TRANSPORTATION:
No car is necessary for two great reasons. #1 - you're right in the core so it's ski-in and ski-out. #2 the FREE gondola takes you into Telluride from 7:00 am until midnight, every day. No need to call the dial-a-ride service and wait to be taken to the village core and the gondola because you're always right there. A heated, private garage is included but once you're here, you won't get back in your car until you're ready to leave.

This home is adjacent to the Main Gondola in the Village Core. It is not next to the Parking Lot Gondola. This important feature means you never have to wait in line or call dial-a-ride to get to the lifts. Don't be fooled by the plethora of condos that advertise themselves as 'right next to the parking lot gondola'. Those are terribly inconvenient because that gondola has a line every morning and every afternoon that can be as long as 40 mins to get to the lift ticket office, ski school or just to go into the charming town of Telluride at night!

Keywords: Special home in the Core with Ski-in, ski-out, private ski valet. Discount pricing now through December! Laundry room, crystal room, fireplace, large dining table seats 10.

We were greeted upon our arrival and were shown our home for a week in Mountain Village. The vacation home was comfortable in most every way. It is within easy walking distance of the Village center and the free gondola. This home is a stand alone structure without any adjoining neighbors or common walls. There are several half-flights of stairs up to he front door. They were not a problem for either of us. The master bedroom and bed were very comfortable. There were only two of us, it was the only bedroom we used. The adjoining deck with hot tub was used almost every night. Watched the orion meteor shower from the comfort of the tub. The flat screen tv worked well. The master bath was roomy. Be patient waiting for hot water. It'll come soon enough. The fireplace was good. I'm used to a WBFP, but the gas logs provided a good ambience and warming radiant heat without the bother of wood and mess. HINT, the gas log switch is about knee high on the right side. Turn it ON and then fan or blow into the fireplace for a soft gas ignition; else gas will accumulate for 10 seconds or more and then ignite with a nice boom. Parking is not a problem. The enclosed and lockable garage is at street level only about 50 feet from the front door. Our Nissan Titan truck did fit, so any full size car or SUV should, too. We didn't use it, but there is a great laundry with two washers and dryers in the lower level and a box of soap / bleach there. The WiFi worked flawlessly and was high speed. Easy to enter the password and use ith our iPhones, iPad, and notebooks we were well connected. We never did figure out all of the lighting. There are wall switches in unusual places and lighting fort which we NEVER found the switches. It would help is a diagram for the big room, kitchen, and stairway lighting was available, along with labels on the switches. Working the front door combination in the dark was difficult, we couldn't find the switch for the front porch light. Our overall rating of Excellent was based on our 7-night stay. We took advantage of the special off-season price and will probably do so again in the future. Our first Telluride/Mountain Village vacation was very enjoyable. Having nice and comfortable accommodations made the week that much better.

We ignored the overly-critical reviews and stayed at this unique and beautiful home over the 2011 Thanksgiving Holiday. I am astounded at the rude and uppity attitude of previous guests. If you are looking for complete perfection, good luck. I think it uncalled for to tell people to “stay away” – think if this was your property and source of income! As a frequent traveler, renter and owner of mountain property (near Beaver Creek, CO), I am reviewing this property with many perspective in mind. Our stay was magnificent and the location is ideal. Yes, there are stairs as there are all over Telluride. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and found the kitchen well stocked and a joy to cook and serve at a huge table. We skied and the dial-a-ride service dropped us off right at the garage door. There is a nice spa, great bedding, wonderful windows, and original artwork throughout the home. The extra touches of being greeted at the unit and spa products in every bath were great personalized elements. Any support or dining suggestions was simply a phone call away. If you’re looking for a great location with first class service in a comfortable and large home (this is not a condo), please look past the negativity and book this property.

My wife and I have been spending a good part of the summers in Colorado for the past 18 years. Our stay here last summer was the most enjoyable to date. The condo is very roomy (more like a house), very comfortable, quiet and private. It is convenient and within walking distance to the village center, the gondola and market. Great location...we used our car only twice for the entire month! The condo also has its own private garage which was great for storing our bikes as well. We loved it so much that we are returning for another month's stay next summer.

