Ca de l'Üga Dulza means "House of the Sweet Grape" in the local dialect of Lezzeno, a sleepy town just south of Bellagio. While the name reflects our love of wine, "l'Üga Dulza" is also an expression used to convey "the sweet life" -- generally involving copious amounts of good food and drink, plenty of good company and a great deal of lazing about.
The apartment is on the second floor of a small free-standing villa and consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with showers, a living room with a single bed/couch and a compact full kitchen, and two balconies.
Ca de l'Üga Dulza is beautifully appointed with exposed-beam ceilings, stylish furnishings, high-end linens and modern amenities. The living/kitchen area and front bedroom and bath have breathtaking views of the lake. The back bedroom and bath have soothing views of the terraced greenery and mountainside.
Amenities include free wireless Internet access, an iPod docking station with speaker, Sky satellite LCD television, and a DVD player with a small DVD library.
As far as activities go, a vacation on Lake Como can take whatever form one wishes. Travelers may choose from a variety of pursuits (active to ... less so) to suit their tastes and daily moods. Naturally, no trip is complete without some time spent on the water, but whether this comes on a private boat tour, a rental craft or the local ferries is up to the visitor.
The culturally or artistically minded will enjoy all manner of beautiful villas and gardens, small galleries and fascinating museum exhibits around the lake.
Sports enthusiasts and other athletically inclined souls will be overwhelmed by the scope of activities available. Spectacular hiking trails include the Strada Regia (the ancient Roman "Royal Road"), which passes just outside our doors and stretches from the edges of Bellagio to Como, as well as countless others looping around the surrounding mountains and sloping shores. A short walk down to the water makes it possible to take advantage of water skiing or wakeboard lessons with world champions through the local water-sports center. Bike or kayak rentals are also available for those who prefer to adventure independently. Organized biking and horseback outings are available through companies in Bellagio.
Those with a more gustatory bent will revel in the many fine restaurants, charming wine bars and small shops selling local specialties. (Not to mention the gelaterias.)
And, of course, there are dozens of small shops full of treasures in nearby Bellagio or Como for those looking to find the perfect souvenirs for themselves or special gift for friends and family. The Unique Benefits at this Second Floor Apartment
The property is a short downhill walk to Hotel Aurora's great restaurant/pizzeria, as well as their dockside water sport possibilities and the community beach. It's also a short 15-minute drive to Bellagio for afternoon shopping or evening dining.
