Great Savannah location

We just returned from a weeks stay in beautiful Savannah with another couple. We couldn't have asked for a better location. We only used our car twice all week. We had the upper level of the house which was nicely furnished. And, yes the lights do come on by themselves! The kitchen was nicely furnished with seasonings, etc. We appreciated having laundry supplies, dishwasher soap, etc. furnished. The apartment was reasonably clean upon arrival. There were a few things that could have been improved upon. We had made the owners aware that our adult daughter would be joining us part of the time and there were no extra linens provided for her, plus the pull out sofa leaves a lot to be desired for sleeping on. Our friends used the second bedroom and they thought it might be time to look into a new mattress for that bed. Also, there was limited space in the bathrooms to put our toiletries and very limited towel bar space. One last suggestion would be to have two sets of keys so people can go separate ways if they want to. These are all minor and overall it was a nice place to base out of. Again, we couldn't asked for a better location to enjoy Savannah on foot. Morning and evening walks around Forsyth Park were a highlight for all of us.

Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Actually, extra linens are in the closet in the living room....... I wish you had called us when you couldn't find them. As far as sleeping on the couch, well, yes..... it is a couch, so not anywhere as comfy as a bed. Sorry. The mattresses are actually pretty new ( 3/10/2012 ) so not sure what the problem there may have been. You're the first to mention anything like that about them, but we'll definately look into it. As far as the key situation...... I have to agree and, actually we have replaced the locks with keyless entry systems this week so next time you won't have a problem!

loved every minute at this great home. We only rented the lower unit, but it was spectacular. Right on the park in the historic district !!

What a great home . Onwers did a outstanding job restoring it. We loved the house and especially the location so much we made an offer to buy it. sadly they declined. It really felt like home and I hope one day we can live here.

A hidden gem

We stayed in many vacation rentals all over the world and even in Savannah, but this one truly stands out. It really captures the charm of the city, the blend of old and new is so well done, I asked the owner if he would renovate my house too :) . We loved the location, right on the park and within walking distance to everything. The free off street parking was greatly appreciated, we never used our car and never had to worry about a meter or expensive parking garages. This is the Home we`ll be staying in from now on on our savannah visits. The owners are very friendly too, Manderly is a real southern lady. What a joy.

Stunning Home

We come to Savannah all the time and always stayed in a hotel. Then a friend told us about vacation rentals and we gave it a shot. What a pleasant surprise it was. This Home is immaculate. We found it hard to believe the owners would let us stay there. Everything was there too, linens, towels, shampoo, soap, hairdryers, coffee, even tea. We loved the location right on the park. We got up every morning and walked around, there is a little coffee shop just around the corner, where we grabbed fresh bagels. Can`t wait to be back.

Loved it, used to stay in hotels, no more. Can`t believe we didn`t think of this earlier. 279 for a whole home , we used to pay that for one room.

What a wonderful home. The owners really went out to bring this one back to life. We loved all the details, great restoration !! The location is perfect, everything in easy walking distance. Home was super clean, nice surprise. Felt like a 5 star hotel. Fully stocked kitchen was greatly appreciated. Definitely recommend this one, much nicer than a hotel.

Perfect !! This was the best Home we ever stayed in in Savannah and we stayed in a few. Normally don`t leave a review, my mom used to say, " If you don`t have anything nice to say don`t say anything at all " Well I finally have something nice to say, this is the best vacation rental in Savannah, look no further. Great owners too.

We wanted a nice place to stay with our children for Halloween and came across this listing on VRBO. It looked very good and from the reviews it seemed great too. It was even better than we imagined. The people at Savannah Dream vacations are extremely friendly, especially Manderly, she`s a real southern darling. She came after we locked ourselves out and even so it was already 10pm on a Saturday evening, she still had a big smile and even brought some candy for the kids !! I`m glad we decided against a Hotel, the Home was so much nicer and more spacious than a Hotel, plus we were there for a week, so it was nice to have a full kitchen and not to have to go out all the time. It felt like we were really living there and experiencing the city like Savannahnians do. The park right across the road seems to be the heart of Savannah. We went to the Farmers Market, Jazz fest was right there and it was just wonderful lively. We can`t wait to be back

Vielen dank and Manderly und Roman ( er ist Deutscher ) für die tolle Wohnung. Sie hat wirklich alle unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Ganz tolle Lage, mitten in der Altstadt, direkt am Park. Wir haben unseren Mietwagen kein eiziges mal benutzt. Falls wir irgendwann mal wiederkommen wissen wir schon wo wir wohnen werden. LG Theresa

I can't tell you what a great time we had staying in your beautiful house on Forsyth Park. We loved the location and the walk through the Historic District. Coffee and croissants in the morning across the road was just what we needed. So many great things in Savannah to see and do and eat! Too many to list! Discover for yourselves! You'll enjoy! Beautiful home exterior. Beautiful upper condo. Beautiful city. Perfect home-base location. Great walk through the squares from the rental. Perfect for 2 couples to lodge on vacation or 2 individuals traveling together. Concierge services are highly recommended. We felt right at home, and, if the city had not offered so much to see and do, we could have just stayed in the rental, watched DVDs, cooked, relaxed, etc. We even experience some of the famous Savannah haunting with the playful activity of the fan and fan lights. Hope to be back some day!

Dear Jeanne, Thank you for the lovely stay at the townhouse, it was really nice. I did want to ask you something about it. On four different occasions, while we were there staying, 3 times at night, our lights in our room, just came on by themselves while we were asleep. I was curious if anyone else experienced that. With all the talk from the tour guides about the "ghosts" around Savannah, it made me wonder??? Also did you know that the townhouse was also mentioned on the historic Oglethorpe tour we went on, very interesting!!! Thanks, Jennifer Hamm