Rented this condo last winter on an annual week ski trip--only time in many years we have been extremely disappointed by where we have stayed We found a massive discrepancy between what was presented online and what in fact our experience was. Picture I had from the online listing was an upscale condo in meticulous condition that would work perfectly for getting home from the slopes to relax. Our experience did not match this on many levels. Specific examples: Door to the dishwasher was falling off and was a major pain to load and use. Cooked our dinner in the stove for an hour and a half to open it and find out it had not turned on, though we had used the dials properly--kitchen is described as a full chef's kitchen--this is a ridiculous claim given the state of this kitchen. BBQ on the balcony was filthy, we did a massive clean up on it before we would use it, I would rate its functionality at a 3 out of 10. The downstairs was simply not a place you would spend any time--the fire place somehow allowed cold air in and this area was simply freezing--we are from northern Canada, so if this was a simple fireplace fix we would have figured it out, this was a dysfunctional fire place that made the downstairs uncomfortable enough that it may as well not have been part of the condo. In general: Herein lies the difference between the places we have rented over many years verses this condo--the general feel. This condo simply felt unloved and unlived in by anyone who truly cared for the place Things that were in a state of disrepair had not been tended to, and over all this culminated in a general feeling of extreme disappointment at the enormous discrepancy between the image reading about this condo in online ads creates verses the reality of what it feels like to stay here. Lesson learned. We will never again rent what is described as a high-end property without due diligence--each of the people I was with agreed this was an extreme disappointment, and fell far short of meeting the expectations we had from how it was described. I took a few minutes to read over other reviews, and find it interesting to note the owner's responses meticulously taking apart each negative review, insinuating the people writing them do not know what they are talking about. Bottom line--I do know what I am talking about, this is a clear description of my experience renting this condo, and I am taking the time to forewarn you--move on and find a different property.

Owner response: Dear future renters, The guest stayed a year ago and just now wrote this review, so in all fairness, the 3 items he addressed have all been fixed a long time ago. The dishwasher had a fancy matching cabinet door that a prior tenant mishandled and we did try to fix but we could not get strong enough springs, so we just replaced the entire dishwasher with a new, stainless steel one. 2. He said that it's not a professional kitchen and described cleaning our seasoned, Weber grill and that he claims to have not figured out how to use the oven to justify this perspective. Personally, I prefer seasoned grills but we do clean it after every tenant now. Like I said, this was a year ago and we've changed this policy a long time ago. And 3, he complained that the gas fireplace on the lower level was not a place to hang out because it was a non-working fireplace and there was nothing else in the room, ie, no furniture. Fyi, the vrbo listing clearly stated that the fireplace was a non-functional fireplace. Anyway, we've put a new, flat-screen tv in that room with upholstered chairs, a futon couch and beautiful artwork. Now you can send the kids or husbands down to watch tv and I promise you won't feel cold. The room still has two glass walls and a glass ceiling (you can see the stars) but the room definitely feels warmer now. The oven is functional with functional controls. I'm sure he figured it out (or ate a cold meal.) Dear reader, we are constantly improving our properties, by example we just added a new, 7 man hot tub off of one of the private decks... new, super high speed secure internet with wi-fi... and a brand new high output boiler along with a 120 gallon hot water tank so if you overflow the hot tub with 9 of you getting in at once, you refill it from a hot water hose right next to the hot tub. Waiting 11 months to complain about our grill and a dishwasher door and claim that the entire experience was worth one star is cruel and it doesn't make sense. He did not complain about the the furnishings, the bathrooms with heated floors, the private garage with additional parking, the personal, ski valet, the personal concierge that meets him and assists with his needs, the discounted lift tickets we got for him, the spa products, the functional, upstairs fireplace, the beds, the comfort or anything to substantiate a 1-star rating.

Our stay in this condo exceeded all expectations. Plenty of space for my family to enjoy. There was free secure internet access and the rooms were clean and quiet. We loved the kitchen too. Everything is within walking distance, free transportation is available if needed. The scenery is not just a visual, it's right outside the door. Dining and shopping were all close by or a quick ride on the Gondola takes you to the other side of the mountain. We came here to snowboard and really fell for the place. We'll be staying here again next year.

