Our family of 10 adults and 1 toddler had plenty of space to relax and have fun. The private heated pool was a big hit with everyone, especially our toddler who loved floating wtih the noodles. The beach access is a 15-20 minute walk (adult pace), but with carrying all of our beach gear, we found it better to drive down to the South Beach parking lot and pay the $8 daily fee. The home is more than adequately equipped with linens, towels and kitchen items.

I do not recommend to stay in this property. But, If you don’t take my advise you better make sure to check the house IN DETAIL at arrival in front of Elizabeth and do a complete inventory of kitchen items so you don’t get unfair charges to your deposit at the end. Or, you may want to consider your deposit as part of the rental cost since the beginning. - We were charged $50 for a stain on a cushion that we didn’t do. Obviously, we didn’t flip cushions to see if they were clean both sides when we received the house. -BBQ was not clean when we received it; again we didn’t check it at arrival so, we got a $30 charge for this. -We didn’t count all the cheap cutting boards they have in the kitchen; so we were charged $5 for one missing! (How you dare to suggest we took the cutting board with us AFTER PAYING $1,200 FOR A WEEK OF HOLIDAYS! It is so offensive we should sue you. But, lets assume it got broken, lost or whatever, how you dare to charge us $5 for a cutting board AFTER COLLECTING $1,200 for a week of rent!!!! -Apparently all the above was not enough and she charged a foreign exchange conversion rate for a US DOLLARS CHECK!!! We are not the first Canadian she received in her house; she should know WE CAN HAVE US DOLLARS BANK ACCOUNTS IN CANADA! All in all the house looks pretty but, it is not worthy. -We arrived a Sunday and the pool was not clean, Elizabeth apologized and advised it would be cleaned the following day. Cleaning didn’t happen until mid of the week. -Don’t get fool by the ad; you are ONE KILOMETRE (0.7 MILE) AWAY FROM BEACH ENTRANCE. There is an entrance to Residence beach 3 blocks from the house. It is a gated entrance with a security guard checking IDs. to every person that goes in and out thru the gate. The use of that gate is Only for Residents meaning people who stays at least 1 moth in the island and have Identification. Non-residents have to go thru Marriot access under a mile from the house. I’m not sure I will rent a private house again for my holidays but, I hope this review helps other travelers to choose well the people they are going to do business with.

Owner response:I am shocked at this review.Guests are furnished with rental rules more than 60 days prior to arrival and they sign and return them. I check all aspects of the house,gas grill,pool,amenities. True, a recent storm had deposited a little dirt in the pool but it was crystal clear and I advised them it would be cleaned and it was. I clearly state that all funds must be in US$$. The conversion charge to them was US$1.50. Guests numbered more than the stated amount and a charge of USD$75.00 per night per guest was waived because they seemed a nice family. The lanai furniture was less than a year old. I tried to have the grease cleaned to no avail and had to purchase a new cushion. All receipts were furnished as well as a photo of the damage.I could have charged for my mileage and time to try to clean the cushion as well as to go off-island to buy a new one. I didn't. I tried to be as fair as possible.The house location is stated as 5 blocks from the Beach access and that is what it is. We have many Canadian guests who stay a month or longer. Nothing is damaged or missing. This is a lovely, well-kept house and we always expect our guests to enjoy it and leave it in good condition. I regret their unhappiness but insist that I was as kind and fair as I could be while honoring my responsibility to the owner.

Everything in the house was wonderful and ready for our stay. We have been to Marco several times and will be back again next year. The floor plan and ammenities were great. The house was very neat, clean and well maintained. Thanks Elizabeth for your hospitality.

We just loved our stay in Marco. The beaches are fantastic, the environment is beautiful and the home is just perfect. We stayed in 9 there and we were all very well accomodated. Plenty of space, clean, full with supplies and ammenities. The house is ina great location just 10 min walk to the beach and, although the owner does not rent his boat, there is room for docking another boat there. Definetely we will schedule a return to this wonderful home. Thanks Elizabeth!!

Our family of seven had the best vacation ever at this lovely, very spacious, immaculate, comfortable home. We all agree that the photos do not do it justice! Furnishings, amenities, and great pool area are superior, and the location is tops: an easy walk to Residents Beach, longer walk to Tigertail, two supermarkets nearby, quiet neighborhood, a block from the main road, and so much to do in the area. We enjoyed a half-day fishing trip, ferry to Key West, tour of the Everglades, mini-golf, swimming, dining out (CJ's is fabulous), and just relaxing. Our "House Angel" was gracious and attentive but not intrusive. No detail was overlooked. Wireless Internet is a plus. We definitely want to go back to Marco Island and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We stayed at this home in March 2010. The home is open, light, and airy - a beautiful floor plan. The pool was loved by our children (and the grown-ups). It took us 15 minutes to walk to the beach. We were within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. We highly recommend CJ's restaurant! Of all our past rentals, this home takes first place in being stocked and ready for guests. We lacked for nothing. We will and already have recommended this home to our friends and family. The rental agent is a gem to work with. You will love this house if you rent here!

We recently rented this property while on our visit to Marco Island for a wedding. It was a great solution to trying to fit 7 people into 2 hotel rooms. The house was exactly as advertised and there were no "hidden" conditions. We enoyed the pool and the house had a great open and relaxing feel to it. it was also very clean and well maintained. The caretaker of the property was excellent to work with. The property was also very centrally located on the island and was close to many things but was still quiet and secluded. I would definitely recommend this house, especially if you have a family or larger group.

We had a very good vacation on Marco Island. The house is close to a great beach and located in a quiet neighbor- hood. Everything in the cupboards and closets we needed. Refrigerator on the lanai and a big pool. Thanks
