Back beyond the Torey gate, lies yet another wooden gate on the left side with cobalt blue stained glass that leads to a special little getaway and sacred space known as the 'Hidden Cove'. It's private entry leads to a lush tropical and tranquil little haven nestled below an upstairs vacation rental known as the 'Secret Spot' on the Mesa in beautiful Santa Barbara. Unique custom made doors open to the stillness within.
A perfect spot for those needing to retreat and hibernate from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in order to rejuvenate and re-awaken the soul. The beach is right around the corner, about 5 houses away with steps leading right down to it. The neighborhood is peaceful and safe. The Mesa also offers great restaurants and healthy shopping within walking distance and is a short drive to downtown Santa Barbara and the harbor area. Come pamper your soul at the Hidden Cove and leave with peace of mind.
Our property is a 2 minute walk (1/10th of a mile) to the steps that go down to the beach. We have boogie boards, beach chairs and bicycles for you to use.
*There is an option to rent both vacation rentals as one unit if needed. Please feel free to inquiry for both ... The 'Secret Spot' VRBO listing is #155007.

Hidden Cove getaway
Hidden Cove getaway
Nice place, reasonably clean, close to beach walk and other amenities, great for small pet, just a bit dreary inside. The only real issue was no windows. When the weather was bad and we relegated to inside time, it felt a bit closed in. The living area was quite spacious, just no light. The bedroom was small but adequate for two people. The kitchen left some room for improvement if you plan to cook meals. Good for coffee and snacks. The patio was as pictured and great for the pet, nice, quiet and private. We might look for something brighter and more cheery to stay next time, but you can't beat the beach access and room for the pet. The owner's were very nice, helpful and pleasant.

The Hidden Cove is a hidden gem
The Hidden Cove is a hidden gem
We highly recommend the Hidden Cove. The VRBO description is accurate: the location is great, close to the beach and the Douglas park, within walking distance of shopping and good restaurants. The unit is well furnished and the owner is helpful and friendly. The bed is comfortable but occupies most of the small bedroom. The living room is spacious, private (minimal window area), and comfortable. It is the lower part of a duplex, a very interesting structure, and it was especially convenient for us since close friends and relatives were living in the upper unit, and we could easily have time together, plan outings, and share meals.
