“The Cabin That Goldilocks Found” is the perfect north Georgia mountain vacation home. Located on Smokehouse Knob Mountain in Rabun Gap, GA, it is 5 miles from Black Rock Mountain State Park, 15 miles from the Chattooga River, minutes from Lake Rabun, Lake Burton and Tallulah Gorge, an hour from Cherokee, NC and less than an hour from Highlands, NC and Helen, GA. Atlanta, GA is less than 2 hours away.
The cabin sits at the end of a winding mountain road where the serenity enhances relaxation. For the adventuresome, there are numerous streams for fishing, class IV whitewater rafting, dozens of hiking trails of all levels of difficulty (most reward you with a waterfall), several museums, antique malls, horseback riding, road tours – all a short distance from your home base.
Goldilocks is fully furnished. Also there is a washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need except for the groceries. The spacious deck has a great mountain view, and on clear nights you will see more stars than you can imagine.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only. No pets, please.
This is a great destination in the summer as the weather is milder than many of the stifling destinations around the south, the winters are very mild compared to locations in the northern states, and the spring and fall seasons have spectacular scenery to go along with the mild temperatures.
As an added benefit, the owners live year around on the same mountain and can provide insights and directions for all of the above activities and the various dining experiences the area offers.
