What an AMAZING stay...

We literally had only a few days to try to cram in a family vacation and with 4 small kids that usually means one thing - stress. I had rented vacation homes before and it doesn't really eliminate the headache in many cases despite being much more comfortable than a hotel. There are endless things that need to be packed, comforts you need to remember to bring, kids who won't eat anything but bagels, etc. From the moment I inquired about the property everything seemed to be taken care of. Muriel was AMAZING and professional. We met her at the front gate after driving through 5pm LA traffic - so I was expecting the worst and was already less than cheerful. She directed us to our parking spot (a miracle in LA to even have one) and then as our tired kids exited the van she cheerfully greeted every single one, shook their hands, and started answering all of their questions. She checked us in and gave us the grand tour letting us know we had a huge selection of things at our disposal to make the vacation as relaxing as possible. The condo was fantastic and VERY kid friendly. There were extra beach towels, paper plates, cups, etc. Fans for the bedrooms, DVDs, a book outlining all of the nearby attractions, and more. She had chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and everything we could need. It was one of the best vacations we had due to the attention to detail, warm reception, cleanliness of the condo (very important when your wife is like Monica from Friends), and constant assistance (at one point Muriel even walked down to the beach where we were camping out with directions to a great restaurant) provided by the Up and Away staff. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a fun beach vacation. The beach is literally 10 feet out the back door and it made all the difference being able to take care of everyone's needs. Thank you Muriel and we will be back again next year for sure!!!

Stayed here two years ago and came back for more. Right on the beachfront, so great for relaxing and watching the world go by. Alternatively, it is very conviently situated for attractions such as Disneyland and LA. Made to feel very welcome by Muriel. Hope to return again.

You won't find better accommodations for the price on the beach. The hostesses were awesome and met our every need. They will even pre-stock your fridge for you for a nominal fee. What an awesome vacation on the beach!

The apartment was a brilliant base to explore Los Angeles and the surrounding area. The accomodation was spotless and excellently equiped even down to chairs, plastic cups and beach towels to use on the beach . The apartment was definately a home from home, we couldn't find fault with anything! I would highly recommend this propery to friends, I think it is a hidden gem and am so glad that we found it.

Very nice appartment in Long Beach. Right on the beach and very near Downtown. Lots of things to do in Long Beach and Disneyland is just 30 minutes away. The appartment had everything we wanted and more. Made to feel very welcome on our arrival. We stayed for the last week of a two week holiday. I wish we had stayed for the two weeks. Would definately go back.

What can I say other than it was wonderful. I can't say enough about how nice Noelle & Muriel were to us. We could have not asked for any nicer people to deal with. They really went above and beyond to make our stay great. The condo was all that we needed. It was in a good location and it was very cozy. The one thing my husband bragged about was how good the master bed slept. He said it made you feel as if you were at home asleep in your own bed. I would recommend this location to anyone. Our stay at Beachside Retreat was wonderful. My husband and I not only enjoyed the great accomodations, but the excellent treatment by the staff. They were there for any of our needs, helpful and friendly!!! Muriel was always there to help and give us tips on the area. Of course Larry and Noelle are terrific. We particularly enjoyed the area ,and only a few blocks away from family and friends. This made the holidays special since we don't have the opportunity to celebrate with the family living in Oregon. I particularly enjoyed the availability of a full kitchen and spacious apartment style rooms. My husband and I loved the walks to Shoreline Drive and the convenient transportaiton to all areas along the beach....We will definitely return to this beautiful place especially as snow birds we hope to enjoy a long stay again for the winter months. I would highly recommend Beachside Retreat for anyone looking for a relaxing time on the beach with all the conveniences of HOME!!!
