to yourself "The condos
in Maui are so old that I forgot what brand new feels like. It's as nice on the inside as it
is on the outside". We want you happy and we want you back!


HONUA KAI- "Honua" is translated from Hawaiian as the planet earth; it can also denote firm, stable ground."Kai" is the South Pacific Ocean as seen from the shores of Kaanapali disappearing beyond the horizon, past Molokai and Lanai, and into what ancient Hawaiians called the "Great Sea of Eternity"

-Tile flooring in entry way, kitchen and bathroom.

We use a mainland phone number for convenience. We will also help with your luggage if you'd like, but the bellmen are all real good guys and more interested in showing "Aloha" then caring who you are renting from.

We will accomodate early check-in or late check out when the schedule allows. We understand that many flights arrive late morning and that many flights depart late at night. We were regulars on that red eye to San Francisco.

We're originally from San Ramon, CA and we have 3 children. Moved to Maui because the plane ride home was too depressing.

Why the Owner Chose Honua Kai

Brand New, Luxury Resort on Kaanapali Beach. This was the first whole ownership condominium on Kaanapali Beach in 25 years. The other condo complexes are nice, but they are showing their years. It was not a hard decision.

The Unique Benefits of this Condominium

We do everything ourselves from this website to cleaning the room. We take your stay personally and when we check you into our suite, you'll feel the difference and know that we will personally handle any issues that may arise.

    • My two friends and I stayed in this lovely condo and we thought we had died and gone to heaven. That is how gorgeous this place was. We never dreamt it would be this fantastic.