Positives were good location to the mountain village, and access to the Peaks concierge. Drawbacks were many: On check-in we discovered that the dishwasher door was missing springs and had to be propped up with pans to load and unload. The downstairs fireplace was borken and a blanket was covering it to prevent cold air from blowing in-despite that cold air continued to blow in and duct tape was eventually placed across the fireplace opening. The wifi was essentially useless, with very poor signal making any effective internet use nil. The first night we discovered that the heating pipes made a very annoying continuous beatlike banging on the master bedroom ceiling (upstairs bedroom floor) which made sleep virtually impossible. Was told try to get used to it like "living next to railroad tracks". 3 days later the plumber attempted to fix to no avail, so we moved into the other downstairs bedroom and let one of the kids sleep in the master. Then the heat would shut off on its own, when complained, discovered this was a known issue and were told to turn the electrical off to the heater from the main circuit breaker for 3 minutes, and turn back on- this worked but about every 6 hours the heat would shut down again. When we complained about the noise and the heat again, they offered us their 2 bedroom place in Lulu city and since it was a downgrade, credit to buy something from their store- uh...no thanks. Bedroom closets and drawers were full of owner personal items and clothes, limiting our ability to put away clothes- that was pretty weird. Kitchen was poorly stocked, no roasting pan or collander. No blowdryers. When we asked for one, they sent one over that when plugged in, did not work at all- gave up and didn't try to ask for another one. At least 6 of the lamps and lights had burned our bulbs or were misssing bulbs- they did bring over a bag of new ones for us to put in. Overall, disappointing for the expense.

Owner response: We arrive at least an hour before the guests arrive and turn ON the fireplace, all the lights, and check the items list to make sure all is indeed, ready for their arrival. Everything was in order. When the guests arrived we brought in their luggage, gave them an overview including pointing out that the dishwasher door didn't spring back properly and that new springs had been ordered and would be installed in the next day or so, but they told us "don't bother". We took them to the ski valet and showed them where their boots and skis would be kept warm and waiting for them in the morning......The condo has a decorative, downstairs fireplace that we keep a beautiful, wool cover on it. We can't say why they removed the beautiful cover......The internet was perfect in every way. Too bad they didn't let us know that they didn't know how to logon. Maybe they didn't have our telephone number? It's high-speed ethernet and wireless.....In-floor heat expands and you'll sometimes hear "tapping pipes". This occurs for about 20 -30 seconds. Because of the general silence in this location where there is zero road noise and zero aircraft noise, they probably have never noticed tapping pipes before. We offered to put them in a larger, nicer condo at no charge but they refused. Regarding light bulbs; the interesting thing is we use only 20,000 hour krypton xenon bulbs or 10,000 hour compact florescents throughout and we checked them BEFORE they arrived. They called to say that bulbs were "out". When we showed up with six new krypton/xenon bulbs they said that they would put them in. We knew they stole the bulbs because they weren't there when we came back ...The kitchen has at least two, complete sets of dishes, at least 4 roasting pans, two large silver sets, plenty of serving pieces, lots and lots of commercial grade pots/pans/casserole dishes, sautee dishes, sauce pans. Egads, Batman. There is even a collander. We're so disappointed when we get a poor review, especially since our condos are the best for the money in Telluride. Period. We just don't understand how people say the mean-spirited things that they say. They arrived cranky and abusive. They stole our hairdryers, spa products (these are 32 oz mounted!) and expensive light bulbs. If we didn't have our artwork listed on artloss (original impressionists from the 20th century) I'm sure they would have lifted that, too.

