I enjoy serving our customers at Windwalker Cabin. Thanks to all that have stayed with us and welcome to all that plan on staying with us in the future.
Why the Owner Chose Boone
TheBoone/Todd area is probably one of the most beautiful areas in the USA. After living in Alabama and South Florida and traveling this great nation, I have come to love not only the scenery, but the friendliest people in the country.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
This property is located on a gorgeous 21 acre plot that is very remote, yet close enough to the city that a fine dining experience is easily accessible. The awesome views and wooded area promotes beautiful wildlife as well as many different wildflowers and mountain laurel.

It was a wonderful time away from the daily life of demands. Rick and Dana were the very best of hosts. It's great to encounter people who go above and beyond to help. Cabin fitted with all the things necessary for a great time away. Cabin and grounds are all well-kept and very welcoming in every way. We had a great time!!

We stayed at Windwalker 3 years ago, and finally made it back for another beautiful fall weekend. We loved every minute of our trip, and wish it had lasted longer! We won't let as much time go between visits this time. This cabin has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, and is decorated beautifully. It's a great place to forget about the outside world, and to enjoy some "me-time" or "us-time". The owners of the cabin go above and beyond to make your visit the most enjoyable and relaxing experience. There was relaxing music playing when we arrived, Dana made us delicious cupcakes, and she and Rick took us on a beautiful hike up the mountain. We can't wait to visit again, and will be recommending Windwalker to all of our friends and family.

The cabin is off by itself just enough to give you peace and quiet, but not total isolation. It's very cozy and is perfect for enjoying the cool mountain weather. You can hike and explore the property or take a five-minute drive to Todd for meals or river recreation. Boone is about 25 minutes and Blowing Rock 40, so there is plenty to see and do if you want to leave the property...but you might be inclined to stay and enjoy.

We loved staying in this cozy little cabin! It was the perfect size for what we were looking for. There was music playing when we arrived and a loaf of cinnamon bread/coffee cake waiting for us! We enjoyed hiking up the mountain behind the cabin in the early morning to see the beautiful views!

This cabin is located in some of the most beautiful mountain country there is. We arrived to the sound of music coming from the cabin, which we thought was a nice touch. This cabin has everything you need, even better cookware than I have at home! It looks small from the outside, but once you're in there is plenty of room! We enjoyed the fire-pit, and hiking the trail to the top of the mountain. We really hated for the weekend to come to an end. Sunday before we left- my boyfriend of 5 years purposed in the cabin! It was so romantic! We can't wait to spend another weekend at Windwalker Cabin! Thanks to Rick and Dana for everything!

We stayed here with our 1 year old a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for our needs. Having a fully stocked kitchen was really nice. We enjoyed cooking hot dogs and smores over the fire we built in the rock ring fire pit behind the cabin. The stargazing afterwards was amazing. A few things for people to keep in mind, this cabin is really close to the top of a mountain, which is really neat, but it also means its about a half hour drive down the mountain to the main roads that lead to Boone or W. Jefferson. Also, the cabin is off of a very bumpy dirt road, but it's not that far down it - you're on it for less than a mile.

This was my family's 1st trip to the mountains and 1st trip booked on here. We have to say that we were VERY happy with our choice! The cabin is exactly as described. The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with. Although the cabin is small, it houses everything that you should need - bedroom, convertible bed, bathroom & linens, stocked kitchen and fire pit. It is close to Boone & W. Jefferson. The cabin is situated on property that is separate from the owner, yet close, and provides opportunity to walk/hike, fish and explore. We wandered into Todd, NC to experience a festival that was going on while staying there and it was enjoyable. My family (+ dog) highly recommend this property!

This cabin is a true gem and a great bargain (not to mention pet-friendly). There were many extras including a kitchen equipped with all the basic cooking utensils, fresh coffee, cold ice water waiting for us and the best, fresh, homemade muffins. We also appreciated staying in a cabin that furnished all necessary linens (lots of extra towels, sheets, warm blankets, etc) and toiletries. The owners lived down the road and were available to answer any questions, or in our case, bring us some kid-friendly DVD’s on our rainy arrival day for our toddler. The cabin was immaculate, cozy, and best of all, centrally located to Todd, Boone, and Blowing Rock. We can’t wait for our return trip, hopefully it will be dry enough to use the fire pit and grill outback.
Owner response:You were super guests. We enjoyed meeting you and that wonderful lab. The place was left immaculate and we hope to see you again in the spring. Rick and Dana
