We are a family of 4, which includes 2 boys ages 7 and 11. We previously used the cabin during Thanksgiving break in 2010. We enjoyed it greatly so we stayed at the cabin again during Spring Break, March 23 – 30, 2013. It is a very easy place to get to, not too far off the main roads. Not too far from everything but far enough for our sons to enjoy gazing at the stars. Our sons enjoyed the hot tub and the air hockey table, as well as the swing on the front porch. It is a beautiful cabin. We were able to accommodate 2 extra extended family members for 2 ½ days and had plenty of space in the cabin and the use of the driveway. We had an enjoyable and relaxing time. Since our last stay, the owners have made some improvements, especially the Wi-Fi capability. It seems the owners want to take care and improve their cabin as much as they can. There is a lot of personal touches in the cabin, you can tell they put a lot of thought into building it. They are easy to work with. We recommend this cabin to any age.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed here for a short honeymoon trip, and we absolutely loved it! The owner gave us spot-on, easy to follow directions, so we didn't have any trouble finding it. The cabin looked exactly like the pictures and was extremely clean. The king sized bed was so comfortable that we almost overslept on the morning we were supposed to check out! The cabin is located about five miles from the main strip in Pigeon Forge, so you're close enough to town to go sightseeing, but you're far enough away that you feel like you get a good, restful vacation. We'll definitely book this cabin again and recommend it without hesitation!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My family and I just got back from our Christmas vacation at this wonderful cabin. The cabin is just like the pictures and had some great Christmas decorations. It was also very, very clean and I loved the Christian decor. I have four children (10 months, 4,5 & 6) and they loved everything about the cabin. I loved that my baby could not get to the loft stairs so I was not having to worry about him during the trip. We cooked several meals there and enjoyed some really special family time. It is very close to everything, but far enough away to feel private. When we come back that way....and we will...I will be booking this place again! Thanks...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This is our third stay here since last December. We've stayed here twice in the winter and once in June. We love this cabin. The owners are great. We love the cabin location. Its not crowded near a bunch of other cabins but you can be in Pigeon Forge within 10 minutes. And the best thing about this cabin is how clean it is. I've stayed in a lot of cabins and this is the cleanest I've been in. I usually take my owner cleaner to clean a place before we settle in but I've never felt the need to do that with this cabin. I'm sure we'll stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My family stayed at this property over fourth of July. It was wonderful. When we walked into the cabin we immediately felt at home. The place was decorated beautifully and clean. Our kids loved the loft and I loved the fact the both bedrooms had a bathroom adjoining it. This is the cabin we will always stay at no matter what. The best thing about this cabin is it is secluded. You truly feel like this is a Tennessee get away and you are not right next to your neighbor like all the other cabins are. I can't wait to book our vacation there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I along with our Son and his girfriend came down for the week-end. We had never rented from vrbo before so we had no idea how it was going to be. I found this cabin on the site and everything about it was what we were looking for- seclusion and 2 master suites. The cabin is as wonderful as the pictures show. We especially liked that we didn't have to go to a rental property to get the key. Everything was perfect !! We didn't use it, but in the loft there is a game area. The cabin is beautifully decorated and I guess if there was one negative thing about it - and by far this in no way means we won't be returning - is that the TV's in the bedrooms could be a little larger - us older people can't see too well !!!!! We loved the hot tub and the tubs inside. Loved sitting out front in the rockers and swing. Didn't use the firepit this time, but next time we will bring a log. I would definitely recommend this cabin to all my family and friends. We will definitely come back again !! Hope this review helps you to decide to rent this cabin. Oh and it is about 4 mi. from the main drag in Pigeon Forge, but not up a steep hill or anything. Just far enough away for us !!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband, 13 year old daughter, and myself had the pleasure of staying at "Bear Crossing" for 5 nights. When we walked in the door, we felt like we were home. It was beautifully decorated and the layout of the cabin is great. To have 2 master bedrooms is a very nice feature. My 13 year old enjoyed having her own jacuzzi bath tub and her own bathroom. I felt so comfortable at this cabin that I thought it was mine. I didn't feel like I was just another renter. The cabin was immaculate and well stocked with towels, blankets, etc. The location is fantastic also. You are about 10 minutes out from the main street in Pigeon Forge. Close enough to the action, but you can enjoy the quiet country setting. The owners responded very quickly to questions and were great to work with. I would highly recommend this cabin and the Calhouns. We go to Tennessee every year and have found the perfect cabin for us. We have stayed at 7 or 8 different hotels and a few different condos and this by far has been the nicest place we have stayed. We will definitely make this cabin our yearly choice of accommodation! Thank you to the Calhouns for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

When my family and I walked in the door, we felt like we were at home. Bear Crossing is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We loved the layout of the cabin and the jacuzzi tubs in each bedroom. The owner answered all of our questions very quickly. The cabin was also immaculate when we arrived. We saw other cabins in the area that are right next door to each other (too close together). Bear Crossing is not that way. It is very private and had lots of yard space for the kids to play in. Thank you for helping make our vacation a very pleasant one!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I have stayed in this cabin 2 times so far and both stays were better than any others i have had in Pigeon Forge area. The owners are so great, they contact you back quickly and work with you on anything they can. This cabin is absolutely beautiful. The pictures are very accute, but when you walk in it just feels like your at home. They have everything you need for your stay. The set up of the cabin is so great, the fact that they have two master bedrooms with bathrooms in each room and jacuzzi tubs in each room also is so great, especially if you are 2 couples traveling together. The first time I stayed it was my mom and I and it was her first visit to the area, and she LOVED it there. And the second visit was a couple weeks ago and that was my husband and I and two kids and the cabin was still great for us. So it shows the cabin fits all kinds of needs. And the last time we stayed they actually were so nice they helped us be able to stay with me contacting them via email on the same day of the stay within hours of arrival. I keep cabins that we have stayed at in my email folder so I can get ahold of them if need be and this cabin is TOP on my list. I even plan on coming again this year. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone that wants a great cabin to stay in in the smoky mountains!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
About the owner: We live in Roanoke, Ala. We are retirement age but not retired, really don't see that in the near future. We have one son, a wonderful daughter-in-law and have been blessed with two wonderful grand children, a boy and a girl. Our whole life revolves around these two little blessings. My husband is a minister and has a nursing home ministry weekly.
Why the Owner Chose Pigeon Forge:
We have been coming to the 'Smokies' since our son was about two years old and he is now married and has two children. We had always wanted a place there and since my husband is a builder, we came for several months scouting for property to build on and finally found the perfect spot, not so secluded but still with privacy and close in to town. We have really enjoyed having a place to come when we want to relax for a few days. We hope that you will enjoy our place as much as we do.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Each bedroom has a jacuzzi tub as well as a full bath and a enclosed hot tub on the back. The bedroom furniture is handmade by my husband . The yard is landscaped and has a long concrete driveway all the way to the front porch with only a few steps to the porch. The cabin is decorated so that you feel like you are at home away from home. It is only a five minute drive to a mini -mall including a specialty shop where you can purchase fresh cut steaks and allsorts of specialty food products as well as a wonderful pizza parlor.