This review is intended to contain the positive, some clarifications and a few opportunities for improvement by the owner. Reviews that are only positive are suspect in my opinion, Pros: 1) it is near the Peaks and the ski valet service there is outstanding 2) It is spacious as described 3) The owners and rep live in town and offered assistance with non condo information as described. Deane was very helpful with the coupons and restaurant advice 4) the ski coupons worked very well 5) the walk to the gondola is as described Clarifications: 1) It is 133 steps to the Peaks ,as in stairs, as in approx 10 flights, it is 908 linear feet to the pool as the crow flies 2) The access to the Peaks pool/ hot tubs is not included, costs between 20 and 40 per person per day. It is nice once you pay the price. Issues: 1) There was no WiFi. The owner stated that he shares it with a nearby condo and it can be accessed by sitting in the den. There were 17 different networks nearby and most unsecured. Either way the network would have been open for all to see, the best signal was obtained by going outside the unit. I would not think you would want to conduct business or banking in this situation 2) For a unit with the capacity to sleep 10, there was sparse furnishings, living room seats 4, the coffee maker makes one cup and the master bedroom closet was full of someones summer clothes. 3) The unit is tired and needs attention to things like cabinet doors, broken dishwasher and jacuzzi tub pipes filled with leaves. Hopefully these are smaller items that the owner will address

Owner response: We do have wi-fi in each of our condos and instructions were on the renter's rental agreement. I offered to go over to the condo immediately and show him how to logon but he insisted that I not bother..... that he would figure it out. He said he was leaving to go to dinner and I said if he had problems later, to let me know. I heard nothing from him so I assumed he logged on and there was no problem after that. I certainly would have been there within an hour, anytime there was a problem. If Jacuzzi's jets are not turned on regularly, then the water that remains in the jet-lines can get ugly. This has been alleviated in newer models that actually drain the jet-lines when they are turned OFF. We've instructed our housekeeper to begin running the jets when she fills the jacuzzi and to bleach the lines, as well. If the jacuzzi is used regularly, then this problem never comes up but we didn't know it. Our new policy will alleviate the problem from occurring again, no matter what the utilization. The coffee maker that the customer pointed out is an espresso maker. There was a 10 cup coffee maker under the cabinet. We moved it on top of the cabinet after we received this review. The dishwasher door was repaired with titanium springs after this review, as well. Thanks for pointing out these short-comings. We appreciate it so that we can make a better experience for the next guest. Staying at the Peaks Hotel is easily 2-3x the price and not everyone uses the fitness center. However, everyone uses the ski valet, so to save money for our guests we lowered the price significantly and instead give you 50% discount for use of the fitness center. We think it's a better deal for everyone and he knew this as it was in his agreement. He knew it wasn't free but 50% discount of of the public rate. Therefore, he is correct in stating that he had to pay between 20 and 40 ( ie 22.50!) The condo is on a mountain and everyone walks up or down to get anywhere. There isn't a condo up here that doesn't have stairs. I wish it wasn't so. Even my 86 year old father who swims 2x/day knows this and so he won't even come anymore. The altitude with the stairs is too hard for him. The customer did note that we were attentive, that we secured discount lift tickets for him and that the condo was as described. I think the altitude together with the stairs made him a little cranky for some reason. It happens to people here who aren't used to lots of stairs.

We loved staying with you. It was more like a house, though. You should let people know that they are staying in a house which is way better than a normal condo. The ski valet was so convenient that we'll be back next year to stay with you. Thank you, Peter! We've stayed at the Peaks before but this was much better. Larger and we had privacy that we never got at the Peaks. But, we got all the amenities of the Peaks so we were delighted to know you were affiliated with them and could use the ski/boot valet and the apres ski. We'll call you guys first on our next visit. Thank you, thank you! Latina and Jim

We were greeted by the representatives of the owners and everything was better than we expected. I think it's the only house that is walking distance to the plaza, which was important for us because we like going into town at night for dinner. (Our friends staying on Benchmark had to call dial-a-ride which took over an hour to meet us because of the wait. After that, they just stayed in their house.) We just left the house on foot and in less than 5 min we were on the gondola to Allreds and into town without ever having to wait for dial-a-ride or lines at the parking lot gondola. We just loved the views and skiing in Telluride was like skiing in a private ski resort. No crowds. No lines. The kids were truly emancipated and we would just meet them at the end of the day and they were already swimming! Thanks to long time locals that own the home, they could get into any restaurant and we were treated like we were long-time residents, ourselves. We've stayed at ski-in, ski-out homes before, and this home was not only a better price, but it was a better location (by far!) to boot. We can't say enough about how comfortable and cozy it was, but especially the convenience to not only the slopes, but to apres-ski activities at the Peaks and in-town. Did I say we really loved the location?
